If the Denver Broncos sign free agent quarterback Peyton Manning, it was been widely assumed that the team would then trade quarterback Tim Tebow. We at BT however aren’t so sure that the team would trade Tebow in such a scenario.
There is at least one player in Denver’s locker room that agrees, stating that Tebow would not request to be traded if the team acquired Manning. Fifth-year offensive tackle Tony Hills, who was a first-year Bronco last season, was on the Vinny and Robo Show on KaoticRadio on Monday evening and said Manning and Tebow could coexist on the same team.
When asked if he thought Tebow would ask for a trade if Denver acquired Manning, Hills said: “That’s tough, I feel like only Tebow could answer that question — but I can say based off of his character and from hanging out with him and playing with him this past season, that he’s just somebody that wants to learn — he wants to win. If Peyton came, I feel like they would be able to coexist,” Hills told the Vinny and Robo Show.
Hills noted that Tebow would accept the role of learning under Manning, with the goal of getting better in mind.
“I feel like he [Tebow] would do everything in his power to learn the tricks of the trade. When you have a Hall of Fame quarterback right there that you can pick up things from and ask questions, that’s a great thing, especially when guys are always trying to get better.”
“Based off of his character, I do think he would be able to coexist with Manning, but like I said you would have to ask him,” concluded Hills.

We knew that former Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Stokley — a former teammate of Peyton Manning‘s — stopped by Dove Valley on Saturday to help the Broncos try to sway Manning.
What we didn’t know was that Stokley also ran about fifty routes for Manning on Saturday morning at Castle Rock Park. Stokley said Manning looked great and his arm looked like it did “six years ago,” according to the Denver Post‘s Mike Klis.
“I’ll put whatever reputation I have on the line behind that guy right now. He looks great,” Stokley told Klis.
Stokley, 35, is also a free agent and is very familiar with Manning, so we wonder if Denver would be interested in signing him, too — if the team landed Manning. Click here to read the rest of this entry »

When free agency begins tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2:00 p.m. (MT), the Denver Broncos will have a lot of money to spend and plenty of positions to upgrade.
Running back may be among the positions that Denver will pursue, and a certain division rival’s RB can see himself in a Broncos uniform, per BoltBeat.com. San Diego Chargers‘ free agent running back Mike Tolbert considers Denver among seven possible destinations for himself this off-season.
Appearing on a SiriusXM NFL Radio program hosted by Adam Schein on Monday, Tolbert listed the Buccaneers, Steelers, Giants, Broncos, Chiefs, Packers and Dolphins as possible fits. Whether those seven teams would be interested is unknown, but we agree that Tolbert would be a good fit for Denver. Click here to read the rest of this entry »

The Denver Broncos, and several other teams, have been in contact with free agent quarterback Peyton Manning’s agent, Tom Condon today, according to the Denver Post‘s Mike Klis.
Talks are no more than preliminary though, because Manning has not yet decided where he will finish his career and wants to take today to rest, work out and clear his mind, according to two NFL sources.
Per Klis, there are six teams — Miami, Arizona, San Francisco, Tennessee, Houston and Denver — that are actively pursuing Manning. According to reports, Manning is expected to meet with the Dolphins and Titans in the coming days. There has been speculation that Manning will also meet with the Texans, but that has not been confirmed.
As MaxDenver.com‘s Andrew Mason has pointed out, this is the first and only time in Manning’s career that he’ll get to explore free agency, so he’ll explore every possible destination. Mason went on to note that Broncos fans should not be overly concerned because the team gave Manning a great sales pitch and they are feeling good about their chances.
Here we go… Things will get fun over the next few days.

