I was as upset, angry, disappointed, sad, confused, and just plain pissed at Sunday’s 23-30 loss to the Bills as any of you out there. How the Broncos can collapse like they have the past two weeks is beyond me.

It’s hard to even care about the team after such an emotional letdown. The Broncos were up 13-0 in the second quarter against a team boasting a 1-7 record in their past 8 games. Suddenly, Buffalo’s offense could not be stopped. They scored 30 points to our 10 and the Broncos didn’t do their part on a freezing cold “Fan Appreciation Day.”

In response, most fans have thrown in the towel. Going into San Diego and beating the Chargers in their stadium, at face value, seems like an insurmountable task. It’s a match against two teams going in different directions.

But I awoke this morning with a renewed vigor. A renewed focus. The Denver Broncos will go into San Diego and beat the Chargers on their own turf and keep the AFC West lead they’ve held all 16 weeks this season. And you know why you should care?

F*** the Chargers, that’s why.

F*** San Diego’s tired excuse of Ed Hochuli blowing a whistle, and then beat ’em anyway.

F*** San Diego’s fair weather fans and their pathetic blackout extensions.

F*** San Diego’s whiny-as-hell superstar running back and his performance-hindering toe injury.

F*** San Diego’s loud mouth quarterback, for all the Broncos players and NFL fans he’s ever disrespected by pointing his mouth in their direction.

F*** San Diego’s overrated defense that was exposed this year as a one-man wrecking crew.

F*** San Diego’s 7-8 record that would win the AFC West at .500 with a win. This division deserves better, and if the Broncos win, they’ll give it a winner at 9-7.

F*** San Diego’s wins over the Chiefs and Raiders that give them the tiebreaker edge in the division while the Broncos beat better teams in the Saints and Falcons instead.

F*** the Chargers.

If you can’t scream for the Broncos after yesterday’s game, scream for the opponent of the most undeserving-but-could-be-a-playoff team in the NFL. The Chargers beat the Raiders and the crumbling Bucs to get back in the mix. They don’t deserve this.

So it comes down to this – the winner of this game wins the AFC West Championship and a home playoff game. There isn’t a Broncos fan out there who wouldn’t have jumped at this opportunity four months ago. The Broncos have been the better team for 16 weeks this season. We have one more week to put the nail in coffin. Let’s get it done.

Go Broncos! F*** the Chargers!

  • Mizike

I wasn’t as angry at this game.. these Broncs honestly are just not that good.
I accepted that after the Faider game.

But.. to all of those Shanahan haters that come out of the woodwork.. we need to remember that we had 6 RB’s go on IR this year.. around 4 different safeties and all of our starting LB’s out.

No matter what happens Sunday.. neither team is going far in the playoffs. We are locked and loaded for next year.. a young team, 10 draft picks and half the injuries should take us far..

    Merry Christmas!

  • Andpark

Love the passion Kyle. We wanted a fight and we got one, in primetime. I just cannot believe this running situation, I am speechless. The exact moment I go “Pope seems like he can do somethings, alright” he is out. Defense needs to show some balls and Cutler needs to show the league who this team is. No more excuses, no more yapping about the Hochuli call, no more bitching and crying about Shan. This is it.

We have more then a few big wins on the road this year. I want to see some fight from the Broncos. F*** the Chargers.

  • DepressedSF

Kyle, I can’t really believe I’m saying this, but, HERE HERE. I think you are incredibly right. Even if I wasn’t a Broncos fan I’d still hate the bitch ass Chargers. Go Broncos. Suck it up.

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com hercules rockefeller

We don’t exactly deserve the division either…

  • BroncoFan18

I respect a lot of the players on that San Diego team. Even though LT seems to get injured the second the Chargers look like they’re losing, I still have a lot of respect for the guy. I think he has class.

But if there is one reason we should beat the Chargers, it is Rivers. Never before have I seen someone with so little respect fot the game. Taunting Cutler last year was enough, but when he did the same after the Colts game, the line was cross. You don’t do that to Peyton Manning, dumb***. You’re not even in his league. So please Broncos, beat the Chargers just so I can see the look on River’s face.

Beat the Chargers to make the playoffs, anything can happen.

Beat the Chargers so we can get some respect from the national media in primetime.

