All hell has officially broken loose. Pat Bowlen has officially released a statement saying that he will comply with Jay Cutler’s trade requets. The AP article states,

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen released a statement saying both he and McDaniels had been unable to get Cutler to call them back over the last 10 days. Bowlen said he spoke with Cutler’s agent, Bus Cook, on Tuesday and came away convinced “that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.”

It’s a sad day indeed. Hopefully this is all just a bad April Fools joke. Where will Cutler land? Who will take over the reigns?

  • Anthony

RVG 10- if we get Shaun rogers we won’t draft Raji, Tyson jackson has average player written all over him. he had a less than stellar year at LSU this year and their entire defensive front will be in the NFL so i can’t say i like him at 12. people can say what they want about maualuge but he will be a beast in the NFL especially if we put him behind perennial All-Pro Shaun Rogers.

  • DepressedSF

To everyone who keeps moaning the loss of Cutler.

The Dolphins made the playoffs with Pennington.

The Falcons made the playoffs with Matt Ryan, a rookie starter.

The Ravens made the playoffs with Joe Flacco, a rookie starter.

We had Cutler start two straight years and couldn’t sniff the playoffs. He threw crucial pick after pick. Our new head coach turned Matt Cassel, a seventh round pick who hadn’t started a games since high school into a franchise quarterback. Let’s see what he can do, and look forward to brighter days ahead.

Goodbye and good riddance to the second coming of Jeff George.

    u go Kerry! lol

I like Romo With Cutler playing for Shanny next year…

    After that? Quinn Rogers …?
How good is Simms Right now? I really like his heart (and his Dad)

  • http://Broncotalk Ben BRADY QUINN AND SHAUN RODGERS

Hey I’m probably the biggest Jay cutler fan there is but its time to send him to cleveland for Rogers Quinn and a swith of the 1st rounders. Then we take Orakpo. I came to peace with this a long time ago, and ita juat time 2 see Jay go. Quinn is smart and has all the intangibles to be a star under McDaniels, he might have even more talent than Brady or Cassell. I still highly support McDaniels and I still like Cutler… just not as much.

  • AKscott

ahhh kerry, i used to kinda hate you. You’ve slowly become one of my favorite posters to read on here. I find myself agreeing with what you post so so so much. (except the wanting brady quinn) F-that, and F-him!! Lets get picks, draft defense, sign Byron leftwich and have simms and leftwich battle it out in camp.

  • jcampb72

Dolphins had parcells. Falcons had a run game. Ravens have a defense. We had cutler. I wouldn’t call Cassel a franchise QB. Also, Cutler > George.

  • Anthony33

Oh yeah. May Cutler leave his first game with another team on a stretcher!

    ALL
Quit talking about trades. What makes you think ANYONE in this organization is capable of pulling off a decent trade.

Should have hired Pioloi (or whatever the f his name is) at least he has a clue about running an organization.

  • Pat

Good Riddance you big baby. We should seriously sign Byron leftwich. Did anyone see how effective he was when Ben was hurt for the Steelers? He only sucked for the Jags because they have no receivers… we do. I think that he would thrive in denver and he is a free agent. Trade cutler for draft picks and fix the defense. McD you screwed up, but i am a bronco fan and not a cutler fan.

  • Anthony

If Cutler could have won one important game in his career it would have been beneficial geez. Look his rookie year final game of the season vs. San Fran lays an egg throws a pick 6 when we were up in that game that turned the tide and cost us the game. Buffalo game this year couldn’t get it done when we needed him most. how many times this year and last did we come flying out in games and then stall and not be able to move the ball. I understand that our defense was brutal no denying it. Remember 2006 Indy had ONE OF THE WORST DEFENCES OF ALL TIME AND WON THE SUPERBOWL. I love Cutler but this is ridiculous he has done nothing and beyond that he thinks he’s gonna go somewhere and get the protection that he had this year and have the waepons that he had. 627 dropbacks and 11 sacks yeah o.k Jay keep dreaming man. I dunno I love the Broncos and its totally mixed emotions right now. I just want this to end one way or another. It’s insane how this guy has acted. 10 days they’ve been trying to hash this out and he refuses to contact anyone what kind of an example does that set.

