D.J. Williams will lose first team reps

With a six-game suspension looming at the start of the season, Fox indicated that the Broncos will prepare for life without Williams by, well, practicing without Williams. We’ll be keeping an eye on who fills in for D.J. and how often he is inserted into the starting lineup as camp progresses

Kuper and Moreno ready to go

Chris Kuper and Knowshon Moreno passed physicals and are expected to practice tomorrow. “They’ll all be suited up,” Fox said. “We’ll be smart about how we rep them early in camp.”

The Denver Broncos are now officially ready for training camp.  Players are to report for physicals on Wednesday and everyone will be there.

On Tuesday afternoon, the team inked their last remaining un-signed rookies — quarterback Brock Osweiler and running back Ronnie Hillman — to four year deals.  The team announced the transactions via Twitter.

According to a Denver Post report, Osweiler’s deal is worth $3.1 million with a $997,584 signing bonus.  Terms of Hillman’s deal are unknown, but his signing bonus is reportedly worth nearly $691,000.

Osweiler (6-7, 242 lbs.) and Hillman (5-9, 190 lbs.) were the final two of seven draft selections to sign with the team.  The pair of rookies will practice with the entire team when training camp practice sessions begin on Thursday (full schedule).

A former Arizona State quarterback, Osweiler will compete with Caleb Hanie and Adam Weber to backup starter Peyton Manning this season.  Hillman is expected to compete for playing time and could end up being the second running back behind Willis McGahee against Pittsburgh this September.

With their entire draft class signed, the Broncos can now focus on the 2012 season.  47 days, 17 hours, 19 minutes, 08 seconds and 239 milliseconds!

1. The Denver Broncos will kickoff training camp on Thursday (full schedule) and three of their five 2011 team captains will be returning this summer.

Head Coach John Fox is expected to announce the 2012 captains shortly before the regular season.

The team’s Week 1 captains last season were Kyle Orton, Champ Bailey, Wesley Woodyard, Chris Kuper, Brian Dawkins and Elvis Dumervil*.  When Orton was traded mid-way through the 2011 season, Willis McGahee replaced him.

*The Broncos had five main team captains last season in addition to a weekly captain named by Fox.  Last year, Dumervil was the Week 1 co-captain.

Heading into camp, Bailey, Kuper and Woodyard appear to be among the top candidates for 2012, with Peyton Manning being an obvious addition. That leaves one captain position open and with Dawkins gone and Dumervil facing a possible suspension, Von Miller seems to be a worthy suggestion.
