November might be a looooooooong month.

  • Pat

    Ouch

  • DC

    I see 6 wins max.

  • milehighs

broncos are screwed this year.should of stuc k with cutler.

  • Matt
  • Matt

and uhh.. this year is going to be rough with or without Cutler. I actually believe we’ll pull off a stronger season without him.

  • SanDiegoBronco55

damn tough schedule…but at least we have to go to San Diego in October rather than late December…plus maybe we can get some bad weather for our home game against them around thanksgiving….dude…we gotta have faith…we will rally around Orton…cant wait!!!!

  • robtink242

hey lets be optimistic we might win 10 games. who knows.

But realistically Whoa how did we manage this.

  • roshon2411

Well they could open the season well, with Cincy, Cleveland, and Oakland but could be down hill from there. Don’t see too many road games where they will be favored.

  • Fan from Spain

I am very optimistic also.. 4-0 start, I think “the teacher” will win the NE game, but if the team has the rite attitude and a decent D… playoffs for sure.

  • dbroncos

We will probably start off 2-1 or 3-0 and then things will shift dramatically i think. And yea November is going to be a LONG month.

  • http://Broncotalk.net (dee)

    Bengals – WIN
    Browns – WIN
    Raiders – WIN
Dallas – WIN (this game is at home)
    NE – Loss (I’m realistic)
SD – Loss (also on road)
BALT – WIN (they won’t outscore us)
Pitts – WIN (we’ve beat them the last 2 times we’ve played them)
Wash – Loss (tough road game)
SD – WIN (at home we beat them)
NYG -Loss (maybe a close loss)
KC – WIN (come on … KC )
    Indy – Loss (road game)
    Oak – WIN
Philly – WIN (this one is for Dawkins)
KC – WIN (nothing game, but its at home)

I have them going 11-5 , now the rationale:

We’ve beat Pittsburgh the last 2 times we’ve played them (1 time with Cutler, and once with Plummer)

Baltimore is not going to outscore us, I dont care who plays QB for us.

The game that might go either way is Dallas…. so even if they lose that game then they’ll finish 10-6.

    Thoughts?

  • NathanH

very optimistic Dee. Baltimore’s O will be better next year, and their D is filthy, I don’t really see us putting up more then 20 on them, so it’ll be close. KC could split one, so could the Raiders. Pitt isn’t a gimme either. Until i saw the schedule i was hopeful for 10 wins, but now I think even a realistic season for the team would be 9-7.

  • http://Broncotalk.net (dee)

    nathanH

As I Bronco Fan I hope for the Superbowl every year, I’m not expecting anything else …. for those that are expecting a 5-11 year why even bother watching if you expect them to lose?

  • robtink242

i totally agree with dee. Your prediction looks nice but i cant predict anything until the preseason. After the draft and all the OTA’s then we’ll see what players we have. then in preseason we’ll see how they play.

  • http://Broncotalk.net (dee)

One of the other things that I’ve thought of is that everyone (experts, fans, general people on the street) believe that the broncos will have a terrible season because we dont have any real stars or impact players on defensive.

From McD’s perspective he is coming from NE where they had good players, but the emphasis was always on putting the best TEAM on the field. Too often we talk about being a great TEAM, however focus on individuals. McD knows a thing or two about putting the best TEAM on the field and finding a way to win. I have faith in his ability to win and teach our TEAM how to become winners.

Another note: How good was the Patriots team that beat St Louis? They didn’t have many superstars , but played the best team game. (Yes I know about the videotapping, but honestly I believe all teams do it , so do even go there)

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

    Dee!
    Share the kool aid!
U have us sweeping KC & the Raiders… I’ll take that and a SD split. I’d love to win the Dallas game… I believe we can win some of the others as well. What scares me are the early games we’re SUPPOSED to win… Let’s see how our new system & players gel in camp & preseason…

  • http://Broncotalk.net (dee)

    WB

We will win, at minimum we’ll be 9-7 I believe. But I think we will win at least 10 games. Believe in the Broncos.

  • NathanH

“for those that are expecting a 5-11 year why even bother watching if you expect them to lose?”

Because I’m a Broncos fan. I’m sorry, but I don’t “hope” or “faith” in things that aren’t realistic.

I’ll still watch every minute of every game whether we finish 14-2 or 2-14. Why? To McD’s callin plays, see how the young guys are developing, see the new defensive scheme and if its worth it for us, see Dawkins and Champ play together, and most of all, to judge if they were “5-11″ because McD or the team sucked(making the season a failure), or if it was a “5-11″ season where the young guys really grew up, the QB took to the system, but we just played a rough schedule and weren’t as bad as our record suggests.

I said I’m looking for a 9-7 year at best, that is optomistic to me, and if its not for you, then you either don’t watch the other teams we play, or you are one of those blind hopeful types.

Thats great that you expect a Superbowl every year, so do I, but there is also such a thing as reality. And the reality is that we have NO ONE, besides DJ Williams that we can really expect to transition well in the front 7, and especially on the D-Line.

That mixed with a QB switch(even if he does well), an all new secondary besides Champ, a near overhaul on the coaching staff and FO, and the unpredictablity of injury, and we’re looking at maybe 10 wins if we play out of our minds.

  • http://Broncotalk.net (dee)

    NathanH

I dont think its just blind faith, I think my rationale speaks for itself. But hey we dont have to agree.

  • http://Broncotalk.net (dee)

    NathanH

I’m sorry you must be a bigger fan than me and be able to predict the future, I apologize for my faith.

