I think the Broncos had two chances to put a couple studs on the field this year and blew it. Hightower out of Alabama that they really needed and the CB Jenkins another piece that they really could have used. I just can’t understand their way of thinking unless they think they couldn’t afford those guys.

     Really?

    Great response, Einstein.

Terrible draft for us.  Just terrible.

  • King

Yep.  Boykin was stolen by the Eagles.   Somebody call 911.

Boykin is another Champ Bailey.  Just watch.

  • King

I agree and I’ll add Brandon Boykin to your list.  Future pro bowler once he puts on a little NFL weight.

  • Speer

Exactly, he took a full year off, which means he’s 100% now.  If he tried to play through surgery then I would be worried, but he didn’t so…  What’s the problem?  This guy is a steal.

  • Speer

If he played last season he could have gone in the first round and some other team would have grabbed him.  I forgot where I came across that information but it’s out there.

Since he was a 4th round selection it just might turn out to be a steal.  And yes, he sat out a whole year to recover… he had a torn ACL. That is not your average run of the mill injury and surgery.  Again, I hope he’s turns our to be the steal of the draft.

You have to believe Del Rio and Fox know what they’re doing when it comes to evaluating defensive talent.  They obviously saw something they really liked, which is good by me.

I just watched the top three’s press conferences myself and liked most of it.

Brock was, IMO, humble and impressive at the same time. I was impressed as well that he got the text from Peyton. Tells me that Peyton may be interested in the “tutoring role” a little more than he seemed to be with Painter. Brock could very well be the future guy and I hope he does prove the haters wrong. Did I just use the hater thing? lol.

I found Derek to be a little dry. He seemed to me to be as disappointed in not going to the Ravens as he is happy to be a Bronco. He didn’t seem near as cordial or inviting as the other two but that could be nerves I suppose or what ever else. It will be interesting to see how he pans out VS what we passed on. Time will tell!

Ronnie seems like a great kid with an outstanding attitude. He was almost too shy and seemed a bit overwhelmed by it all. That, I think, will pass pretty quickly though and I hope he stays humble. I didn’t think that Knowshow ever showed any of that humbleness and he flopped. Clearly they are two completely different types of personalities and Ronnie’s is inviting and refreshing. Of course it only matters in the long run what you do on the field. Of all of our picks this one has me the most excited.

haha well I’m 6’1 so they are a little longer than that.

Doom – one other thing I observed in the EFX post draft press conference is how comfortable and confident Elway is getting in his new role.  What a difference a year makes!!!

Between Elway, Fox, Del Rio and McCoy I believe we now are among the best when it comes to overall leadership.

Yeah I have to admit that on the first day of the draft I was questioning that, but that was on emotion I do believe. I think you’re right he is seemingly very confident and comfortable. Xanders on the other still seems a bit like a fish out of water. Nothing he says seems genuine to me, its almost like he rehearses what to say or something, cant put a finger on it though.

When Fox was asked a question that seemed like it was something about Del Rio’s input on a player(s) it seems like it didn’t count for much as Fox basically said “he’ll coach what we give him, thats his job”. I’m not sure I liked that attitude. Jack’s got the juice in my opinion to have some major input, not final say but heavy input just the same.

Love everything I’m seeing on Derek Wolfe’s tape. Lots of upside with the Osweiler pick. Hillman was nuts at SDSU, breaking many Marshall Faulk records there. And Omar’s pre-injury ability was certainly equal if not better than top 3rd round CB’s Trumaine Johnson and Josh Robinson. Roll in a big body with Blake to compete at C, Trevathan the SEC back-to-back tackle leader, and a high-ceiling pass rusher Malik Jackson and I say it’s a heck of a draft.

If he was faster his size would be great but I agree going against recievers that are generally over 6′ tall and over 200lbs hes not gonna be able to bump and run. He better get a lot faster if he ever wants to be a viable starter.