To be honest with you, I like it like this. Granted, I would give just about anything to have the division wrapped up before now. But it’s almost nice to know that if we win this game, the Hochuli call is irrelevant. You have your chance, Charger fans. If we win this, you can shut up.

So beat the Chargers, so we can finally wipe the smirk of River’s face, get San Diego fans to close their big mouths that are oddly similar to River’s, and so we can jump into the playoffs with some momentum and a little chip on our shoulder.

  • PaulinVegas

Beating the Chargers in a game like this would be a season maker for me. A chance in the playoffs is all we need, anything can happen. The experience for our rookies is invaluable. One more win Broncos! Then be competitve in the first round, and let the chips fall…WE CAN DO THIS!

  • Josh

That pretty much sums up my feelings: F*** the Chargers. Would you mind editing the post to put “F*** Phillip Rivers” in bold? Damn, I hate that guy.

  • kerry

wow. excuse making at its finest. “oh its the injuries fault” funny how when the Broncos win a game its “Despite the injuries and because Shanny is such a genius” Denver loses and its “oh this is a young team and full of injuries” come on!! stop the excuses!! before the injuries the team was terrible. especially the defense!! Champ is in there and the defense gives up 30 to Buffalo. are all of you politicians?? because you sure know how to pass the blame! stop with the excuses! this run of mediocrity is going to continue. HELLO?!??! anyone home?

  • http://birty.blogspot.com mikebirty

Yeah good on you Kyle! F*** the Chargers. F*** the Bronco Haters. F*** everyone.

And merry christmas to you all.

  • Linmoo

I agree with PaulinVegas. The way I remember this season, other than “who the f*** is at running back now?”, will come down to Sunday’s game against the Chargers. And I fear that this Broncos team…particularly the Defense…has already given up. They’re too young, too inexperienced, and too beat up to make a statement now. These guys are getting scored on more than Paris Hilton at a Grey Goose party (heyooo…pop culture reference).

Still, what would this team be right now without Jay Cutler and the Shanahan offense? Quite frankly, they’d be the Lions. Here’s hoping to a defense-heavy draft….

  • Truman

The chargers lost games they should have won and so did the Broncos. I really believe that the team that deserves to win is the team who decides they want it the most. We all know the Broncos are capable of beating anyone. I just hope they believe it.

  • Bucky

Our regular thanks go out to the resident Yanker, for his rant and making himself appear the constant, Thanks as always Kerry. As for me, I think we can do it, i agree that the Chargers are on a high that they didn’t really earn, they just fell into. I also think that we are not as bad as we looked over the last two weeks, but I have to say, win or loose this game i will be excited to see our draft picks for next year, and maybe see us make a big splash in the free agent market, not like in the past, but with one guy, one big time player, IMO that would be to go out and get Nnamdi Asomugha from the raiders, I know everyone keeps saying Haynesworth, but the Titans have big cap room just like us and they will lock him up. Nnamdi isn’t happy in Oakland and will be UFA this year, we can get this guy and maybe Rocky Bernard from Seattle, Big DT, shore up the rest with the Awesome drafts picks we will get and our D could be about as good as our top ranked O. the only thing we need to work hard to find will be a top tier RB (maybe a new strength coach or two) and we should be in solid shape.

Edited for violation of BroncoTalk’s comments policy

  • jchase8410

This works out for me pretty well. Mt sister got me tickets to this game for Christmas, and I would much rather go watch a game that is a must win for the Broncs. If they sat their starters to rest for the playoffs, it wouldn’t be as much fun. I am not expecting much, but if they can pull out a huge win in San Diego, I will be stoked!
If there was ever a game that we need to get to the QB it is this one. They need to punch Philip Rivers straight in his sh**-talking mouth as often as possible. Keep him guessing…throw some blitz packages at him, some line stunts, stop playing such generic defense.
Offense, if you can’t get a running game going, and the Chargers are dropping 7 and running free on the D-line, run some QB draws. Let Cutler be the running game too if needs be. Prater needs to get beat with bars of soap if he keeps missing field goals…or be replaced.
If Denver loses this game, they had better show up and at least make a contest out of it