If NFL draft scouts based their rankings on professionalism and character, John Lynch and Brandon Stokley probably would have been among the top five picks in their respective draft classes.
Both players were pretty good on the field, as well. A former safety who won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lynch was known as one of the hardest hitting safeties of his time. Stokley, who won two Super Bowls — one in Baltimore and one in Indianapolis — caught over 330 passes for 4,680 yards and 34 touchdowns during his career.
The two players spent time together in Denver, during the final years of their respective careers. Although they never won a Super Bowl with the Broncos, the combined three-time Super Bowl Champions are trying to get Denver back to the Super Bowl by helping the team recruit free agent quarterback Peyton Manning, who was a teammate of Stokley’s for four years.
When Manning was visiting the Broncos’ facility in Dove Valley on Saturday, Lynch and Stokley stopped by to try and help sway him towards Denver, according to multiple sources. Their presence, and whatever they told him, may have helped — as sources say that Manning is “leaning towards Denver.”
Stokley and Lynch are two class acts. Hopefully Manning makes a decision soon, so we can stop playing this waiting game.
Veteran quarterback Peyton Manning has concluded his free agency tour and the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals are now waiting for his decision, according to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter.
If the Broncos were to land Manning, incumbent starting quarterback Tim Tebow‘s future in Denver would become endangered. While there is a possibility that the Broncos could keep Tebow, it appears likely that the team would trade him after signing Manning.
So, we turn to you, the fans. Who do you think should be the Broncos’ starting quarterback next season? Be sure to vote in the poll below!

There have been many reports that if the Denver Broncos sign free agent quarterback Peyton Manning — and it looks like they will — the team will trade third-year quarterback Tim Tebow. In reality, the Broncos would have nothing to gain from trading Tebow.
Many of the talking heads on ESPN and other outlets have noted that the Broncos top brass — V.P. of Football Operations John Elway and Head Coach John Fox — view signing Manning as a visible way of “curing Tebowmania,” which doesn’t even make sense.
Tebowmania is good for the Broncos. It’s good for jersey sales, good for marketing and good for notoriety. Click here to read the rest of this entry »

Amidst reports that Peyton Manning will choose his team by either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, KCNC’s Vic Lombardi just tweeted that Manning is 95% likely to sign with the Denver Broncos and that Manning in fact has, ‘Just contacted the Broncos‘.
Meaning, after spending six plus hours with the Arizona Cardinals, Manning contacted Denver upon landing.
This likely signals the fact that the team and the future Hall of Fame quarterback will be discussing money. The John Elway/John Fox double team did not discuss money as you may have read, whereas the Cardinals pitch likely involved some type of monetary mention or discussion being that Arizona is currently $14-million over the salary cap.
The Broncos currently sit at $44.7-million below the salary cap, this could be a discussion point as Denver can afford to sign the likes of Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark to help Manning’s transition to the mountains.
Update 10:40 p.m. (MT): There have been conflicting reports as to whether Manning contacted the Broncos or not. The Denver Post‘s Lindsay Jones is reporting that the team has not contacted Manning today and the team is respecting the process and giving him space to make his decision.
Strap in Broncos Country, I’d be shocked if Manning is not a Bronco in a few hours.

Former Indianapolis Colts and free agent quarterback Peyton Manning has reportedly narrowed down his decision to being between the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos. Manning has been “leaning towards the Broncos,” according to a source close to the situation.
Although his decision is expected to come before the start of free agency on Tuesday, Mike Klis of the Denver Post has reported that it may not come until Wednesday. Whether it comes tomorrow, Tuesday or Wednesday is irrelevant. His decision is what matters.
According to Vic Lombardi of CBS4, sources say that there is an 80% chance that Manning will pick Denver over Arizona. With the NFL’s 2012 NFL Salary cap being $120,600,000 and the Broncos having $23-$27,000,000 in rollover cap from last season, the team has more than enough cap room to land Manning.
With an improving defense, top-ranked rushing offense and young, talented receivers, the Broncos’ brass has the leverage to sway Manning. According to reports, that’s just what they did.
Klis reports that Manning enjoyed speaking with John Elway and John Fox and was particularly impressed with team Owner Pat Bowlen. The Broncos did not negotiate a contract with Manning — neither did the Cardinals — as Manning wanted his visits to be strictly football-related.
Presumably after he makes his decision, Manning and his agent, Tom Condon, will work out a contract with his new team. Per reports, the Broncos are in much better shape cap-wise than the Cardinals are, which would allow them to also pursue some of Manning’s former teammates (such as receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark) in free agency.
We are eagerly awaiting Manning’s next move! We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
