I really, really, really hope that we don't cut Matt Willis. He is having a fantastic camp, and he's only gonna get better the more he plays. If we let him go, some other team is gonna get very lucky, cause he won't pass waivers.
As much as I hate to say it, maybe we need to either A) keep 7 wrs on our team, or B) say goodbye to Stoke. I don't want to cut Stoke, but we have to be real here. Who is worth more at this point, an up and coming WR who has the tools and motivation to be a stud, or a WR who was a stud and certainly helped us win a few games, but will only play this year, and possibly next year?
It's gonna be a tough decision.

marcus thomas is in trouble. wonder if shanny will trade a late rounder for him?

Willis won't be cut, when a player has a camp like that coaches can't cut them.

On a side note, I think Perrish Cox will pass Eddie Royal as the 1st listed kick/punt returner in the extremely near future.

Thomas has done nothing from what I saw of the defense in camp, I really like Ben Garland though.

Do you think the Broncos will cut Branson and Riar Geer but leave Nathan Overbay? And do you think Toney Baker could beat out the Hall & Ball combo?

Can't imagine Stoke getting the axe this year. He is one of the smartest wr's in the league ever. Coach needs him to help groom Decker and Thomas. Next year he will either join the team as a coach or move on.

Watch Perrish Cox vs Nate Jones in preseason. Cox has been on point all camp long.

  • Big_Pete

    Gotta keep 7 WR's then.
    Royal
    Gaff
    Stoke
    Thomas
    Decker
    Willis
    Lloyd

Who would be the odd man out? I'd say Lloyd, but if it wasn't for Willis, he'd be having the best camp; so I can't imagine us cutting him either.

McDaniels values versatility. When Fields and Williams went down it was Thomas who played nose (with Baker still out). And Thomas normally plays DE. He has a better shot than Baker at this point.

Okay if I were to run the show this is how my receivers would go:
    Thomas
    Jaffney
    Royal
    Willis
    Decker
    Stokley

no lloyd? He's #1 on here for a reason because he has performed well. I'm afraid poor Stokes lost his dad and will lose his job in 2010. God bless the man…

Considering how fragile Stoke has been his entire career and that Decker and Thomas are still recovering, that seems like the smartest option to me.

I understand where u are going but here me out there are 5 guys on that list that bring explosiveness and 2 guys that bring length and one that brings knowledge and 2 superbowl rings and has the potential to “coach” 2 young slot receivers with experience. LLoyd will make it. personally if it was up to me Jaffney, Lloyd and a 3 round pick was going to SD for Vincent Jackson!