  • stav

I watch every game, every minute, regardless of score. And then regardless of the outcome, since its tivo’d, I either torture or enjoy myself once more during the week with a replay. But who cares really, I think we’re all fans here, lets not do the bs scale of fan garbage. Anyway, I see 6-9 wins realistically. 6, 7 is if they don’t buy into McD and we’re flip-flopping between Simms/Orton. 8, 9 is if they buy into McD and have his back, we draft smartly, and we actually learn how to wrap and tackle. I don’t think I’m dreaming when I say that I think out of Dallas, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington (and I’m serious when I say this), at least two of those four maybe three of four. Why is Dallas so good? I agree, Baltimore isn’t going to put up alot of points. You never know what you’re going to get with Philly, and Washington is just Washington another question mark team. I think people are just going to sleep on us and that’s the biggest mistake you can make, treating a team like an after-thought. Here we go:

    Bengals – W
    Browns – W
    Raiders – W
Dallas – L, four straight? come on guys, that’s a little much, no?
    New England – L
    The Dolts – L
Baltimore – W, Flacco just doesn’t do it for me
    Pitt – L
    Skins – W
The Dolts – L, sorry I think they sweep us this year
    G-Men – L
    Chiefs – W
Colts – L, but not as ugly as the past
Raiders – W, we sweep this year
    Eagles – W
Chiefs – L, they get us back for one

8-8, and I think this is realistic. Throw in one upset for a 9th win? Holy shit, I consider the 2009-2010 season a huge success (as long as the Bears go 7-9 or worse so we can have another top 12 pick).

  • NathanH

    Dee…WHAT THE HELL IS FAITH??????????

It certainly is not cause for rationale. People boggle my mind. Its the 21st century and people still want to cling on things like “faith”!?. I hate to ruin this for ya Dee, but your “faith” in Santa, the tooth fairy, jesus or the Broncos doesn’t mean crap and certainly isn’t justification for a realistically thinking the team will have a better season.

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com hercules rockefeller

I’m sorry, but this thing is brutal. Look at weeks 4-12. That’s a potential 7 game losing streak right there. Maybe we take dallas and washington. maybe.

Best case is 9-7. Probably closer to 6-10.

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com hercules rockefeller

Best case is very unlikely. And what’s with all of the 11am starts? Six? What the hell?

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

I wish i could offer an argument for how we’ll do this year…
Way too many variables at this point to even begin. Ridiculous.
I’ll hold my 2 cents for mini-camp at least!
Until then… I guess I better side with Dee but I’m going to have to spike my koolaid k?
    Go Broncos

  • roshon2411

Dee, why not 16-0 then? If McD can get the Broncos to the playoffs with this schedule, give him a lifetime contract and not the Shanny lifetime contract.

  • soxbigdog

They will be riding high starting the season 3-0, McDaniel will be the new offensive genius… and then …. its all down hill from there !

  • Riverscanbl&wme

Holy Sh*t! The NFC East is tough but probably not as good as it was last year. I agree 3-0 and a close one with Dallas. I think we can beat New England but won’t. Peyton doesn’t like 3-4 fronts as much as the 4-3 and so we have a better chance slowing him down. McDaniels better have made this team more physical because games against the Ravens, Giants, and Redskins won’t be picnics. I think an 8 and 8 season to a 10 and 6 season is about the right range for this team. But who knows that’s why they play the game.

Dee – I’m with you all the way. If you don’t think your team can win then why do you watch? Reality? The reality is that any team can win any Sunday and a new regime can equal more wins. Just ask Atlanta, Miami, and Baltimore if you don’t believe.

  • roshon2411

One more thing on the Bears, they have one of the easiest schedules based on last years records. So much for that being a top 10 pick. Anything is possible but I wouldn’t put money on it.

Also, what did Cutler do to Dilfer? Sleep with his mom? Watching the show on ESPN and he just predicted the Lions first win against Cutler and the Bears. Ha

  • BroncoinVA9986

DEE and Nathan H…..there is first amendment right and one of you will be wrong….hopefully we will be 14-2…..Guys we can’t predict wins and losses until we have completed the draft and have season the first depth chart….

Roshon2411 I agree but think about it a low first rounder can still be a difference maker,………………

  • BroncoinVA9986

I am incoporating in my prays tonight one that includes aquiring Rashad Johnson

  • Kawike

Any game can go to either, because the NFL is an extremely competitive league. Anybody remember the Rams kicking the crap out of the Cowboys who were supposed to go to the superbowl based on pre-season predictions?

LMAO, that one is going up on the links tomorrow alm034.

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

On a serious note, ouch. I’m going with 7-9 with us taking the first four games. Dallas has lost a bunch and not filled the holes this offseason.

  • RHINO

I know we have a hard as hell schedule but this is the NFL where anything can happen. Nobody in their right mind had the Dolphins winning the east and going to the playoffs after going 1-15.

  • roshon2411

    WhidbeyBronco,

Love It! Post 34. If this team wins more than 11 games with this schedule, Super Bowl Champs all the way!!! Cincy on the road opening week, we’ll find out how good this team is right away. A team your expected to beat. Pressure’s on McD!

  • http://broncotalk.net Ian Henson

11-5, early prediction, let me break it down and I may come up with something else.

  • http://birty.blogspot.com mikebirty

any given sunday. Any given sunday. 6th seed and who cares what the record is.

Philly straight after christmas looks likes a nice road trip. They’ll all be tired out after beating up santa.

  • DC

All you idiot McD fans don’t start hating on him when we go 6-12. That bus is yours to keep.

  • BoulderBronco

    Stav-
A few comments on your “realistic” prediction…
-If we split with KC it will be wins for each home team. We are horrible in KC and we will win at home. (we could win both games, Cassel won’t be as good in the KC system as people think)
-Whats wrong with winning 4 straight? If we win the 1st 3 games then the team will build confidence in McD’s system which could easily let us win a home game against an over-rated Dallas team. (They’ve lost way too much this offseason to be better and they didn’t even make the playoffs last season)
-SD is tough but division games are always close. We could still split this series.
That puts us at 10-6 or 11-5 with an upset from your “realistic” prediction. I think we’ll be somewhere between 9-7 and 11-5 which could put us into the playoffs either way.

