As Tim covered in the Daily Links, Toledo wide receiver became the 13th undrafted college free agent to sign with the Denver Broncos late Saturday, the Denver Post reports. We had earlier reported that 12 undrafted college players joined the Broncos following the conclusion of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Page is 5-9 and 185 lbs. and was coveted for his return skills. The Post’s Lindsay Jones speculates that he could enter training camp as the team’s number one punt and kick returner.

At least one undrafted rookie has made the Broncos’ 53-man roster in each of the last eight seasons; like his 12 other draftmates, Page’s future in Denver is now in his own hands.

Broncos tried to fix bad draft in 2009 with their 2012 draft | Denver Post
And with their 2012 draft, the Broncos attempted to make a final correction on their embarrassing draft of 2009. Where would the Broncos be today — with Peyton Manning at quarterback, Von Miller at pass-rush linebacker and John Elway as the front- office point man — had they not so magnificently bombed with their five (that’s right, five) draft picks in the first two rounds that year?

The B-roncos. The Broncos’ draft must be given a grade of B-minus — today. Or perhaps an “E” for Erudite, Efficient, Eclectic, Esoteric and Elway for tomorrow. EFXceptional? Probably not. Failure? Definitely not.

The 2012 NFL Draft left many of us Denver Broncos fans wanting more.  To understand the vision and focus of the three-legged stool of John Elway, John Fox and Brian Xanders, we must look at the entire picture.  That vast portrait that is Elway’s grand plan for returning the Broncos to Super Bowl glory.

There is a method to this madness and we should try to see the forest through the trees.

The Denver Broncos picked up Gerell Robinson soon after the 2012 NFL Draft ended.  College Free Agents mostly don’t make NFL rosters, but with this guy the Broncos are hoping for the next Rod Smith.

Robinson was my third favorite sleeper wide receiver pick a couple of weeks ago, so I am more than happy the Broncos were able to pick this kid up without using a draft pick.  He isn’t much of a workout warrior, but has shown incredible toughness over his career at Arizona State. Robinson is known for catching footballs in traffic or when being contested on jump balls.

I do not expect Robinson to compete for a starting position this year, but long term he could very well become the next Rod Smith for the Denver Broncos.  Let’s take a look at some of the various scouting profiles on him, as well as some fun highlight reels.

The NFL’s network, in a desperate attempt to mention Tim Tebow and generate attention, is releasing it’s Top 100 Players of 2012, as supposedly voted by the players.  On Saturday evening, NFLN released rankings 91-through-100.

One member of the Denver Broncos has already made the list, as veteran running back Willis McGahee comes in at 98th overall.  Somewhat amusingly, McGahee is ranked higher than Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson and lower than New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow.

100.  Chris Johnson, RB, TENN.

99.  Ryan Kalil, C, CAR.

98.  Willis McGahee, RB, DEN.

97.  Donald Penn, OT, TB.

96.  D’Qwell Jackson, LB, CLEV.

95.  Tim Tebow, QB, NYJ.

94.   Marshawn Lynch, RB, BUF.

93.  Cortland Finnegan, CB, TENN.

92.  John Kuhn, FB, GB.

91.  Tony Romo, QB, DAL.

What are your thoughts on the list so far?  Should McGahee be ranked higher? Dish out your thoughts in the comments below!

The Denver Broncos have concluded making selections in the 2012 NFL Draft (class here), and recently finished signing undrafted rookie free agents (UDFAs).  In a post-draft press conference, Brian Xanders stated that the team has filled their roster by signing twelve UDFAs.

Here’s a list of the confirmed signings:

Anthony Miller, TE, University of California

Austin Wuebbels, G, Missouri.

Duke Ihenacho, S, San Jose State

Steven Johnson, LB, Kansas University

Gerell Robinson, WR, Arizona State

Elliot Coffey, LB, Baylor

Jamie Blatnick, DE, Oklahoma State

Coryell Judie, CB, Texas A&M

Aaron Brewer, LS, San Diego State

Jerry Franklin, LB, Arkansas

Mike Remmers, T, Oregon State

Wayne Tribue, G, Temple

Eric Page, WR, Toledo

Undrafted players have contributed in Denver in the past (think Rod Smith and Dwayne Carswell) and the twelve rookies mentioned above will be fighting for a roster sport during training camp this summer.  At least one undrafted rookie has made Denver’s roster for eight consecutive seasons.

Second year cornerback Chris Harris was signed by the team after going undrafted last year and made ProFootballFocus.coms‘ All Rookie Team in 2011.  This season, Harris will likely remain a starter in Denver’s nickel defensive packages.

Danny Trevathan

The Denver Broncos have selected Danny Trevathan with the 188th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.

With the final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft for the Denver Broncos, John Elway and company keyed in on yet another position of need with Trevathan.  He can come in and contribute immediately on Special Teams and could provide some needed depth with some other young guys currently on the roster at Linebacker.

He sort of reminds me of a faster Wesley Woodyard, but Trevathan doesn’t appear to be as skilled in coverage.  In any case, a solid pick up to round out the draft for the Broncos.

What do you fans think of this pick?
