Denver Broncos blog, news and rumors

The 2012 NFL Draft is set to kickoff in a mere few hours.  Here are thirty-two prospects I will be closely watching.

Quarterbacks:

Ryan Tannehill (Sr., 6-4, 221 lbs., Texas A&M).  Nearly every year a quarterback falls farther on draft day than everyone expected he would.  If Tannehill falls, the Broncos wouldn’t blink before drafting him.

Brock Osweiler* (Jr., 6-7, 242 lbs., Arizona Sate).  The Broncos like Osweiler and he may be available in the mid-rounds of the draft.  If he’s still on the board in the third round Denver will entertain the idea of grabbing him there. Click here to read the rest of this entry »

BroncoTalk is determined to be your Denver Broncos draft day source. In addition to this round-by-round draft preview, there will be draft day predictions, our famous Live Blog, and articles immediately covering every pick and analysis afterwards.

So stay tuned all Thursday through Sunday for all things Bronco draft related! (Such as: 32 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch for Broncos).

Follow us on Twitter (@BroncoTalk), and I will be tweeting updates and commentary as well (@Mr_East_BT).

In just a few short hours the Broncos may add a new member to their roster.

The likeliness of the Broncos selecting exactly in all of these spots is extremely low, but trades are nearly impossible to mock.

So here is my futile attempt to pick all of the new and upcoming Broncos. Will there be a defensive tackle in the mix?

Check it out after the jump! Click here to read the rest of this entry »

Broncos

The mock drafts of Mike Mayock, Mel Kiper, Jr., and Todd McShay have all been updated to their final versions (or, in the case of Mayock, his first and only version). One thing is clear, the experts agree: the Denver Broncos should draft a defensive tackle.

But none of them agree on the player. Check it out — Click here to read the rest of this entry »

This mock is my final first round mock I will be releasing before the draft this Thursday. This edition will feature no trades.

UPDATE: Some changes have been made after the jump.

Who will the Broncos pick at 25? Find out after the jump.

Round 1

  • 1.    Indianapolis Colts
    Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

I’ve said it many times before, I’m an ardent Robert Griffin III fan. However, Andrew Luck is something very special. The Colts and everyone who has seen a football understands how great of an opportunity this is. It’s just not fair that the Colts get to be awesome for a decade and have one bad season and pick up such a great prospect.

  • 2.   Washington Redskins
    Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor

John Wall of the Wizards, Alex Ovechkin of the Capitals, Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals, and Robert Griffin soon to be of the Redskins. What do all of these men have in common? The state of their franchises rests on their shoulders.

All of those athletes, except for Griffin, were drafted number one overall. Some argue too that Griffin is basically a number one pick. Click here to read the rest of this entry »

Michael Brockers (LSU, left), Jerel Worthy (Michigan State, center), and Devon Still (Penn State, right) are all defensive tackle prospects heading into the 2012 NFL Draft, and all potential first round draft picks for the Denver Broncos.

The most common position predicted to be selected with the Denver Broncos‘ first round draft pick in 2012 is, without a doubt, defensive tackle, so we decided to break down the three names most associated with the Broncos choice at 25 today: Michael Brockers (LSU), Jerel Worthy (Michigan State), and Devon Still (Penn State). If each of these players were available for Denver at Pick #25, we wondered, who should the Denver Broncos pick?

Breaking down the Rankings

We went to eight different sets of prospect rankings: Scouts Inc. (ESPN), Mel Kiper, Jr. (ESPN), Todd McShay (ESPN), Mike Mayock (NFL.com), NFLDraftScout.com, NFLDraftCountdown.com, WalterFootball.com, and FFToolbox.com. We tallied up the numbers: here’s how the three players rank.