  • Ryan M.

I have a sad prediction…the chiefs will sweep us this year:(

  • DC

11-5, with this schedule. Did you have us 16-0 with our cup cake sched last season Ian? Your not serious, right? If you are, yo let me know who ya deala man is?

  • BroncoinVA9986

week 8 thru 12 is gonna be killa

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com hercules rockefeller

6-12? Which sport are you watching, sport?

  • http://broncotalk.net Ian Henson

DC- I had the Broncos at 13-3 last year =P I was only five games off…

  • http://www.divineinspirationastrology.com Kelly in Carolina

We’ll be lucky to pull off a 9-7 record and vie for a Wild Card Spot! Depending on how the defense comes together though, we could do better. But let’s just set our sights realistically at 8-8, with two more first round picks next year, and after that it’s on! But it will be an exciting season to watch no matter what just to experience the new offense and the resurrected defense!

  • http://broncotalk.net Ian Henson

Lucky is 16-0, we’ll be fine for 9-7. Broncos will come up nicely I think.

  • broncoNM

    I agree with Ian…My prediction is 9-7
My 4 reasons that this team will be better are:
Leadership- We lacked leadership on both sides of the ball last year. McD has brought in vets on the defensive side of the ball (dawkins, hill, goodman). The addition of these guys will help champ lead this defense. Orton will be a better leader than Cutler. Not saying Orton is all around better but its clear that Cutler was not a locker room guy. Guys like royal, hillis and clady have a year under their belt and are proven stars that start to be core leaders.
Defensive Coaching- Slowik was a bum with a horrible track record….Nolan is a better DC with something to prove since being kicked out of San Fran. This defense will see a positive turn around with slowik gone.
Red Zone Scoring- Orton will not throw for 4,000 yrds like Cutler but we will score more points this up coming year. Our red zone offense was not very good…We had costly red zone turnovers and left alot of points on the field. This offense will be deadly in the redzone. Think about our receivers…Marshall, Royal,Stokely, Gaffney…These guys in this system will be impossible to cover in the endzone plus hillis to bang it in as well.
Balance- Cutler is obviously talented but his numbers were inflated last year because we threw the ball all the time. No team can win without balance. With 7 rbs on the ir it was impossible to get any consistency. i believe that buckhalter, arrrington, hillis are upgrades from last years running backs. They will bring much needed balance to this offense.

Also field position…broncos need better field position. Im hoping arrington will help the return game but this is an area the broncos could improve.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

My 11-5 prediction may be high…. so I’ll comprimise and say we’ll be 10-6 and we will perhaps be a wildcard team, unless SD sucks again this year and we win the divison outright.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

Anyone else see Orton’s Bronco Jersey last night on NFL Network? It looks good, and the fan reaction to it was pretty good…. unless it was manufactured for TV =O?

  • milehighs

the denver broncos would have gone to the superbowl this year.but they traded cutler.now the broncos will be lucky to win 5 games next year.so be ready for a shocking year.the broncos will fall hard.worst year every in broncos history.last year they got stomped on.this year their going to be smashed.sad day for all use fans when cutler trade was made.going to feel that for 15 years.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    milehighs

Why dont you follow ****** to Chicago and become a fan of their team, that way you won’t be sad….and maybe you can cheer them onto a Superbowl. And who knows what’s going to happen in the next 15 years ?

  • Stav

Here we go again, milehighs and his witty, original, thought provoking comments. 7 wins at the least, 9 maximum and that’s with every going perfect. 10 is really pushing it. Admit it, CUTLER, you’re posting in an effort to get some pity from us. Stop using the milehighs alias and just post under your real identity. dueschebag Qb of the bears.

  • kerry

Faith! PFFFTTTT yeah i have about as much faith in McDaniels as i do in the flying spaghetti monster playing for the Broncos. faith is ridiculous. you can be rational WITHOUT faith.

but lets all live in reality for a second here. we could win our first 3 games and then lose our next 8 games in a row. and dont anybody give me that “oh McDaniels will find a way to beat the Patriots” thats what everybody said about Shanahan last year and we got smoked. this is seriously a year where we go 4-12 to 6-10. being optimistic is one thing, but being realistic is another. live in reality people! this is a bad football team that Shanahan left and its even worse now with a very hard schedule. 11-5???? not a chance! 10-6. not a chance. im a die hard fan too but i also live in reality. do you think the Lions fans every year say “oh we are gonna make the playoffs!” NO! because they actually live in reality.

  • kerry

oh did anyone see the report on Maualuga during path to the draft?
yeah they had more bad things to say then good things. ill sum it up:

    Bad in coverage
    bad open field tackler
    too stiff in the hips
    slow for a MLB

and here is the cherry on top: Charley Casserly, a former GM, stated that Maualuga has no good fundamental football skills. but he hits hard. thats it! the best thing thay said was that he hits hard!! PFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTT. and this is the MLB that most are slobbering over? a guy who cant even make open field tackles?? the guy is a bum! clearly the product of having Matthews and Cushing around him. and this is the guy saome want in the first round. what a joke! this guy will be lucky to go in the first round at all now. his stock has dropped immensely.

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

What is with draft expert’s opinions on everyone’s hips? It’s kind of disturbing, like a strange fetish reserved to a certain few.

  • kerry

    Josh:

the hips thing signifies if a player can turn and run with a WR, or TE. CB’s especially are looked at for their hips. its called “flipping the hips” if you cant turn quick you cant stay with the offensive player while covering.

  • roshon2411

    Kerry,

You actually have said something I agree with… this team will be in the 4-12 to 6-10 range. Could be a long October thru November. As for Maualuga, you once again just regurgitate what other people say.