  • mcm

I dont understand why Shannahan doesnt play scheffler more especially in the RED ZONE – he switches to 4 WR sets and it doesn’t work. WHY DO YOU HAVE A 6′-5″ guy that LB’s cant cover and is taller than most DB”S sitting on the bench? He is way under utilized.
Get him involved if you want to have any chance at beating SD

  • kerry

    hey bucky,

the only morons are the ones who continue to blindly follow a medicore head coach right over the edge. you question my knowledge?? if you knew anything you would already know Al Davis has stated that Nnamdi Asomugha will be franchised. thus he wont be a UFA. duh!! and were not as bad as we loked over the last two weeks huh?? lets see..Delhomme torched us, they put 8 in the box and the Panthers ran wild. Trent Edwards hasnt played in a month and torches the defense. not as bad as we look huh? no we look worse. and you say shore up the defense with “awesome draft picks” HAHAHAHAHA. forget who is making those picks?? yeah Shanahan is doing that. hasnt had an “awesome draft pick” since Al Wilson. but now he is gonna have an “awesome Draft”??? PPPFFFTTTT! this is the same coach that traded for Dewayne Robertson over Shaun Rogers. who by the way is in the Pro Bowl. try posting some fact. simple drivel makes you the moron.

  • Gary in Denver

Can someone just ask the Broncos players to stop saying how much better a team they are than their winning opponents? First, it’s a little late to be saying it and, second, whether they are or not, they still lost.

  • Footballguy

Why hate on Rivers? Do you guys know exactly what was said betweehn Rivers and Cutler? For all we know, Cutler could have been running his mouth all game too. I like the fire of both QB’s. Rivers is actually a standup guy, he just has a great passion for the game he’s been playing all his life. Nothing wrong with talking smack during the game and to heckling fans. It’s an emotional sport for god sakes. At least he’s not a primadonna egotistical cancer like T.O.

Game in SD will be a good one, but I don’t see Denver winning.

  • Patrick

Awesome draft pick in ten years he says…he’ll be here all season folks….

  • DB

Since Al Wilson Karry?? please man, have you forgot WHY the broncos are in the place they are right now? Eddie Royal, Peyten Hillis??? ring a bell??

  • T-Money

I hate the chargers and I hope we embarrass their ass in the backyard. I’m still so pissed that we lost that game. I was there FREEZING MY BALLS OFF… I can’t believe this crap. We looked so good after that opening drive. F*@#

  • http://www.boltsfromtheblue.com/ Richard

I’m curious about something. If the Raiders and Chiefs are such cream puffs, how did the Broncos manage to lose to them by three and two touchdowns respectively?

Also, I’m curious why you think a team with a negative point differential would be more respectable as the division’s representative in the playoffs than a team that should they win on Sunday will only be 8-8 rather than 9-7 because of a blown call by a referee in an earlier head-to-head contest.

You seem very angry and perhaps that’s what clouded your judgment with regard to these and myriad other wrongheaded statements you made.

  • http://broncomadness.com Garrett Barnes

Now I’m pumped up Kyle!!!!! Whohooo go Broncos!

  • boston

so tired of hearing all the excuses: we re young, injured, blahblah. what team is old? what team hasnt had injuries? pats arent making any excuses.

as far as qbs go i compared stats and its not even close.. rivers superior in every stat but total yds; and cutler seems to do just as much yapping as rivers.

in the end its all moot, even if the donkeys made it into playoffs you have to be on some serious meds to think they have a chance of beating indy, steelers, or my pats…remember 41-7 hahahaha

  • boston

    ps.

wishing all you an unhappy holiday in that: smog filled; crime ridden; 2nd rate town in the middle of nowhere….and bolts are going to give cutler and friends the beat downhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • http://broncotalk Jeff

This is highly inappropiate and overall extremely profane, however it might be the most accurate description of Philip Rivers… possibly ever. Courtesy of Drew Magary at deadspin:

I watched the Chargers play last week, and I think there’s a highly underreported story going on in the NFL this year. And that is that Philip Rivers is a douchebag. Big douchebag. HUGE douchebag. He’s the kind of fuckhead that wears Nantucket reds to a cocktail party and then pinches your sister’s tits. He’s the kind of shit-eating cockgobbler that throws Bacardi Silver peepee parties with JJ Redick. He’s the kind of guy who ends up working at an investment bank and spending his weekends beating his girlfriend as she tries to put herself through graduate school. I know the type. I live in Washington, okay? There are loads of these douches here, overcrowding the bars, rocking visors and running the Federal government.