  • kerry

    AkScott:

dude Leftwich sucks and so does Simms. id rather have Jeff Garcia then both of them. face it this team is doomed no matter who we have now. so the ONLY way McDicksuckerdouchebagvaginalwart can salvage this is to get a whole stable of draft picks and some players. and high draft picks too. not some bullshit 1st rounder with a 3rd rounder. it has to be more then that.

  • ryan

Hey Buckey congrats on having a new baby boy! What a great blessing.

  • warfield42

You can keep Cutler…The Browns don’t want him and what makes you think the Browns would GIVE you Quinn AND Rodgers??? They wouldn’t.

  • DepressedSF

Cassel has the franchise tag, therefore he is a franchise qb. All the credit for that goes to McDaniels.

Dolphins went from 1-15 to a playoff team behind a QB who was thrown out by the Jets.

Ravens had a defense for years since winning the Super Bowl and couldn’t get anywhere. The credit goes to the steady, mistake free play of Flacco.

And we supposedly had more than Cutler. We had the mastermind as head coach, the genius. And all we got was embarrassed time after time.

Just watch the rest of Cutler’s career. He will be like Jeff George, and little like Jon Kitna now that I think of it. I feel very lucky that this happened before we got too deep.

  • AKscott

What about something like this (and maybe its been tossed out here already, so if so, my bad)
Cutler to Detroit for #20, their 2nd (#33 overall), their later 3rd rounder, and a 2nd next year.
The lions could grab the tackle they want at #1, and get their franchise QB.. which is more than they could expect if they held on to the picks

    That’d give us the #12, #20, #33, #48 of the top 50

Is that asking too much, not enough?

  • Anthony

This is all about MONEY I dont give a shit what anyone says its all about the benjamins. Agree or Disagree….If anyone thinks this is because they hurt his feelings hahahahaha what a p*ssy Cutler is if that is the real reason. This is the NFL not some cupcake league Jay.

  • http://denverbroncos.com MTBRONCOFAN

I totally agree with Pete send him to the browns and get Quinn ( a real QB ) plus a 1st round pick !! It’s good news for bronco nation, we can finally move on and get ready for the new season !! What a KICK ASS SEASON it will be ! ! ! ! GOD BLESS BRONCO NATION ! ! ! !

  • AKscott

kerry have you registered keedjayfireMcDicksuckerdouchebagvaginalwart.com yet??

    lol..

I wouldnt be against Garcia either, and i was pretty impressed with Byron last year. He looked good, he looked healthy, he had time to throw the ball, and thats one thing (hopefully) we can hang our hat on for next year.. our o-line can pass block

  • DepressedSF

    Well said Mike Freeman: http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/view/6264363

    Good riddance, Jay

    What a spoiled, petulant baby.

Denver owner Pat Bowlen said he attempted to reach his quarterback, Jay Cutler, by telephone for the past 10 days and Cutler didn’t return calls.

Now the Broncos are attempting to trade Cutler. Good for them.

Whatever team makes that trade had better be careful because Cutler is without question one of the more thin-skinned quarterbacks we’ve seen in a long time.

    Poor, poor Jay-be, way-be.

Not returning calls? Are you kidding me?

You can’t pick up the phone Jay and call back the team that has paid you millions of dollars? Not even one return call?

Who do you think you are, Plaxico Burress?

This is spoiled athlete territory and few people seem to agitated by it. In fact, Cutler will be rewarded for his petulant behavior by probably being traded to a contender like Chicago or New York.

My guess: Cutler ends up in New York which would be typical Jets. They’d trade for him and then Cutler would disintegrate the first time a New York tabloid sticks his gigantic head under an unflattering headline.

Don’t worry Denver. It’ll be addition by subtraction.

  • AKscott

    *keep* –keed.. moron

This sucks… I was on the Jay Cutler side. Now I think he his a complete Dumbass. This is just stupid. I feel sick now. 5-11 Denver Broncos… YAY!