  • kerry

    Roshon2411:

yeah i posted what other guys said on NFL Network. SO WHAT?? its the truth. now if i posted that the Broncos just traded for Troy Smith, you would be doing backflips that i posted that. and for the record, ive been saying for months that Maualuga is overrated! anyone who posts on here knows that ive said this about Maualuga since the beginning of the offseason. so i havent “REGURGITATED” anything that i havent said months before the report on NFL Network which was just yesterday. ive said Maualuga was way overrated since the whole debate came up about who we should draft. first the debate started with Taylor Mays, then Maualuga. so im way ahead of the report on NFL Network and damn sure ahead of you.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    Kerry

I think you’ll be wrong about such a bad losing season… but we will see. I have “faith” that I’ll be right and you’ll be wrong ;) lol

  • Robert

    1 at Cincinnati W
    2 vs Cleveland W
    3 at Oakland W
    4 vs Dallas W
5 New England (close game we are at home) plus we do have a good record against them. (not counting last year lost that was humileating. hoping for payback. hate them.
    6 at San Diego L
    7 BYE
    8 Baltimore W
    9 Pittsburgh L
    10 at Washington W(payback)
11 vs San Diego W(if the the coach still wants his job.) really if we don’t beat them at home we are probally going to get anouther coach.
    12 vs N.Y. Giants L
    13 at Kansas City L
    14 at Indianapolis L
    15 vs Oakland W
16 at Philadelphia (too close to call I would say)
    17 vs Kansas City W

8-8 season. if we lose all the close games. 8-8, 9-7, 10-6,

the worse if the coach want his job,

he will lose it if it is 7-9 or lower. I’ll bet u.
funny, 4-0 start but we probally won’t win again till the 8 week. If we are still better then baltimore. if not, great start horrible middle. I hate to put them down but that sounds like them.
unless a sleeper game comes out of nowhere.
what games do u guys think the sleepers could come out if injuries happen. like New England. lol, that would be funny 2 years straight.

  • roshon2411

    Kerry,

OK draft expert, really, you most have missed this post you had back at the end of December. Sure seems you liked him then:

9 kerry { 12.30.08 at Tue Dec 30 11:44 }) ahhh draft talk. my favorite. but before i begin let me get some things out of the way before the dunderheads come in screaming. Julius Peppers, Nnamdi Asomugha are gonna be franchised. that has already been stated. so they wont be available in free agency. the Titans are already negotiating with Haynesworth so he more then likely wont be available. now that that is out of the way….let me begin.

I like Rey Maualuga alot. great potential. but if anyone remembers Shanahan wanted Johnathan Vilma BADLY this past offseason. Vilma is gonna be a free agent this offseason. (if the Saints resign him they forfeit their 1st round pick, so dont bet on the Saints resigning him) so look for Shanahan to get Vilma thus not drafting Maualuga (i prefer Maualuga)

Saftey is a need. but not as much as some think. Taylor Mays is a good one but has high bust potential like Micheal Huff had. Mays will run a 4.35-4.40 so look for Al Davis to draft him just on 40 time alone. William Moore has good size to go with speed. but doesnt warrent the 12th pick. perhaps a trade down to get Moore and a mid round pick would be ideal. keep an eye on Patrick Chung also to be drafted in the second round.

DE is a HUGE need. a great pass rush will make an average secondary great. now there really isnt a DE that is ELITE in this draft. guys like Brian Orakpo, Georgie Selvie are good but not great. my pick for the draft if a DE was taken would be Senderick Marks out of Auburn. he moved to DT this year but played DE before. he is 291 pounds. a 291 pound DE would be ideal to rush as well as stop the run.

DT is also a need. Haynesworth wont be available in free agency and yet again there isnt a real clear cut elite DT. that is unless Terrence Cody declares for the draft. this guy is 6′7, 365 pounds. not very polished but a huge body in the middle. but Shanahan doesnt like big DT’s so dont look for him to be a bronco.

CB needs to be addressed but in the later rounds. so ill skip that.

OL- again upgraded later in the draft.

    QB. no

    WR-NO

    TE-NO

RB-yes. a franchise RB is needed. its time for Shanahan to drop his ego of thinking he can turn bums into stars. Beanie Wells and Knowshown Moreno maybe available at the 12 pick. a franchise back would instantly take the pressure off Jay Cutler from having to throw the ball 45 times a game.

but all in all until the combine rools around its impossible to say who will actually be available at the 12 pick. Maualuga could have a stellar combine and be gone in the top 5. same with Taylor Mays and Terrence Cody.

Wow , I am speechless…. I tip my cap to you sir… I hope I never wrong you lol.

  • kerry

yes i rememeber that post quite clearly and i also know that was before i actually started watching more tape on Maualuga. and when i actually started watching him more often then just during the season i saw exactly what everybody is NOW saying about him.

  • roshon2411

Remember that post quite clearly? You just said you didn’t like Maulaluga from the beginning. So I think you didn’t remember this post at all. I forgot that you went to the combine and if your watching tape of Maualuga you need to get a life or a girlfriend. Come up with original thoughts and don’t follow the thoughts of people such as Charley Casserly.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    27 roshon2411 { 04.14.09 at Tue Apr 14 18:53 })

Dee, why not 16-0 then? If McD can get the Broncos to the playoffs with this schedule, give him a lifetime contract and not the Shanny lifetime contract.

I agree, if we get to the playoff’s , give McD the key to the city in addition to the lifetime contract.

  • Stav

Settle down girls – more and more I think that we are not going to go LB until the 2nd round and that we’ll go DL with both #1′s and regardless of what they are saying about Maualuga, he’s going in the first round faults and all. I mentioned Senderick Marks a few weeks ago as a 1st round potential pick for us, but figure him, Jackson, Ron Brace, and Raji if somehow he miraculously falls to #12. Clint Sintim might get a flyer from us at LB if he makes it to the 2nd round as he played in Al Groh’s 3-4. The main thing is that if the DL is doing their job regardless of the 3-4 or 4-3, your LB’s are free to fly around and hit somebody, so our focus should lie in upgrading an undersized DL. If the OL is being obstructed by the DL, you don’t need superstars at LB, just solid wrap tacklers who can cover when needed. Going LB with the third pick makes sense I think, but only if they can obtain the targeted DL payers at #12 and #18, which could be possible.

