"I just fly under the radar and they forget to cut me because they're busy focusing on everybody else. Think about it. I've played with John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Ed McCaffrey, Terrell Davis, Steve Atwater, Gary Zimmerman. I've played with all these guys. I've been under the radar my whole career. I love it."
In case you missed it last week, here is full video of head coach Josh McDaniels “Mic’d Up” for the game against Dallas. I love the intensity the guy brings to the sideline. There is one honest laugh out loud moment provided by McD as well. I just kept wondering how the coaches on the other side of that headset aren’t deaf by now.
A question that spans:
multiple defining moments in history/multiple generations/multiple topics
Most deal with situations of death or politics or war or entertainment.
Most in fact deal with each of those combined.
These are mega moments, that forever entwine us as a species. A handful of occurrences that a majority of the human race cannot deny.
These moments can also be broken down, specified, categorized, compiled into niches. Micro Moments. These we share with a smaller group of humans. Not entirely important on a global scale, but prevalent nevertheless.
So I ask. Where were you when the Broncos beat the New England Patriots and improved to an unbeaten 5-0? Where were you when the target was placed on the back of Josh McDaniels and his Wild Horses?
I was in Woodstock NY. A geographical location directly connected to a “Where were you when…?” question for a lot of people. I was holed up, at the end of a weekend vacation, in a cozy little bar with 5 other people.
Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said all the things wide receiver Brandon Marshall wanted to hear Tuesday. Per NFL.com —
“Brandon understands that he’s got a year left on his present deal, but if he keeps playing the way he is, he’s going to get a very significant raise — a much better contract,” Bowlen said Tuesday at the NFL Fall League Meeting. “That’s the way it goes, and Brandon has accepted that.”
Marshall has done more than accepted it — he’s embraced it. After a sluggish start to the season, Marshall’s production has exploded, hauling in 17 catches for 222 yards and four touchdowns over the past three weeks.
With every game-winning touchdown, Marshall is daring Bowlen to literally put his money where his mouth is, and it appears a lucrative end is in sight.

Is it ridiculously early? Yes. Do the Broncos still have a ton of tough matchups in their remaining slate of eleven games? Absolutely.
But if Pro Bowls were determined after five weeks of the season, Kyle Orton would be in the conversation.
Your given in the AFC is Peyton Manning. After that, it’s a multiple-man contest for the last two spots, with Joe Flacco, Matt Schaub, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Carson Palmer, and Tom Brady all making strong cases.
Let’s take a look at the numbers. Among those listed, Kyle Orton is:
1st in winning percentage (1.00)
1st in interceptions (1)
3rd in passer rating (97.4)
4th in touchdowns (7)
4th in completion percentage (63.0)
6th in yds/game (247.2)
Is Kyle Orton Pro Bowl bound? Did we trade a 2008 Pro Bowler for a 2009 one, plus picks? Maybe. Let us know your thoughts in the poll and in the comments.
The award nods keep filing in for the 5-0 Broncos. This week, Kyle Orton is up for the FedEx Air Player of the Week Award, while Knowshon Moreno is up for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award.
Moreno has been nominated in three straight weeks, winning last week. This is Orton’s first 2009 nomination.
Orton completed 35 of 48 throws for 330 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception (Hail Mary attempt) in the Broncos’ 20 – 17 win over the New England Patriots. Orton drove the Broncos to the tying touchdown in the last 10 minutes of the fourth quarter and to the winning field goal on the first drive of overtime. Click here to vote for Orton!
Moreno made his first career start rushing 21 times for 88 and catching four passes for 36 yards for 124 yards from scrimmage in Denver’s 20-17 overtime win against the New England Patriots. Click here to vote for Knowshon!
“But, BroncoTalk, I’m a discerning voter and am not convinced. Really sell me.” Fine. Check out the plethora of reasons to vote for these two Broncos, after the jump.Click here to read the rest of this entry »

Josh McDaniels is the early Coach of the Year favorite. [Denver Post]
Broncos win! Broncos win! Broncos win! Time for another edition of the BT Game Balls. Alright staff, who ya got?!
Josh McDaniels. You get W’s. Those W’s feel good, but what feels even better is what comes after those W’s. The hugs last week, the fist pumping this week, this team believing in each other! Fully believing in each other. Marshall is here, Royal found his way, Scheffler is back, Moreno is in ROY form, the defense is the DEFENSE, and we are the Wild Horses! All because of Coach McDaniels. 5 & Ohh! – J. Kenneth K.
