Former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan continues to be the hottest name in the midseason coaching carousel. A month after being pursued by the Washington Redskins, who still employ a “permanent” head coach, Shanahan has been contacted by a team that doesn’t. The Buffalo Bills, who fired Dick Jauron Tuesday, have contacted Shanahan, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter

Buffalo has contacted and is in the process of arranging a meeting with former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan, according to two NFL sources.

Shanahan, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Broncos, is said to be willing to listen to the Bills. He has said in the past that he is determined to return to the NFL next season.

For now, Buffalo has appointed defensive coordinator Perry Fewell as interim head coach, but Shanahan appears to be atop their list of permanent coaching solutions.

It's gonna be San Diego. I can feel it.

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit, thanks.

I don't think will take it. He's turn down the Redskins too so I'm of the mind he will wait until the end of the season before he chooses. My hunch is he's off to JAX…

let Shanahan take San Diego. at least then we will play a team that will have ABSOLUTELY no defense whatsoever, no ST's, late round bum RB's who are totally injury prone, a small and weak D-line and O-line, and Bob Slowik. id say let Shanny have the job. let him have total control over all football operations and in no time the Chargers will be an 8-8 team every single year until he gets fired again. its perfect.

Shanny's short list (IMO): Dallas, San Diego, Buffalo.

His criteria will be the owner and the QB situation. Wants an owner who will spend money and either a high draft pick to go after one of the Big 3 OR a QB Shanahan thinks he can work with. He will not walk into a situation where the QB situation needs to be blown up and no hope of getting a shot at Tebow, McCoy or Bradford.

Kerry, for the first time we actually agree on something. I even gave you a like! :)

It is possible that Shannahan might love the Buffalo job because they will give him total controll…everybody listen to colin cowherd talk about this tommorrow and say that why would you want to go against dolphins, jets and Patriots…haha I see it coming…otherwise I think mike waits for his right place

Shanny will be coaching Dallas next year, bet ya.

  • anthony33

The only Bufflao Shanahan should be coaching next year are those up the road in Boulder.

  • TheTroglodyte

Tebow won't go in the first round so everyone will have a shot at him and Shanahan would never draft a qb that doesn't have any qb skills.