  • kerry

    Roshon2411:

since we are posting old posts here is one done in march, LOOOONG before the Charley Casserly report

:kerry { 03.05.09 at Thu Mar 05 15:52 }) i cannot believe anyone is even mentioning Maualuga anymore. the guy is not that good, if anyone actually reads scouting reports and not just watch the rose bowl, Cushing, Matthews and Laurinitis are all ranked higer then Maualuga in temrms of being better fundamental, NFL ready LB’s. if anyone watched the combine, Maualuga doesnt have the agility or the ability to flip his hips to cover a TE or WR over the middle which 3-4 MLB’s are demanded to do. if we dont get Raji we can trade down for Rin Brace. he is gonna go higher then most think because of all the teams in need of a massive NT. a trade down to 20-25 rnage while acquiring an extra 3rd round pick while getting Brace would be ideal. im so sick of the Maualuga Cronies saying we have to draft him at 12 when he isnt even the best LB on his team, let alone the whole draft. and especially when the D-line is the most important position that needs to be addressed. Tyson Jackson, Brian Orakpo, Brian Cushing or Clay Matthews will be selected before Maualuga is.

um yeah im following Casserly’s thoughts alright. PPFFFTTTT. no i didnt go to the combine, watching tape on a guy is as simple as pulling games off the internet. or are you not that smart? i always watch film of players that im debating about. and no i dont need a girlfriend because im married with 3 kids. clearly ive posted the bad things about Maualuga before Charlie Casserly did.

  • kerry

    Roshon2411:

and here is another one i did in January:

kerry { 01.22.09 at Thu Jan 22 09:41 }) yes. we are in DIRE need of a NT. we are in no way in DIRE need of a MLB. we need a safety MUCH more the another LB. if this team has any chance of competing this year they have up upgrade the D-line. no questions about it. with our offense and an improved defense then we can compete. sorry everybody but a MLB will in NO way make the D-line better. but a better D-line will make our current LB’s better. Maualuga isnt the guy. unless the D-line is upgraded in free agency then Raji HAS to be the pick. impact DT’s are hard to come by. and Raji is an impact DT with freakish ability. i think the love fest for Maualuga comes from some people watching the rose bowl game and not actually thinking about the most dire need for this team. same thing happened last year when everybody was screaming for Rashard Mendenhall.

do i need to bring up more?? because i can. since you wanna keep running your mouth about things you dont know about.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    Kerry,

Well played. I do recall that post and for the most part I agree you’ve been down on drafting Rey… thats why the other post from Decemeber was so shocking to me.

On other point is all player rankings change quite a bit (up and down) before the draft … I mean look at a guy like William Moore who was considered first round talent by “experts” and now isnt even mentioned. With Rey I think his draft stock was alot higher pre combine and has dipped.

  • roshon2411

Well you might want to take the extra time and spend it with your kids. As for your post, that was a month ago, that was after Maulaluga fell down all the experts drafts boards. You just play follow the leader and you’re playing the part of the lemming.

  • roshon2411

How about this post about Raji, you didn’t think he would be worth the 12 pick and thought he would go in the mid second round. Until you once again read some crap on the internet and changed your mind.

    11 kerry { 12.30.08 at Tue Dec 30 11:54 }) MIABronco:

i checked on BJ Raji. looks good. i dont watch Youtube videos though because they dont tell you anything about conedrills or Shuttle times. Raji isnt even projected to go until the mid second round. so why waste the 12th pick on this guy?? and Carlton Powell barely is 300 pounds and coming off a major Achilles injury. he wont be a factor at all in the upcoming season. Shanahan has to stop with these smaller DT’s. they dont work!!

  • TD30isMVP

The schedule looks brutal, no matter if Shanny was here, or Cutler it will be a monster and expectations for a new system with new players should not be very high (the “old” team would not have done good with this schedule.
The draft (at least the first round) really doesn’t excite me this year because anybody we pick up may start but none are ready to be 3-4 stars out of the gate. If we package and trade up for a quarterback I think that would be a waste this year (next year looks better IMO). If we package and move up for Defense it would suprise me since the Patriot way is to get good system players not superstars. Usually I am giddy waiting for the draft but not so much this year, just hope we get strong servicable players in our areas of need.

  • myerda00

If you just take the big name teams (Pit, NE, etc) as losses, that is 9.
So that means we could go 7-9. Not bad for rookie Coach.
Now lets say we steal three of those 9, that leaves 6 loses.
Record would be 10-6. GREAT season.
But lets also say we lose one or two we should not, then we end with 9-7 or 8-8 which would be 4/5 more games then anyone ANYONE expected in Coach McDaniels first year.

  • JRODZ

8-8, 2-14, 14-2 – I don’t care! It’s April and I’m planning my trip to Denver for the Nov. 9 game against Pittsburgh! Broncos football is back! GET FIRED UP!

  • DC

That will be a great game. I am ashamed I had to drop my season tix, but I can’t afford it these days. But I am going to Philly with my Dawk jersey on. That will be a once in a lifetime opportunity! Any way, I think we need 2 DL in the 1st and 2nd. Raji, Jackson, Brace, or Ziggy Hood who I think could be a great 5 tech. But we DO need and OLB. Moss and or D0om will both have a hard time transitioning. They both can’t cover a RB or a TE which sux. But I’m sure there will be different packages we put in place to get that right.