Rivers is the kind of douchebag that, quite literally, stomps his feet when things don’t go his way during the game. As Ufford once said, “He looks like the kind of asshole who treats waitresses like shit, then stiffs them.” We should make this prick an honorary lacrosse player. Norv gets his fair share of blame for what’s going on in San Diego. But Rivers deserves equal ire. IRE, I say! You’re ruining LT with your inaccuracy and your cattiness, Rivers! And I’m calling you out!

In fact, I’m gonna give Rivers a new nickname. Rivers, from now on, your name is fucking Marmalard. Don’t like it? Well, go cry to the officials about it. It’s all you do anyway. Fucking Marmalard. Maybe you and Jimmy Clausen can go bowling sometime.

  • Marshallfan15

Why would anyone think that San De-f*****igo would win the m*****f*****g AFC West?????? Thats f#@kin stupid! All you dumb@#s

  • Marshallfan15

Good Kyles not f&#ked up with Charger-f#@*&g mania

  • broncoNM

I could not agree more. I hate phillis. Always will.

Broncos dont have a chance… EEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Norval “nutsack” Turner is the head coach of the chargers. This guy is a born loser. That is what he does. Everywhere he goes. Norval has taken a preseason super bowl contender to a 7-8 record. Why should we be scared of these guys.
This game could go either way but i will never predict any team coached by Norval to blow us out.

  • http://www.donkeys.com cxdc dcdc

You guys are a bunch of idiots. I have been a 20-year bronco fan. This team sucks. Cutless sucks. Shenanagan is a loser. Chump is old and slow. I am sick of this team. Rivers is a damn good QB. We got a cocky, overrated, intercept-throwing punk. Hate to say it: Chargers will destoy us again because they own us and the AFC West.

  • ColoradoCutler

Wow is that the best defence all the dolts fans can muster for that emotionaly unstable Q.B. Cutler talks smack to??? what ???? How many times has Jay run on the field of play to taunt another player or had words with a Fan,coach,or better yet needed to be restrainend from jaw jacking a Ref. L.T. even hates him,not as much as I do but still! So admit the facts he mave have some tallent but he is an emotionally stunted petulant child! Next how sweet will it be to go into S.D. and lay a beat down on them.(and watch Rivers have yet another on field tantrum) Im happy it came to this now the only thing thay had to hold onto for redemption of this season was ed H’s bad call now when its all said and done thay wont even have that AWSOME!!!!!!!!!

  • ColoradoCutler

How about cry me a Rivers? got a ring 2 it!

  • jchase8410

Richard…did you not watch the week 2 game? Were there not 2 more chances to stop the broncos offense AFTER the bad call? You charger fans all hold on to a single play, but had the call gone your way, and SD won that game…would it be because the chargers are better? Absolutely not…you would have won because Jay messed up, not because of anything that a chargers player did. The better team won the game in week 2. The same can be said of the outcome of Sundays game. The better team on Sunday will win.

  • jeremy

I am a die hard Bronco fan. But seriously. We suck. Jay Cutler is only 26 and he already has a double chin. He looks like a chubby little rich kid. Phillip Rivers should have got the Pro bowl. I got season tickets to watch the broncos lose all the time. they cant seal the deal. And quite frankly, I think the chargers are gonna kick their Turdholes,!Its better than me shelling out another 500 bucks to watch INDY do it at invesco. SCREW THE 2008 BRONCOS. WE SUCK!!!!

  • boston

coloradocutler hahaha what a douche. maybe i should try an post in hebrew. iam a pats fan..hence boston duhh!!! who just happens to hate the donkeys, and their delusional fans. trust me every afc team fans want you to win sunday. we would much rather face donkeys than bolts. donkeys have a very good passing game the rest of the team sucks, and you all know it. thats not going to scare anyone in playoffs. last time i checked i didnt hear rivers claiming to be better than fouts, and at least he has been to the playoffs. cutler is a punk; marshall is a thug; and the rest of the team besides for champ is mediocre. like i said 41-7 says it all

  • BroncoFAN 2008

Ive been a Bronco fan since the 70s. Elway was great. But seriously. we dont deserve the playoffs.
Why set ourselves up for more dissappointment? Rivers is a prick , true, buts lets face it. If we could trade Cutler for him, we would!!!
Also, really, we dont deserve this division. At least I think SD could get somewhere in the division. We cant even beat 2-11 teams at home.

