With five holes to fill on defense, the Denver Broncos have signed S Kyle McCarthy and OLB Kevin Alexander to the active roster from the team’s practice squad, Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post reports.

The team cut RB Andre Brown and OL D’Anthony Batiste to make room on the active roster. Batiste started at left tackle in Ryan Clady‘s absence throughout the preseason; Chris Clark now fills that role.

McCarthy had a good preseason from what I remember.

Josh Barrett was signed from the PS in his rookie year wasn't he? And then made a pretty good impact. Here's hoping…..

I liked Alexander in the preseason.

These moves mean we will enter the Jet's game with 2 of our 4 backfield runners listed as questionable, (Moreno and Larsen), leaving Buckhalter and Maroney as our only “healthy” runners. It will have to be another record-breaking day for Kyle Orton, if we expect to win. All of our “Orange Mojo” to the O-line and our receivers.
