denver-broncos-blogsDenver Broncos News

  • Maurice Jones-Drew would make an excellent addition to the Denver Broncos already crowded backfield.  Rumor has it John Elway is interested. [BroncoTalk]
  • With the departure of Brian Dawkins, Champ Bailey is once again the leader on the back end of the defense.  I think he may have never stopped being a leader, but what do I know. [Denver Post]
  • Jim Leonhard impressed me with his intelligence when I watched the New York Jets attempt to end Tebow-time, which is why I think he will likely make the roster. [DenverBroncos.com]
  • Broncos rookie, Derek Wolfe, is anxious to make up for lost time. It looks like he has already done that by leading the team in tackles and in sacks. We may have found a gem in the second round. [Washington Post]

MJD is the kind of back that can single handed carry a team at times. Of course it all depends on the price but I’m glad to hear we are looking into it.

However, I do question his holdout with 2 years left on a contract that was front loaded. We don’t need to be going through this with him in 2 more years because his contract with us was front loaded too.

At any rate, I’m glad Elway is continuing to explore all options. It’s a good sign as far as I am concerned.

My concern is that he’s a RB holding out prior to the season (that’s never translated to immediate on-the-field success) and he’s an aging RB that wants big money (that doesn’t have a good track record, either).

With all that said, I’d love to add him to the offense.

Yeah those are all great points. The one thing MJD has that most other RB holdouts don’t, is that he is such a workout warrior, I can’t imagine he reports out of shape. Obviously he’s not going to be in quite “football shape” but 2 or 3 weeks should about do it.

They call him Little Hercules for a reason.
