Broncos 37, Raiders 6 — you know what a victory means, fellas. Give out your BT Game Balls!
Eric Decker:
I have been hard on
Eric Decker basically since he has been a rookie. Whether it was that he was a better punt/kick returner than receiver or that he was only good to catch every third pass that came his way. When I say pictures of him last off-season hanging out with
Kyle Orton and
Larry Fitzgeraldin Minnesota it basically assured any doubt in my mind that he was just playing teacher’s pet. This off-season was no different, the
Denver Broncos sign
Peyton Manning, Manning and Decker go on sobatical. The season starts and Decker turns in some atrocious stat lines. Then week three happens, then week four happens. I now declare Decker the real deal, even if he didn’t happen to close his thighs on what could have been his second touchdown reception on Sunday.  —

Dan Koppen:When J.D. Walton went down with an ankle injury early on in the game, there was reason for concern in Denver. Walton’s replacement, a veteran named Dan Koppen, discredited those concerns by helping the offensive line protect quarterback Peyton Manning well enough for him to throw for 338 yards and three scores. After convincingly thumping a division rival in Week 4, several Denver Broncos have been nominated for weekly awards on NFL.com. Quarterback Peyton Manning and running back Willis McGahee have been nominated as FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Week.
Voting is open at NFL.com/GMC from Monday through Thursday.  Manning (30-of-38 for 338 yards and 3 TDs) is up against New England’s Tom Brady (22-of-36 for 340 yards and 3 TDs) and Atlanta’s Matt Ryan (25-of-40 for 369 yards and 3 TDs) in the voting.
McGahee (19 carries for 112 yards and a score) is joined by New England’s Brandon Bolden (16 carries for 137 yards and a score) and Tennessee’s Chris Johnson (25 carries for 141 yards and no scores) in the voting. Â Of note is the fact that Johnson’s rushing total was in a losing effort.
Manning’s 300+ yard effort marked his 65th 300-yard game, which is an NFL record. Â McGahee’s 100+ yard effort marked his 32nd 100-yard game, which ranks first among all active NFL players.
Remember to vote on NFL.com! Â Once you’ve voted, let us know (@BroncoTalk)!
All indications seem to be that veteran center Dan Koppen will start against his former team, the New England Patriots, on Sunday.  Koppen jumped in the lineup last week when starter J.D. Walton suffered an ankle injury against the Raiders; the Broncos placed Walton on injured reserve the next day, clearing the way for Koppen to get his first start of the season.
Koppen (6-2, 300 lbs.) is a ten-year veteran who was Tom Brady‘s center from 2001-2010.  Interestingly, Koppen—who has three Super Bowl rings from his New England days—is also the NFL’s all-time winningest offensive lineman with an overall career record of 107-31 (.775 pct.).
The Broncos will also get linebacker Joe Mays and tight end Virgil Green back this week, both of whom are coming off of suspensions.  Additionally, linebacker Mike Mohamed has been waived.
The Broncos will travel to New England to take on the Patriots this week. Â Kickoff is scheduled for 2:25 p.m. (MT) and the game will be broadcast on CBS.

- The Denver Broncos waxed the Oakland Raiders at home and once again look like an AFC powerhouse. [DenverBroncos.com]
- Peyton Manning had nearly a perfect game. The Raiders were lucky as it could have been much, much worse for them. [NFL.com]
- The last two losses were tough to swallow, but not nearly as bad in hindsight as both of those teams sit at 4-0 and are favorites to win it all now. [SI.com]
- Oh and did you here? The Broncos destroyed the Raiders 37-6. [BroncoTalk.net]
- So this is what $100 million buys? It was definitely money well spent! Â Losing at home to the Raiders every year since 2007 was absolutely unacceptable as a fan…a blowout win is euphoric! [Denver Post]
- My biggest concern post-Tebow was the running game, since he was obviously able to open that up last year. Consider those concerns alleviated, with the Broncos running all over the Raiders yesterday. Not only that, Darren McFadden was dominated by the Orange Crush defense. [Denver Post]

Finally, a Denver Broncos team that doesn’t play down to its competition.
The Broncos welcomed the Oakland Raiders into their stadium in Week Four the same way a cat welcomes a mouse into its den. The Broncos played with the Raiders. The Broncos toyed with them. They bruised them up and left a few scratches, but left the Raiders’ hope alive. The Broncos had their AFC West rival dangling by the tail as the second half came to a close, leading only 10-6.
Then the Broncos crushed the Raiders with unrelenting force.
The third quarter told the tale of the Broncos’ game, as the Broncos (2-2) outscored Oakland 21-0, out-rushed them 67-11 yards, and out-passed them 113 to none. Peyton Manning was magnificent in his breakout Broncos game, completing 30 of 38 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns (130.0 rating). Willis McGahee ran for 112 yards on 19 carries.
But most impressively, today we saw the team operate as an effective unit. The defense swarmed after Raiders QB Carson Palmer, and the offense found its rhythm early. The Broncos today showed that the promises of the offseason can and will be fulfilled with Peyton Manning under the fold.
And doing it against the Raiders made it all the sweeter.

2012 Week 4 – Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos – The BT GameBlog.
We’re trying a different format for this week. Follow me on Twitter @BroncoTalk for updates throughout the game, otherwise keep it locked into the comments below. We’ll be here discussing the game through all four quarters, posting stats, and more!
FOURTH QUARTER
The fourth quarter has been a matter of the Broncos maintaining their strong lead, and trying to get out of the game healthy. Outside of one big fourth down throw, the defense has been relentless, while Ronnie Hillman has been seeing plenty of action offensively. They added two field goals to their total, leading 37-6.
THIRD QUARTER
'Nuff said.
…Also known as, when the Broncos bust this sh** open. Continually forcing three and outs. Blocked punt by special special teamsman David Bruton. Three long, unstoppable touchdown drives. The Broncos went into the half with a 10-6 lead and turned it into a 31-6 lead in just over ten minutes.
Peyton Manning is currently 22 of 27 for 256 yards and two touchdowns.

The Denver Broncos have announced three roster moves a little more than 24-hours before their game in Denver versus the Oakland Raiders.
Middle linebacker Mike Mohamed and strong safety Duke Ihenacho have been activated from the Broncos practice squad and strong safety Quinton Carter has been added to the Broncos’ injured reserve.
Carter (a 2011 fourth round pick) came on strong during the final weeks of Denver’s 2011 season, nabbing interceptions in both of the Broncos’ playoff games. Carter hasn’t been able to return to his 2011 form participating on special teams and notching two special teams tackles in three games.
Mohamed (a 2011 sixth round pick) spent most of 2011 on Denver’s practice squad, not being activated to the active roster until November 29th. Mohamed did not have a regular season statistic in 2011 and was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad earlier this month, before being cut and re-signing with Denver three days ago.
Ihenacho (a 2012 undrafted free agent) has spent the first three weeks of the season on the Broncos’ practice squad. He was graded out as one of the top strong safeties in the draft, figuring to be picked in the fifth round.
Both Ihenacho and Mohamed look to add third string depth and weak positions, as well as filling in on special teams. Look for safety David Bruton to bump up to Carter’s old position and fill in directly behind Mike Adams.

- Just to drive that point home, both coaches like John Fox and players hailed the return of the regulars. That alone should tell us all just how terrible the replacements were. Good riddance! [Denver Post]
