Pick 43: Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech
I know a lot of you would rather have Arrelious Benn or Golden Tate, but I think they might be long gone by this pick. The Chiefs can’t pass up Golden Tate at 36 if he’s still available. Not only positionally does this pick make sense, but McDaniels wise too. Thomas is a big, tall, and physical wide receiver, a possible true number one receiver at that. McDaniels loves players who produced at high levels in college and Thomas produced like an assembly line. While at Georgia Tech Thomas caught 120 balls for 2,339 yards, and racking up 14 touchdowns.
Other Possibilities: If the Broncos don’t end up getting McClain I could really see happening is the Broncos trading up high in the second round to grap Sean Weatherspoon. Josh McDaniels spoke very highly of Weatherspoon and then suddenly talked about how the draft is so deep and good players will fall the second round. The Broncos could also look to secure either of their lines. If they go OL they will target a big guy like John Asamoah or John Jerry (who would be a reach). On the side, if they decide to spruce up the aging DL they will look to target California’s Tyson Alualu.
