Our weekly perusal around the Interwebz for water cooler fodder. (Number in parenthesis represents last week’s ranking).

ESPN: 22nd (23)
The Broncos’ early schedule has been brutal; softens now.

FOX: 25th (26)
Reality hit the Broncos during last week’s loss to the visiting Jets. At some point, they have to be able to run the ball with a semblance of success. Denver’s offense is getting easier to defend because no defense has to respect its running game. And the lack of a pass rush on defense is not going to be solved based on the personnel they have on that side of the ball.

CBS: 26th (25)
They were a fourth-down penalty away from upsetting the top team in the league. Kyle Orton continues to play at a high level.

Yahoo!/NFP: 25th (23)
Tim Tebow scored his first TD as a pro, but at 2-4, it is safe to call Denver a disappointment.

USA Today: 22nd (22)
Jets were first to hold Kyle Orton to fewer than 295 yards

Average rank: 24.00. Average change: down 0.20

apparently fox didn't watch the game because we ran well… for once

  • Tim

So we barely lose to the top team…yet we fall another spot? lol

Seriously just rank us at 30 ahead of the Browns and Bills, we know you want to.

  • Big_Pete

    This is the correct answer.
All the usual sites hate us, and are just itching to rank us dead last. Why don't they just do it already. Why try to disguise it?

  • Espnmom

So we lose because of a 4th down penalty to a top two or three team in the league and go down in the rankings? Seems strange to me

How are we a disappointment if we knew that we were not going to be that good this yr. It's not like we were rank #1 in preseason power rankings.

    I agree

Well he's obviously an idiot or has some serious bias issues. He has the Cowboys ranked at 18 and they've only won one game. I just love how some people get to spew out crap for a living.

Considering the tough schedule so far and the amount of average teams in the league, I have to say that the rankings are somewhat unfair. They're not a top 10 team at this point, but they're definately in the middle. Hopefully as the schedule gets easier, they will continue to be judged by their record and not the schedule.

The bolts are 0-4 on the road against bums. When are these buffoons going to wake up and realize that the Broncos are at least better than them?
