Perusing the Interwebz for water cooler fodder. (Number in parenthesis represents previous ranking).

ESPN: 28th (27)
Nothing worse than losing a wrestling match with the rival Raiders. Turnovers were no way to start.

FOX: 30th (28)
The Broncos did nothing to prove they can stop the run, and they will continue to face run-heavy teams in the AFC West. New coach John Fox will improve this unit, but it might take a while.

CBS: 29th (27)
Would Tim Tebow have fumbled at a crucial point as Kyle Orton did against the Raiders? You think that line was repeated at times. Looks like the Broncos are in for a long season.

Pro Football Weekly: 30th (31st)
Tebow chants already? The Broncos looked soft vs. the Raiders last night

And here’s how humanity’s future enslavers view Mile High football.

USA Today Covers: 24th (29th)
Power Ratings compute offensive and defensive statistics into one number for each team, while accounting for factors like recent performances and strength of schedule.

WhatIfSports: 21st (22nd)
WhatIfSports.com utilizes its football simulation to rank all 32 NFL teams. To come up with the rankings, each team plays every other team 10,000 times.

Where should the Broncos be ranked heading into Week 2?

“Orton gives us the best chance to win” Really? What if we don’t win? He is 3-13 in his last 16 games. He doesn’t win.
Orton is what he is and what he hasn’t learned is that we fans don’t put up with losing to the Raiders. Its not “just another game to us”. We don’t care if Orton looks good against the Bengals, we lost to the Raiders. I don’t really see Orton as a Bronco. He needs to be benched. The Tebow Era should start against the Bengals and Titans. That would give Tebow 2 games to practice for the Packers.

Broncos may lose more than 10 games if Fox doesn’t know who is good QB, Same he did in last year. He only does good for D.

With Orton, the defense has an extra linebacker to play defense.  It’s like having a 12 man defense.  With Tebow, the defense is a man short.  They need TWO linebackers protecting the “TEBOW ZONE”.  One won’t do!
But what the hell, loosing is habit forming and obviously, the Denver ownership is used to it-even promotes it.  Tebow needs to be in now-let him get the rough edges smoothed off.  Also, the defense would be inspired-knowing the offense has a guy who will keep them off the field.  I guess the Bronco management is subject to the demands of ESPN.

Good news! Snow in the mountains!  Just a few short weeks until I can watch the game from the lodge, and spend my energy on the slope instead of the couch if need be.

That is good news, some of the best days in my life consist of powder in the morning and watching the Broncs win in the afternoon.
