- But his daughters are still Cleveland Browns fans? Unacceptable. Time to choose, ‘Dra: them or us. [Cleveland Plain Dealer] [just kidding]
- Josh McDaniels says the gameplan is 80-90% installed heading into Friday’s practice. [Denver Post]
- If McD is true to his word (and in a midseason press conference, why wouldn’t he be?), the Broncos will continue to share the load on offense. [Colorado Springs Gazette]

Since the dawn of time (i.e. when BroncoTalk began about 3 years ago), we have provided detailed previews and scouting reports on each week’s upcoming opponent. In the past, we scoured the Internet searching for video highlights, other sites’ scouting reports and roster breakdowns to provide these reports to you. You could say these reports were “second hand.”
We will still use these methods in our reports, but it’s safe to say we’re taking our pre-game analysis to another level. Thanks to the miracle of DIRECTV and DVR, we’re recording each upcoming team’s game and watching it in its entirety, each week. For example, the Week One game featuring this week’s Broncos opponent, the Cleveland Browns, was recorded. It was watched. Four pages of notes were taken.
We’ll try to get the analysis and report of these notes to you, the fan-freaking-tastic BroncoTalk reader, by Friday each week. We hope you enjoy.
Love, BroncoTalk

Because I just never get tired of it.
(On a related note, let the record show that the virtual Bengals defenders tried a helluva lot harder than their human counterparts in chasing Stokley down the sideline.)

The rest of the world moves forward with time. Brandon Marshall is stuck in reverse.
Rather than bite the bullet, answer questions about his return to the team and get his NFL-mandated presser over with, Marshall continued to make headlines with his rebellious behavior.
This time, he wasn’t punting footballs; he was kicking aside the media’s questions.
As Frank Schwab of the Colorado Springs Gazette transcribes:
So, Brandon, did you have any making up to do with your teammates upon your return?
“This week, in preparing for Cleveland, it’s going to be tough and we know that,†Marshall said. “We’re going to do our best to give it our best shot.â€
So how close are you to being back to your Pro Bowl form?
“I think Coach (Eric) Mangini is doing a great job with the guys, getting them to do what they’re supposed to do, doing their job, and it’s making it tough on opposing offenses,†Marshall said.
The only time Marshall spoke directly to a question was when he said he was completely healthy. Marshall had hip surgery in the offseason and missed a couple of weeks of training camp with a hamstring injury.
“I think I was 100 percent a long time ago,†Marshall said.
After a public relations staffer announced that there was one more question before the locker room was closed, Marshall decided he didn’t have time for another answer.
“All right,†Marshall said, walking away after the question was done.

Off the Injury Report is Chris Simms. Here’s hoping Chris Kuper can get off there soon, too. The Browns are fairly banged up, especially at running back, with all four of their backs listed. Check theirs after the jump. Click here to read the rest of this entry »

Head Coach Josh McDaniels, quarterback Kyle Orton and safety Brian Dawkins tag-team for Round Two of pregame quotables. Can the Broncos keep the momentum going against the Browns? Did the Bengals shut down Eddie Royal? Will Orton take off the glove this Sunday? That and more below, courtesy as always the awesome Broncos PR staff.
HEAD COACH JOSH McDANIELS
On preparing for Cleveland after Sunday’s victory over Cincinnati
“Every week whether you win or lose, you have got to take it for what it is worth and move on and prepare hard for the next opponent, just like you did the prior opponent. We have begun that process.â€
On the Broncos benefitting from the 87-yard touchdown to win the game last week
“It goes either way. If we don’t make a couple of mistakes and score when it was 6-0, you don’t know what the outcome of the game is going to be. That is every week, though. One or two plays here, one or two plays there change the outcome of the game. We are not giving it back.â€
