While on the Dan Patrick Radio Show, the San Diego Chargers’ running back LaDainian Tomlinson stated

that the Broncos were on the short list of teams he was considering if the San Diego contract fell apart. The other teams Tomlinson was considering were the Saints and Ravens. Tomlinson in Denver probably wouldn’t help ease the Broncos-Chargers rivalry. The article states,

“Tomlinson said he did start to think about where he might play next when things got dicey with the Chargers. The first team he mentioned was New Orleans, which he said was everyone’s obvious choice. He agreed, the Saints made a lot of sense. He also thought Baltimore would be great because his former coordinator Cam Cameron is there. Also, Denver would have been a good fit.”

I know, L.T. a Bronco. That would have been a sight to see, with a hefty price tag of course. This is all water under the bridge at this point, but it’s still crazy to ponder what could have been, for better or worse. What do you think Denver? Would L.T. been worth Denver’s time and money? IMO, I think things turned out for the best.

I think it’s easy to say now, and I’m sure he’s putting it out there as a reminder to the Chargers about just how close he came to leaving. But I don’t see him as much of an impact player anymore. He wasn’t a factor last season, and now he’ll be warming the bench and coming in on third downs and goal line situations. IMHO, the Chargers blew it by keeping him. That money could have been used elsewhere. Not to mention that LT would have signed with the Saints – without a doubt.

Completely agree Rob. I think he would have been a waste of money here, and Denver was probably his 3rd of 3. It’s just strange that he even considered Mile High.

No thanks, we need a full time back, a TD type. But we won’t be seeing that this year. But I like having fresh legs in the game who are role players. It will be interesting to see who McD goes with this season.

L.T. is past his prime and I don’t think I could ever stand the sight of him in a Broncos uniform. He’s a charger and always will be and I say f*** the chargers. The money is also a factor and McD has already signed enough backs and if for some reason the coaches feel they need another one this draft is loaded at the RB position. I rather have a rookie with less wear and tear than a washed vet any day.

    Mr. East . . . a galant thought . . . but a moot retort . . . LT will retire as a Charger . . . so be it . . .

A better thread to unravel . . . “Where will Jay Cutler end up” . . . if he doesn’t show up Monday at Dove Valley . . . .

Any team you choose will become that much more dangerous . . .
especially Tampa Bay . . . . which is the team his agent Bus Cook wanted him to be playing for . . . which might be the root of the last two weeks fiasco having the Bronco’s on the short end of the stick . . .

it would have been awesome to see him penetrate their defense… I would have laughed at Charger fans in my New LT orange and blue jersey……I heard him say that on DP…I also heard how full of himself LT really is..this is the years the wheels on bus fall off for the Chargers…..ITS NORV TURNER SYNDROME TIME

  • flbronc

gosh i hope selvin young doesnt go all cutler on us about this….

The best place for a washed up Charger is the Chargers. Way to go AJ, spend Spanos’s money on (at present) marginal, injury prone old RBs. Look how well it worked out for Shanny!

  • Roy

I almost wouldn’t have minded it (for the right price) just to stick it to the chargers. I laugh everytime I think what Rivers’ face would have looked like the min he heard…

  • broncobilly32

NO. No. No. LT can’t don the orange and blue. Oh, and for Cutler…don’t let the horse kick you in the ass on your way to Detroit.

  • Jon Krause

as long as we don’t have to play him twice a year i don’t care where he goes
