Denver Broncos blog, news and rumors

NOTE: Brandon Marshall is appearing on ESPN’s NFL Live to talk about his practice behavior.  10:30 p.m. MST (8/27/09). Who does this guy think he is? Jay Cutler? Just kidding. Sorry, I’m being hissed at by thousands of fans, I can tell. You’d think just in the sense of team spirit that Brandon Marshall would […]

OFFENSIVE MVP Ryan Clady – The big left tackle didn’t have his best game (at one point drawing a 15-yard penalty that eliminated a 20-yard Peyton Hillis run), but he was facing one of the league’s best DE’s, Patrick Kerney. At the end of the game, Kerney came up empty – no sacks, no tackles, […]

Breaking down the Denver Broncos‘ opening 12-play, 78-yard drive against the Seattle Seahawks that resulted in the first team offense’s first touchdown this preseason. Saturday’s live broadcast left pieces of the first drive missing as the NFL Network stuck with the fourth quarter of the Redskins-Steelers game (what were they thinking?), but I was able […]

Denver Broncos training camp goes to INVESCO Field at Mile High… News and notes from the Thursday evening practice. The record 13,402 in attendance for a Broncos practice didn’t disappoint. Yes, there were boos, but there were also plenty of cheers and foot-pounding thunder as well. To end the practice, 850 KOA AM’s Dave Logan […]

Here are few things observed from the other half of the Broncotalk onsite staff for todays practice. Open Field Defensive Back Tackling Drills Josh Barrett destroyed Travis Shelton in the middle of the field. Easily the hardest hit of the day. Marshall seemed to go down awfully easy in this drill after making contact. Not […]

Just some quick quotes from around the web. Denver Broncos Official Website Josh McDaniels on Champ Bailey As an opposing coach, McDaniels said he would give his quarterbacks simple advice when facing Bailey: “Don’t throw over there.” Eddie Royal on Brandon Stokley “He’s been great for me — great in helping me grow as a […]

As The Denver Post’s Mike Klis pointed out this morning, Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall is amongst kings: “His salary request is affordable for a receiver who averaged 103 catches and 1,295 receiving yards the past two years. Larry Fitzgerald averages $10 million a year, Randy Moss $9 million, Andre Johnson has an eight-year […]

Josh McDaniels has made quite the noise with signings and with the league as a whole. I’m definitely not going to beat a dead horse with the repeating the Jay Cutler story. There are a few ways to sum up Denver’s situation, to be obvious, the defense really needs to be improved. Hiring Mike Nolan […]

Peyton Hillis was 6 feet 2 inches tall, 240 pounds heavy, running a 4.57 forty entering draft day in 2008. Many draftniks had Hillis as their top fullback, and they projected he would be taken somewhere around round 4. Just like many great players do, Hillis fell to the 7th round where Denver gladly decided […]
