2012 NFL Draft — First, the Denver Broncos traded down to pick 31. Then they traded out of the first round altogether.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved back into Round One, trading the Broncos the 36th and 101st selections for the Broncos’ 31st and 126th (part of the New England trade).

The Patriots selected Dont’a Hightower with the 25th pick. The Bucanneers selected RB Doug Martin 31st. Two fan favorites came off the board right where the Broncos were picking.

That is some strait up disappointing shit… So much for taking the best available instead we are going to get a bunch of 4th round crap. On the first trade with the Pats I was pissed, on the second I wanted to throw my remote through the damn TV. What a complete waste of time!!!

  • Broncmanc

Maybe we can keep trading down and get all 32 7th round picks.

    lol

No shit… Seems like the goal for sure…

Man I’m steamed… And now we’ll probably make a waste of a pick and take Worthy. Just when I start feeling good about how these guys are running things they Ass Clown out of control…

  • Audi

Still better then a McDumbass draft.

Very disappointing.  I really wanted Doug Martin.  They are still in a good position to grab Fleener, Hill or Worthy, all of whom I think would make this a better team.  They can package the picks they got with their second 2nd rounder to move up and grab whoever else they want in the 2nd.

Think we package some picks to try and trade for a first rounder from somebody next year/2 years from now?

  • anthony33

Well… I guess that’s certainly one way not to blow your first round pick.

What in the hell are they thinking… was this a money move?

  • CJ

not if they draft jerel worthy. a guy they may have wanted all along. I like fourth rounders. we drafted b marshall and dumervil in the fourth i believe

  • Broncmanc

I think Hightower could make a good tandem with Miller.

    Could have… :-/

I want to see Worthy and Jenkins in the 2nd. I dont care how we get them, I just want them to be Broncos. Actually, scratch Jenkins off that list… I dont think a “pot-addict” (I know its not actually addicting, but it sounds like he is essentially hooked) would be a good fit in Colorado.

Worthy is lazy and plays about half the time. If they go there I’ll be more unhappy. Oh well like Broncmanc said, maybe we can shoot for all 32 7th rounders.

    Dumbest fucking thing

  • Anonymous

Well I suppose if they take Worthy now they get to say they didn’t waste a first round pick on him when he’s a bust… There is a reason why everyone else passed on him!

  • bummer

maybe FEX are just trying to help other teams since we’re gonna win the next 2-3 SB’s anyway since we got Peyton…remember?
    Who needs draft choices!

  • Jwebb

Stockpiling picks for carolina’s Jonathan Stewart?

  • Vincemarine

Everyone just needs to relax. The draft just started and people on here are already saying who the studs and busts are. It will take a few years to determine anything. Lets just wait and see who we pick up and how they perform this year; then we can make those determinations. Patience!

i was steamed when we took von last yr.  hopefully they prove me wrong again.

thats true, but to trade back TWICE and only end up with one fourth round pick. can’t get at least two picks for moving back that far.

  • millertime

mcdumbass would have traded two future picks to reach for a player that would only be on the roster one or two years

  • crazykid

same here! And look on the bright side, we could be Chiefs or Seahawks fans.

  • millertime

    seahawks really screwed the pooch!!!

  • Brentc

Most of you who are overreacting would make horrible GM’s.  the draft between 25-45 is nearly a wash.  We lost a little value according the to trade chart but I think that’s because “our” guy wasn’t there and it made for sense to build ammunition for tomorrow. We’ll take an impact player with 36 and then probably packages some of our mid round picks to move back up in the 2nd or early 3rd for our picks – Patience :)

  • areferee

I understand the frustration, but if it will help, look at it this way:  Most experts felt there were about 22 truly good first round picks on the board.  We originally were set to pick 25th.  We are now set to pick 36th, only 11 players farther back and we now have two 2nd rounders instead of one and a much higher 4th rounder, up 25 picks.

I suspect the two DT’s and the RB they may have wanted were already off the board.  If that is true, the move may pay off much better than it first appears.

  • Dmandarich

Only Denver could trade down (TWICE) and end up with one more pick than they started with!!!! When it all boild down we ended up giving up 25 for 101. I was all for moving down, but it was to get more 2nd and 3rd round picks. Explain to me how Baltimore can get a 2nd and 3rd for there late first round and we have to swap fourth round picks with a team that WANTED to get back in!!!! EFX reallt screwed up day one of the draft!!!!

  • calli bronco fan30

    bullshit thought elway was smart

Don’t be so down guys, you’ll all be happier once we start selecting players tomorrow.

  • CJ

seriously. its not like we drafted worthy at 25 or something stupid. FEX are just staying true to there board, which is a whole lot  better than Mcdumbass almost giving me a stroke

  • http://thingsatrexdoes.tumblr.com Mike Birtwistle

And will we all be sad pandas when we’re back here tomorrow with Devon Still and Mike Martin?  (Or similar players)

  • Anonymous

So far the EFX have drafted two good player (Miller and Franklin).

McDaniels drafted Thomas, Decker, Beadles, and Tebow (he may have been a first round and off the team, but he sure as hell made the Broncos relevant).

It remains to be seen who is really better. I wasn’t really all that enamored with the 2011 draft and 2012 is looking the same.

I’ve done stuff like this in Madden with great success.  Unfortunately this isn’t Madden.

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

Good point, I wasn’t sure about Von at all.

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

You’re probably right, we’re all depressed we watched 3 hours  of the most boring draft in years IMO only to see our team not even make a pick.  Now I have to rush home early tonight, lol.

  • http://Facebook.com/BroncosZone Jon

Haha I thought it was interesting with all the trades.

  • moverdenver

People please, . It will take a few years to determine anything. Lets just wait and see who we pick up and how they perform this year
