As we continue to relive the high moments of the Broncos 2010 season, we look back at the Broncos third win of the year.
Heading into Week 10 of last season, the Kansas City Chiefs were 5-3 and atop the AFC West. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos were 2-6 and were expected to be trampled by Kansas City’s dominating rushing attack. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, however, the Broncos didn’t get that memo.
Denver’s defense held the Chiefs running game to 51 rushing yards while the Broncos offense easily moved up and down the field. Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton threw a career high four touchdown passes, and running back Knowshon Moreno had his first 100-yard rushing performance as the Broncos rolled over KC in a 49-29 win.
It was the Broncos second highest scoring game in team history (they scored 50 against San Diego in 1963) and second home win of the 2010 season. Rookie quarterback Tim Tebow also threw his first touchdown pass of his career, a three yard pass to fullback Spencer Larsen. Tebow added a rushing touchdown and was nominated for — and won — Rookie of the Week honors.
Denver linebackers Mario Haggan and Jason Hunter harassed Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel all game, recording four combined sacks and a forced fumble that led to a Broncos score.
