  • No Terrible Towels – The Broncos strongly encourage you NOT to sell your tickets to Pittsburgh Steelers fans. So do we. It’s our responsibility as fans to maintain our home field advantage! The 2005 loss to Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game — the Broncos’ last playoffs game — was a disgrace as thousands of gold-clad Steelers fans remained in the stadium celebrating their traveling victory. Don’t sell to anyone but Broncos fans, Broncos fans. No Terrible Towels in Mile High!
  • AFC West Gear availableThe Broncos’ 2011 AFC West Championship gear is available online, so get your T-shirts and hats while they’re hot!
  • Playoff rivalry renewed – The Broncos’ first and last playoff opponent was the Steelers, and they’ve faced Pittsburgh in the postseason more than any other team in their history (six times, with a 3-3 record). More on the rivalry here.
  • A look ahead – The winner between Broncos-Steelers will face either the Patriots or the Ravens, depending on the outcome of the other AFC Wild Card Weekend match. If the Texans win, the winner of Broncos vs. Steelers would travel to New England. If the Bengals win, Broncos/Steelers winner would travel to Baltimore.

I’m sure most Broncos fans are feeling a bit sick to their stomachs that we “backed in” to the playoffs, but the playoffs are still the playoffs. At 1-4, the playoffs were reserved for those people taking hallucinogens, yet today, in the very same season, we are in the playoffs. This was a BUILDING job, because lets face it, there really wasn’t anyone here to build off of which would be required for “rebuilding”. Elway has said he expected us to be in the playoffs to be a 3 year project, yet here we are, year 1 in and in the playoffs.

I am a fan, like most of you all are. I’m not here to say that if you think we’re gonna get our asses handed to us means you aren’t a fan. I’m not here to say that if you think we need to spend our #1 pick on a QB means you aren’t a fan. I’m here to say that we need to be loud, cheer, and NOT SELL OUR TICKETS TO STEELERS FANS!!!!

I’m a season ticket holder, have been for 4 years now, and I am appalled at the amount of Steelers fans that come into our stadium. Not only will the Broncos be playing the Steelers Saturday, but if history shows, we will be playing the Steelers in 3 Rivers Stadium West! That notion makes me want to vomit, and it should make you feel the same!

It’s time for us fans to enjoy the ride. If ever there was a moment in time to forget about our QB that half the nation loves and the other half hates, it is this week. If there was ever a time to forget about our player deficiencies and what we need going forward, it is this week. If ever there was a time to just lose your mind in “fandom”, IT IS THIS WEEK!

As Apollo Creed said to Rocky, “What’s the matter with you?!?! THERE IS NO TOMORROW!!!” Well Denver Broncos Fans, this is it, there is no tomorrow! Cheer for OUR team, because after saturday, there might not be any reason to cheer and be happy for another 9 months (I’m hoping we win). Why be a fan if you don’t get excited? Why be a fan if you expect us to lose and act accordingly? Why be a fan if all you can do is complain about what we can’t do, instead of cheering about what we can and have done? Worrying about who we’ll draft, and what our team will look like next season will come soon enough (1-4 weeks from now), so for the love of the Broncos, just cheer for us and put your negative Nancy fandom off till this remarkable ride is over with?

If we win against the Steerlers, just imagine how much joy you missed out on this last week. You’ll never get that back. If we lose vs the Steerlers, we’ll have plenty of time in the offseason to talk about what we need in the future without adding this week to that timeframe. Are we gonna draft a QB? Is Tebow the answer? Will we shore up the DL, OL, secondary? WHO CARES!!! It’s Us -vs- the Steerlers! It isn’t us versus the draft. It isn’t us vs training camp, and it isn’t us vs our preseason opponent! It’s us vs pittsburgh. Time to get loud, time to get proud, and time to channel our positive vibes and energy towards our team! Believe it or not, our mood affects the city, which affects the team. The players can feel the negative attitudes while they are going about their daily lives. Their families can feel it when they are out shopping or walking around. This negativity is ruining our fun, which is ruining our team play, and will ruin our playoff run if we don’t turn things around. Wake up people, this is the playoffs!!! We aren’t perennial contenders anymore, so how about acting like the playoffs mean something and are exciting instead of “business as usual” and snubbing our noses towards it.

LET’S GO BRONCOS!!! Beat those Steerers down!!!

I should add that I was there in 2005 for that embarrassing “home” game by pittsburgh that booted us out of the playoffs and ended our championship run. I couldn’t believe how many steerlers fans were in OUR STADIUM!!! Let’s go guys, keep the tickets in Broncos fans’ hands!!!

I’m really hoping #3 & #4 seeds (Texans & Broncos) win, cause I like our match up with N.E. way better than Baltimore. Can you imagine Ray Rice running on us? It haunts my dreams! lol

Thanks Kyle.  You are always on top of things with clear and concise reporting.

All of my friends and family (except my sister who is a GB fan) are Steelers fans, I live in Steeler country (60 miles outside Pittsburgh), nothing would be sweeter than whooping their asses and sending the Steelers back to Pittsburgh with a big fat LOSS.  Sitting at the bar after work, all I heard from the various Steeler fans was how stupid it is that a 12-4 team travels to an 8-8 team, that an 8-8 team has no business in the playoffs and how easy of a win its going to be for Pittsburgh.

Yes the playoffs are still the playoffs.  Its like a whole new season but with injured players.  Its obvious the team and fans wanted a win vs KC, heading into the playoffs with momentum.  I hope that the coaching staff and players are as psyched up for this oppurtunity.  If there was ever a stretch of games that the Broncos need too play their best games as a team, its now.

We have to get a pass rush on Worthlessberger or it’s going to be a long, long day.  He already has a pretty badly sprained ankle, so making him move around is benficial for us.  Can we please call some plays that makes the defense guess whats coming, not just RRRP or RRPP?  (Run, Run, Run, Punt/Run, Run, Pass, Punt).

There is no next week to right the ship, play balls to the wall, and let the chips fall where they may.