  • broncobobmeridian

Here’s a thought——- Now that we have all these draft picks, what do you think it would cost us to trade for Peppers? He would make our D a hell of alot better. I cant see it would cost us more than a second rounder.

  • DC

    We don’t have the money.

  • BroncoinVA9986

yea we do DC we still have MAD cap space.

  • broncobobmeridian

The more i think about, the more it make since if we could aford him. If were going to be using a hybrid 3-4 system, have him and Dumervil, and draft someone to play MLB. Our D would actually put some pressure on opposing teams. That was our bigest problem last year. The guys on the D-line last year that got cut, had no business being in the NFL >

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

    Wow…

    Roshon

You keep ragging on Kerry for actually posting something of substance. Whether he gets his facts from ESPN analysts or his own research, at least he is posting something relevant. All you are doing is pointing out how his mind has changed about players (imaging that) and attacking him personally about how he spends his time. I would be more than pissed if you even mentioned my kids in your post.

Find something relevant to ADD to the conversation, or keep your posts to yourself.

  • http://bungie.net BroncoLover4Life

Brutal schedule for sure. Maybe 9-7 at best. But I know KC and OAK’s schedules are almost as tough as ours.

Has anyone seen SD’s schedule yet? If it’s as tough as KC and OAK we have a decent shot at winning the devision…

I’m gonna run on over to NFL.com and check out SD’s schedule and get back to you guys… could be a throw up devision like last year.

first of all. dont talk about my kids WHATSOEVER. you run your mouth online which speaks volumes of what type of person you really are. and EVERYBODY has varying opinions of players coming out of college and when they actually do research like i do then you find things out about players that make your opinion go up or down about those players. you on the other hand sont contribute a single thing other then unfounded reasoning and attacks that unwarrented. ive been posting on here for quite a while now and though some may not agree with my posts or my straight forward opinions, i do bring a high level of football knowledge that always sparks discussion and debate. you dont do shit except run your mouth. d0nt talk about my children ever again. you wanna have a debate then be a man and debate and discuss, dont bring in my life or my family. be a man not some internet tough guy who talks hardcore from his keyboard.

I never said anything about your kids. You brought your family up not me and you’re the one who talks shit. Claim to be a so called expert and bash other peoples opinions. Who the hell are you? You’re a fan just like the rest of us on this site. My point is you just copy and paste analysis from others and post it as your own. • JayCutlersMom

You know if the Broncos played with as much intensity as Roshon and Kerry we would probably make the playoffs. To bad Kerry is worried about his kids on the broncos blog. I really hope both of you are 12 year old boys, not grown men arguing over whose opinion is better. Now I see where Cutler gets it from…………hahahah

  • Robert

I take it back I am now predicting 9-7 10-6 season. why? after doing research, we apparently pick up some good players during the playoffs and offseason. including stars from other teams. not to metion some rumors going around about secret meetings.

without culter I think we are going to have a better season. we got the hard schedule to give us a challenge, not punishment.

  • Robert

here the thing that gets me. we won’t know how good the Broncos are going to be until the Cincinnati game happens. week 1 of reguler season. preseason is just a way of say “pratice”. means nothing really. Broncos don’t play half as good in preseason. the play in the reguler season. seen it year after year. I just wish the first game was a home game. last year we hade to go to the raiders baseball staduim to play the first game. I was like what the…… are they that poor to not have their own staduim? come on. ether that or they just don’t care one way or another. I hope Cincinnati has at least a football staduim. and heck with San Diego. they are still the runts of the league. we shouldn’t have to worry about them.

if things keep progressing the way they are now, Denver worst team is going to be the broncos. last year I wouldn’t believe what is going on now. Nuggets? going to the playoffs? ok nothing new. they just can’t win. advancing to 2nd round? what the……. Did I fall down a rabbit hole? Rockies going back downhill, becouse of pitching, what a surprise. rapids? who? most people here probally don’t even know we have a soccer team. We might not even know if the went to their championship and won. oh and we got a team called the outlaws. don’t know the name of the sport they play. but I heard we are somehow good. still think its a dumb name for a denver team. 1 maybe 2to3, hear nothing about soccer or (whatever sport its called) good teams here. yet we pay so much for sports too.

idk, Broncos could blow everybody out of the water. they use to be our best sport team here. also most popular. hopeing they can get out of this slump.

but I do have on q. I heard somewhere Denver/colorado fans are hard to please. is that true?

Dee – I love the way you’re thinking, but there is no way we will beat Pittsburgh or Baltimore. You say that we’ve beat Pittsburgh the last two times we’ve played them? Do you remember the AFC Title Game? That was in our house and they beat us in every single way possible. I know because I was there. As far as Baltimore goes, they were a team that went to the playoffs last year with a ROOKIE QB! Baltimore’s D is always going to be top notch as long as Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are playing. You say that there is no way that they will outscore us?? Our D couldn’t stop ANYONE last year, and I don’t see how that’s changed. We’ve done nothing to our D Line to make us better, and teams that pound the ball will do well against us. 11-5 is not going to happen…not this year at least.

How could Pat buy into all this?! Orton as a starter?! C’mon, Simms was the only save from ebarassment we had last night. Let’s get real, there’s no superbowl chance for at least a couple (more likely 3) years. Won’t see my behind filling any Invesco seat nor wearing any rookie team apparel. And McDaniels? He already proved to me he talks out both sides of his mouth, and has been caught in lies more than once. But some out there, those lala land inhabitants, still want to believe him. No thanks. His reality will be a losing season, and it’s really too bad – the Bronco’s used to be something, used to mean something to us. I don’t know who or what they are anymore. But Pat obviously doesn’t care if they are a team that Colorado can get behind. Maybe he’s planning on selling them next year and is trying to assure he has a valid reason. Maybe move them to the east coast with their east coast offense Bella-chick wannabe coach?

