Daniel CoatsFollowing the release of DE Le Kevin Smith this morning the team added former Bengals tight end Daniel Coats.  Coats has 30 receptions for 291 yards over this 3+ seasons in the NFL.  He is labeled as a blocking back that also has ball skills and has played a good bit of special teams.  The former Bengal was released to make room on the Cincinnati squad for another tight end, J.P. Foschi.

In related news the Broncos waived TE Riar Geer from the practice squad once again to bring back defensive end Jeff Stehle.  Looks like this was done for roster balancing, bringing a TE to the active squad in place of DE, and vice versa with the practice squad.

i kind of like this move solely on the face that it brings stability to our offense. I know there has been talk about our defense. But if you know anything about football offense and defense go hand and hand. If our offense can sustain long td drives the chiefs have no chance against the broncos.

I'm not a nfl player so i don't have to be modest with my comments. The KC chiefs has one of the lousiest QB in football, Brandon Flower cant cover deep and clutch situations, Berry struggles in RB/FB coverage and there coach is a pure gambler. What is true is they have a decent ground game and a hard hitting defense.

Our true advantage is have Josh McDaniels who coached under Weis and Romeo. what that means is that he knows there tendencies and he should have our boys properly prepared to exploit them.

Any word on when Xanders will get fired? That is all we need to know.

lets see, lousiest QB's in the NFL, a safety who isnt good in RB coverage and a coach that is a pure gambler. you just described the Denver Broncos. except that team in KC, yeah see they can actually run the ball and play defense. their record, which isnt 2-6, kinda reflects that.

wow. these moves are sure to salvage our season from 2-6 all the way to 3-13. beautiful MCD.

the schedule makers doomed us to this record more or less now must pick it up for division schedule lol i am always optimistic

Bigger move is it sounds like they are finally putting the o-line of the future on the field with Harris back at RT and Beadles going to LG. They need to stay with this line and let them get used to each other and gain experience. If Beadles and Walton can prove to be serviceable by the end of the year the offense may actually be promising for next year.

yes with that said it's important for us to get an early lead and force Cassel into winning the game. Then again i don't care how lousy we play i'll never lay down to the chiefs.

    Ha ha. He's already gone.

What a storied career he had here. Legendary.

Has anyone taken a look at the depth chart lately? Daniel Graham is the 3rd string TE behind Gronkowoski and Quinn. I wonder what landed him at that spot? I thought the Coats signing was weird especially since we never cut a TE off the active roster.