  • Scott

My biggest issue with this whole fiasco is that Jay was the only player over the last 10 years that actually had a chance to live under John Elways shadow. Name them Plummer, Griese, Berlein, Ferotte etc. journeymen to say the least except Griese, but Jay’s cocky attitude and swagger actually gave him a fighting chance to play ball and forget the greatest QB to play the game.

Simms will not pull it off, either will any other QB I can think of, but Jay actually gave us a shot at greatness. What a shame. Now send his ass to Detroit.

  • jcampb72

hes killing jeff george already. youre just depressed. its clouding your judgement, jj. But I know one thing all those teams have in common, they didn’t win the big game. Cutler is one of a hand full of true franchise QB’s and he hasn’t even hit his prime. I hope our compensation is out of this world.

  • AKscott

alright kerry, your Garcia idea makes a bit of sense.. Jack Elway is a Soph this year at ASU, Garcia is the stop gap this year, next year we draft J.Elway, daddy lets #7 be worn in denver again. We have 5 superbowl appearances in the next decade and a half

    ITS FOOL PROOF!!!

  • http://ttmt.com T-Money: Link Ambassador
  • DepressedSF

To everyone saying the Jeff George comparison isn’t apt. What are you basing that on? If you look up George, and read the story of his career, look at his stats, look at the way the guy played, he and Cutler are so similar it’s spooky.

And George didn’t play under a coach like Shanahan his first three seasons.

  • http://ttmt.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

I have a feeling that we are going to get F-ed in a deal. Detroit seems to be really pushing Stafford. And I don’t think the Browns have any desire to trade either Anderson or Quinn. Tenn might give up Vince Young. I think he goes to NYJ for some picks and no player. We get robbed and regret it.

  • buckeyebronc

    Thanks Ryan!

I wonder if this would have happen with any other coach other than McDanials. You think this would have happend with Spags, Morris, or any of the other candidates? For some reason I don’t think so. My prediction is Cutler will have better career record wise than the Broncs. I mean any team can turn around without a QB but a solid defense and running game is a must. There hasn’t been a defense here since the SB’s and the zone blocking scheme is gone. I hear it now: “And with the first pick in the 2010 draft the Denver Broncos select QB Sam Bradford.”

  • AKscott

sam bradford looks like a retarded fish monkey!!

  • jcampb72

for 1 cutler is in his 3rd year. Are you telling me that you can see into the future? If so, whats the numbers for the powerball this month? 2nd, Cutler has already been to a Pro Bowl in just his third season (second as the full time starter) and George never made it to the pro bowl after more than a decade in the league. 3rd nevermind, im tired of sticking up for him, hes not even our qb.

  • http://ttmt.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

    AKScott.-

Jack Elway is only Red Shirting at ASU. All I have ever seen him do is walk the sidelines. He’ll never outcast his fathers shadow! EVER!

  • jcampb72

Agreed AK, he looks a lil on the inbred side.

  • DepressedSF

So what if Cutler was in the Pro Bowl this past season. So was Kerry Collins. Cutler shouldn’t have been in ahead of Rivers, Pennington, or Cassel.

  • http://ttmt.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

I just hear that Vic Lobardi talked to Jay and Jay said that he isn’t going to comment on Pat Bowlen’s comments until the Broncos contact him and tell them that he’s been traded.

How is it that a NEWS channel can contact him but his boss cant

    Did he change his number?

  • roshon2411

Terrell Owens = Jeff George, Jay Cutler = John Elway in 83′ and 91′ Remember when Elway was considered the crybaby. Instead of getting rid of the QB we got rid of the coach and a few years later won a superbowl. I say trade McDaniels and our first round draft pick to the Jets for Rex Ryan. At least the guys he brought with him from his former team are good.

