The decision has been made: Brady Quinn will start at quarterback for the Kansas City when the Chiefs host the Broncos this weekend.

“I like his leadership qualities,” Chiefs Head Coach Romeo Crennel told DenverBroncos.com. “He has experience with a couple different teams and he’s seen a couple different things. I think that will bode well for him.”

Quinn has a unique history with the Broncos.  His first career start came against the Broncos in 2008, when Jay Cutler led the Broncos to a 34-30 win over the Browns in Cleveland.

A year later, Quinn faced the Broncos again, losing 27-6 in Denver.  During the loss, Quinn was sacked four times by Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil.

The next offseason, Quinn was traded to the Broncos to compete with Kyle Orton to win the Broncos’ starting gig.  Quinn ultimately lost the job to Orton and eventually backed up Tim Tebow through the 2011 season.  Through two seasons in Denver, Quinn never played a down.

“I haven’t had as many opportunities in six seasons as some guys get in one season.  Any opportunity for me to play is good.  I’m always learning, always trying to get better,” said Quinn.

One year removed from leaving Denver, Quinn is preparing for his third career start against the Broncos.  Denver’s defense, led by pass rushers Von Miller and Dumervil, will be looking to make Quinn 0-3 against his former teammates.

Over/Under on how many scores our Defense has? 1.5? I’m taking the over (pick and fumble).

What sucks is, the guy I’m playing in fantasy this week is starting the Broncos’ D/ST.

  • Big_Pete

Ouch!!! We are surely gonna be the #1 D/ST this week. Hope you have Manning or something to help offset.

I don’t want to be overconfident, but I hope your right!

I do have Manning and I picked up Hillman off waivers (I was surprised I was able to grab him). I’m considering starting Hillman as my flex. Starting Thomas as well.

If the defense lets charles run amock, that will open up passing lanes for quinn. Even tho he sucks, having open receivers makes the job alot easier.

That’s a lot of Broncos to start. I mean, Manning and Thomas are no brainers, but you think Hillman will be worth it?

Must admit I have always been pulling for Quinn, I was in the US a couple of weeks before the draft he was in and read quite a lot of articles about him and always hoped he’d come good.

    However, not this week.

Also, anyone remember the Post article, shortly after Quinn was traded for, that said the next time the Broncos are in a Superbowl it won’t be Kyle Orton at QB it’ll be Brady Quinn. Wish I had the energy to go and find that.

Manning has scored the fifth-most points among QBs this season and Thomas has scored the eighth-most among WRs.

But I’m going to sit on HIllman this week and see how he does. He may turn into a nice flex option down the road.

Probably that moron Kliss…. He’s an instigator. He’ll say anything to ruffle feathers, no matter how stupid and ridiculous it is. Woody Paige is just senile and can’t help saying semi-retarded things sometimes. Kliss does it on purpose.