  • http://google corey

  • robtink242

OMG how did you guys find this post

  • Brian

What has our issue been with Denver for the past 3 years? Not the Offense and Cutler which last year was ranked 3 in Offense in the NFL, but our sorry defense which was ranked last year 29th and 32nd against the run.

Now McDumby tore apart the Rank 3 offense firing the Offensive geniuses that put that together. He drove away our best QB since Elway. He has driven a wedge with Marshall.

What has he done with the D? He hired Mike Nolan to run it and got Dawkins who is a Coverage guy. Did he improve the D line which allowed more yards against it than the Detroit Lions? NOOOOOOOOO.

Josh McDaniels has not shown anything that he is like his teacher who makes a balanced team. Belli-cheat is a Defensive minded coach that knows that he needs to be balanced made a system around Brady.

McDaniels did not and could not come up with a system for Cutler because the one we had worked.

Now saying that. We have a crappy schedule with two QBs that get hurt alot. Orton and Simms we will be sometime this season going to our 3rd String QB.

Saying that people lets look at the schedule:

1 Sun. Sept. 13th at Cincinnati – Denver always on the road opening day and for the past 5 years we usually lose it. Raiders game last year was the exception. DENVER LOSES.
2 Sun. Sept. 20th vs Cleveland – Cleveland is away and usually loses to us the past few years. DENVER WINS.
3 Sun. Sept. 27th at Oakland – Denver will lose here. Oakland under Cable beat us in Denver last year and now they are going for a run smash mouth system. We cannot stop the run. DENVER LOSES.
4 Sun. Oct. 4th vs Dallas – Marion Barber is going to be huge in this game. Same with Jones. DENVER LOSES.
5 Sun. Oct. 11th vs New England – Patriots under Belli-Cheat will kill us because I believe McDaniels was sent to destroy the team. And Brady will be awesome. DENVER LOSES.
6 Mon. Oct. 19th at San Diego – When was the last time we beat San Diego in San Diego? DENVER LOSES.
7 BYE – DENVER DOES NOT LOSE.
8 Sun. Nov. 1st at Baltimore – Falco, a dangerous running attack and one of the best Defenses in the NFL with Ray Lewis and the Ravens at home. DENVER LOSES.

    DENVER 3 -13

Go Number 1 draft pick and have McDaniels blow it on a bad QB choice.

  • Frank Houle

What’s the starting time of that game?

  • http://google corey

hey brain,i mean brian, stick to your day job picking football games is not your forte, broncos will finish with 8 to 9 wins wont make the playoffs and will get two high first round picks thanks to the bears less than steller season under the cry baby cutler, although our schedule is tough the chargers radiers and cheifs have to play it to so if the broncos can just concentrate on there division they just might make the playoffs,i watched the chargers and the falcons last nite and was not and have not been that impressed with phillip rivers,92 million ???????are you kiddin me,what are those guys smokin down there? whatever it is i got to get me some of that stuff, joe montana in his prime wasnt worth that kinda dough,

  • Doc

No doubt Cutler has a big mouth but it seems its a comman trait among talented athletes anymore. Losing Cutler hurts, theres no doubt about it; the Bears definitely got the better end of the deal. But as the Broncos trudge toward week 9, 10 and 11, well lets hope they have their game faces on.

  • http://broncotalk.net J MAC

All right guys..I have been going back and forth on how I feel about the Broncos as of late:

    1) I’m glad Cutler is gone – whinny little Vanderbilt brat that could not beat Buffalo to get us in the playoffs. He also looked terrible in the pro bowl-it was embarrassing
    2) I’m also glad that we are getting rid of Marshall. He will have legal troubles the rest of his life and is a huge liabilty. He is a huge crybaby just like Cutler and we are better off without him.
    3) I will always be a huge Bronco fan whether we win or lose but I think we will be lucky to be 8-8 this year. Does not matter to me because I will live and die by every moment for every game!
    4) Josh McDaniels tore this team apart…BUT…it had to be for a certain reason. Pat Bowlen knows what he is doing and there is a reason why the Patriots were so dominant the last 6 or 7 years. And guess who was a HUGE part of that…McDaniels!!!
    5) Stick by Orton for a couple of years. Compare his stats to Cutlers…he is a winner and won in Chicago with no weapons. I know they had a good defense but he will have a great running game and Eddie Royal who will have a KILLER year!!

Any way you look at it…whether we go 11-5 or 2-12, if you are a true Broncos fan then stick by the team! There is a reason why those guys work in the NFL and we don’t. There is a reason why Josh was chosen as our head coach and not us! They know what’s up and will always do what is best for the TEAM!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. What is the deal with everyone saying we will get Bradford or Tebow in the draft next year? Are we even in the top 10 for draft picks next year?

  • soulmanSD

This is the year that you forget about your city and root for your division, namely, the AFC West.
The cards have dealt a hard hand on Denver, K.C. and Oakland, all have a scramble for coaches and QB’s (and WR’s and RB’s).
The single good hand is San Diego. They are not only offensively up there with any top team in the NFL (look at the stats and stop moaning) but they’re defense is playoff seasoned and now healthy and will feature at least 3 pro-bowl selections (Jamer, Marriman, Cromartie). Coach Rivera has the whole year this time and it will show immediately in a Steeler-like aggression only with higher turnover ratio’s.
This is your dose of orange medicine for H1-N1 Flu and Bronco, tear-in-my-Coors beer sorrow. There is a lot that comes from losing, high draft picks. Just ask Al Davis.
The West, baby the West! It strikes lightning on the 50th anniversary and over-due San Diego is destine to thromp the Colts (last year), the Steelers (this year),
and my pick from the NFC, the Bears to meet the Chargers in the SuperBowl.
    Chargers 34, Bears 21

  • SeahawkFan

Denver traded their number 1 pick to the Seahawks during the draft. Thankfully, looks like you are going to suck this year. I think Brian’s analysis is spot-on, and the Seahawks will thank you for the high draft pick.