  • AKscott

    T-money.. c’mon dude, sarcasm..
HOWEVER, after next year he will be draft eligible.. (3 yrs removed from HS, similar to crabtree this year), he wears #7 at ASU, and has a last name of Elway.. that’s all i need to see
but really tho.. that sound outside, its the sarcasm bus pulling up.. dont miss it

  • jcampb72

Maybe he SHOULD’NT have but he WAS.

It was just confirmed!!! Cutbait is going to the lions for their 33rd pick and some guy named Drew Stanton. I guess he’s a QB….

  • AKscott

    jcampb72
Whenever i see the evolution episode of SP i think of Sam Bradford.. no joke.. (and Phylis Rivers)

I dont even want to entertain the idea of a cutty trade in my head, so instead im thinking of other things..

LIKE, can you imagine if Bradford and Rivers got at each other after a game and had a baby??

    F’n HIDEOUS!!

  • rob

Im glad to see it happen, Lets face it Cutler was Mikes diamond in the rough and frankly more rough than diamond. What the team gets for him is gonna be the real issue…Pro Bowl QB or diabetes suffering, attitude problem that never really learned to lead a team. Im glad hes gone.

  • http://ttmt.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

i think it’s weird that the Broncos say they have been trying to contact him and then Jay says he’s waiting for them to contact him

What the hell is happening to the Denver Broncos?

  • jvill

OK, so our offensive genius and former quarterbacks coach gets to pick a QB to his liking, with a fairly good number of intriguing options available, and a very highly valued QB asset to cash in and spend. I know many of you are preparing your hari-kari swords, but step back a second.

What’s done is done. McDaniels was clumsy, and Cutler a man-child, but it’s done.

If McDaniels is so good, and Xanders worthy of his title, this is their first big chance to set the direction for the franchise, and they’ve got lots of leeway and options.

    Let’s see what they’ve got…

You know about caller ID, right?

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

Jay’s not a dumb-ass for looking out for himself the same as the team said they were doing! (T-money) I’m mad he didn’t step up and forget what a weasel his coach seems to be… but look at McD in that interview smiling sheepishly and clearing his throat… Jay lost his coach, his co-ordinator, 7 running backs last year & BM for part of this year again… he’s supposed to kiss this dick’s ass for 1.8 million?

    I don’t think I could!

  • Justin

For the most part I was hopeful Jay would return because he was such a great quaterback. Even when everyone was blaming him for his poor attitude I was willing to place a significant blame on McDaniels and Cook. However, by refusing to accept phone calls from McDaniels and Bowlen is just petty and pathetic and can finally be happy with getting him out of Denver. I have become super excited about the prospects that the Broncos may receive in return for Cutler and how much this may screw up every Mock Draft on the internet. I can only hope Cutler goes on to have a mediocre career like his comparison, Jeff George and that he never truly develops his talent and continues to make mistakes. One thing I reccommend is to get through this year on two average quarterbacks so that next draft year we could pick up Colt McCoy as our franchise QB for the future. What do you guys think?

  • http://ttmt.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

    WhidbeyBronco-

I agree. I think this whole thing is just f-ed. My point was that this was poorly handled by BOTH parties at an EXTREMELY immature level. I still think that BUS (I hope karma bites you in the ass!) COOK is behind this, more than Jay or Josh.

    Jvill-

I see you can be a smartass. Congrats. Have you every heard of Sarcasm? AKscott ripped me a new one about it earlier. You two seem to miss all the humor.

  • Jordan C

Let begin the Pat White Era! (in 2010…or after the lock-out)

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

Yeah I’ve just worn out my second cook voodoo doll tonight! That bastard will have some karma coming!

You want humor… check out Cutler removed from our roster as QB but left on as second string holder…

  • AKscott

ahhh t-money i didnt rip you a new one.. just f’n with ya a bit. I appreciate what you bring to this site.

  • RW

Our offense was good at the end of last season. Guaranteed if we had a defense last year we would have made playoffs possibly more. This is gonna set us back big time. Lets trade Cutler for a bomb ass running back and some draft picks, maybe someone 4 our dline. Sign Vick 4 our QB!!!!!!!!!!! Whos with mne?????????
