Post-Practice Interviews: Nolan Breaks His Silence, Ayers Arrives

Mike Nolan

Defensive coordinator Mike Nolan has been on a gag order (his words) by Head Coach Josh McDaniels for months. He finally broke his silence to the media after practice Monday and discussed the new Denver Broncos defense.

Meanwhile, Robert Ayers didn’t dress for practice but met the media afterward; check out the audio for both of these defensive difference-makers below.

    Jeff Legwold mentioned he saw the team running some 5-2 defense in early down situations at camp… Kyle, have you seen that? Do you think it’s just a change-up scheme designed to mess with the offense, or do you think we might see the Broncos trying something that ‘old school’ to stuff the run in early down situations?

    Not sure why this would be that big of deal, really….

    …..as it was only a couple years ago where they employed the 7-0 defense…….