Those of you who think the Broncos will have more than 6 wins this year are doing some serious drugs. It’s been a pleasure watching the Broncos self-destruct this off-season!

  • http://broncotalk.net J MAC

SOULMANSD – WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU SMOKING!!!! This is the Denver Broncos fan site – not the cry baby choke artist Chargers site – as a matter of fact, we should have traded Cutler and Marshall to you guys to complete your team of idiots. I mean steroid boy and Tila Tequilla HA HA HA HA! Give me a break dude!! Also, you obviously don’t have a clue about football if you picked the Bears to go to the Super Bowl. I hope you got a gut check when you watched Cutler throw 4 interceptions last night DB!! Their defense might be pretty solid but there is no way that offense will hold up against a good defensive team.

    Patriots vs Packers/Saints

    GO BRONCOS!!

    BTW –

    Week 11 (AT DENVER)
    Denver 28 San Diego 21

  • http://broncotalk.net J MAC

    Hey SeahawkFan,

I’m glad that you are a Bronco hater. There is no reason for Bronco fans to hate the Seahawks since you guys have sucked so bad for so many years.

Although you gained several players, you also lost a few solid ones as well – Rocky Bernard and Bobby Engram. Great job on beating the worst team in the NFL this weekend so keep those dreams of coming in second in the great NFC West alive! Don’t expect Hasselbeck to stay healthy this year either so sorry buddy!!

As far as Denver’s season goes – How did we self destruct during the offseason? Because we traded a quarterback that complains constantly who has a intercepption and fumbling problem (4 ints against the Packers last night) or because we had to suspend a WR who was going to be released anywaybecause he is a cancer and a woman beater (TOs twin brother!)?

Get your facts straight before you make stupid a@$ comments. Go back to Starbucks for another latte and to cheer on your great Seahawks!!

  • http://N/a melissa mcnutt

the broncos have a good definsive of line this year so .. thier gonna beat the cowboys on OCT. 4th

  • http://kellyleephipps.com Kelly in Carolina

After seeing all the teams play this weekend, the season for us really gets hard in game 8 vs. the Ravens and then the Steelers, but we could go 10-6 with this schedule if the Offense gets in sync like the Defense. Luckily we have a few games to work at it leading up to Dallas and NE.

  • juan from nm

ok guys the only thing that we should worry about is getting better. i think that we will win the fist 4 but im nit sure abiut them getting more than 7 wins. we would have been ok if that new stupid coach didnt get rid of cutler but he might still want to be with broncos if you think abiut it cuase he chise a team with the exact same colors. the only difference is the name

  • http://tmobilemail.com sam thy

man….tough schedule….but I say we can win the afc west but its gonna be a fight wit san diego and for some reason I say oakland might be a fight too…but we’re gonna be coming off a two weeks of hard practice and playin against new england and dallas to play diego so I see a win there…

as long as or defense and offense gets a rthym and become sync…I think we have a good chance wit the afc west and somethin better den the wildcard

  • lauren

i have never really been a broncos fan until this year, when my boyfriend introduced me to them. but i have strong faith in this team. on sunday my boyfriend thought we were going to lose, and i had kept the faith and felt optimistic about us winning, and within the next couple of minutes, we had won! Stokley had won the whole thing for us! i believe in miracles, and i think this year we will have a pretty good chance..I have my faith.

  • http://tmobilemail.com sam thy

    and by the way…..

we love the broncos in cali too

    showin some cali love

  • http://broncotalk.net J MAC

  • http://tmobilemail.com sam thy

    browns who?

  • juan

HELL YEA….. denver is doing good so far the games that I’m a little worried about are cowboys and san diego. but it should be close. we still need a little more work though

  • guest

i agree with juan. we're doing awesome so far and i'm thinking we're gonna make it 4-0 but from there we could go downhill. i think we're gonna win against san diego, but dallas, eh, that's a tough one. i think we'll be looking at an 11-5 season, 9-7 at the very worst. i think we can definately make playoffs as long as our team keeps playing like they did in cleveland.

  • Name

hey idiot, what are you thinking now? after 3 weeks into the season, we are halfway to the win total you predicted, you moron!!

  • Name

oops, sorry, i owe you an apology, tryin to respond to the one below you

  • Name

moron, what are you thinking bout them 6 wins now, idioso!!

  • Name

I agree, but there is a chance that we could go 3-5 by the time we get to washington. Although, Mcdaniels has made some great improvements to our defense and Kyle Orton has not done as bad as I thought he would, but he needs to do better.

  • zbroncsy

well heck we won four wins im liking the way this seasons starting our d's been winning our games though i beleive that this is the first time orton threw over 200 yards this season

  • xxDestroyer

absolutely not!!!! we're 4-0 and we could go 5!!!

  • xxDestroyer

You could be right, but I think we could beat the Redskins, which would make us 12-4… and I sort of doubt beating Pittsburg, but I suppose it's possible.

  • Anonymous

With our 4-0 start, I think we could go up to 12-4 but nothing more, and no worse than 8-8. Who agrees?

  • Name

    SUPER BOWL!!!!!!

I’m simply cracking up at you. I can’t believe you thought we would lose to THE RAIDERS. We’re 5-0 pal. 3-13, seriously? I think you’re just a Raiders fan trying to pass off as a Denver fan. I’m also in shock at everyone who’s so “I see 6 wins max” or “we’re going 5-11 this year”. People need to be a bit more optimistic. I think we could go 12-4.

I think orton has def proved himself and filled cutlers shoes. Broncos have a wild card chance and are gonna prove themself as long as they can get there defense back together

Now McDumby tore apart the Rank 3 offense firing the Offensive geniuses that put that together. He drove away our best QB since Elway. He has driven a wedge with Marshall.
