Eric Olsen

The Denver Broncos select Notre Dame center Eric Olsen in the 6th round (183rd overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Olsen (6’4″, 306 lbs.) brings impressive physical tools and measurables to the Broncos’ center competition, including 35 bench press reps at the combine (fifth-best among all combine attendees and third-best among offensive linemen). He started at guard for the Irish in 2007 and 2008 and was Notre Dame’s starting center in 2009.

The Broncos earlier drafted C J.D. Walton in the third round.

Some concerns about his speed and leverage, but this guy is a beast. Good pickup. Broncos leave the draft with good competition at center and guard.

I like this pickup, because now we have 2 natural centers. My only concern is that they are both rookies. Walton needs to hit the ground running, because we don't have any veteran centers on the team to help bring these guys along.

His mug shot looks like a young man with a bad attitude. I like it. We have some good size, youth and depth on the O-line. Good work.

I love how all these lineman have played multiple positions. Gives us a lot of flexibility. Prob would never happen but how sweet would it be to have situational O-line sets, just how they send in the bigger D-lineman on running downs and goal line. If it's short yardage situation or goal line we send in the “Meat Package” on O-Line! All our biggest bad ass blow you off the ball run blockers along with D. Graham, R. Quinn & Tebow.

  • RH

Nice idea, but youre right, wont happen. Now, lets just sign Blount too and get that 240 lbs running downhill at the goal like. D's wont know how to defend Tebow and Blount.

  • Big_Pete

Won't happen. It would make us way too predictable.

  • RH

Let me dream Pete, let me dream. Don't kill my qua. I don't know what that means but it sounds good.

I was thinking it would be more like the Nebraska Cornhuskers 15 or so years ago. We line up, tell them when & where we're gonna run it and then wish the d-fense good luck.

Side note: I am not a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