  • boston

p.s. donkey fans should be the last one’s talking about deserving anything. you lose to the RAIDERS!!!! at home by 21hahahahahah. your pathetic doesnt deserve to go anywhere..bunch of losers. again your team SUCKS, none of your gimpy rbs were any good anyway, and denver is a craphole for town. enjoy living in yesteryear..GO PATS

  • Bucky

Wow, Kerry i think you need to get your head checked, it is not possible to Franchise a player two years in a row, and since all Franchised Nnamdi last year, I’m guessing he’ll be a strait up UFA. i think you’ve already been beaten down on the rest of your brilliant points, so I’ll leave you with that.

  • Bucky

Just in case your stunned by your own genius.

    http://oak.scout.com/2/730647.html

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

A player can and has been slapped with the franchise tag multiple years in a row.

Seattle’s Walter Jones was franchised three or four years in a row.

It’s just these days, most players ‘say’ they won’t sign the contract unless the team includes a clause saying they won’t get franchised again.

And no more insults to other commenters. Period. It’s against the Comments Policy.

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

How in the world do people really call themselves Broncos fans when they are actually ROOTING for the Chargers?! Please, someone explain.

You would trade Cutler for Rivers? Are you kidding me? Go be a Chargers fan then. Cutler has been asked to do more than any other quarterback in the NFL this year.

  • Bucky

Whatever dude, tell that to the yankee that keeps slammin every person on this board, im just postin in response to that great guy, and all im saying with the franchise is that it wont be possible, Nnamdi aint happy there and players just don’t do the franchise twice, especially for the Raiders. I’m Out.

  • http://www.getyourtinton.com precisiontint

F%#k the Chargers indeed. I like it.

I will have my D-Will jersey on and rep it with pride. The Broncos will win because I don’t think they have a chance. The rollercoaster season ride continues.

    All Ready!

  • T-Money

For everbody that is bashing excusses… You might want to a take a look at the Injuried Reserve List. 8….yes 8…. running backs.

You can’t expect cutler to do it all by himself. I wish he could but he cant. You need a running game.

And everybody in here that is rooting for the chargers needs to stop coming to this site and littering then comments. Incase you missed it when you typed it in it’s “BRONCO”TALK.NET

  • http://www.glorifythepast.com Dave

He’s right on one part. F*** the Chargers for winning divisional games against opponents that we should have beaten. The Broncos (since they are obviously the better team) wouldn’t be in this predicament if they could have beat those two. Let’s compare the other wins:

    Chargers:
Teams they beat by more than one score:
Jets, Patriots, Raiders (twice), and Buccaneers
Teams the beat by less than one score:
    Chiefs (twice)
Lost by less than one score:
Panthers, Broncos, Dolphins, Saints, Steelers, Colts, Falcons (all of which are playoff teams)
Lost by more than one score:
    Bills

    Broncos:
Teams they beat by more than one score:
    Raiders and Jets
Teams the beat by less than one score:
Chargers, Saints, Buccaneers, Browns, Falcons, and Chiefs
Lost by less than one score:
    Jaguars and Bills
Lost by more than one score:
Chiefs, Patriots, Dolphins, Raiders, and Panthers

So while he’s screaming F*** the Chargers, hopefully, he’s f***ing himself in the process.

  • http://www.glorifythepast.com Dave

    F*** the Broncos, that’s why.

F*** Denver’s lucky break by Ed Hochuli blowing a whistle, and winning (it really doesn’t matter at this point anyhow: we’d both be 8-7 heading into this week…a moot point now)

F*** Denver’s pathetic fans and their wide receivers proclomation that its “their division”

F*** Denver’s whiny-as-hell, blame-it-on-everyone-else attitude QB and his wide receiver who slipped on a McDonalds wrapper (yeah, right…)

F*** Denver’s loud mouth wide reciever, chop blocking punk linemen, ex-Charger loudmouth McCree and rat-faced coach

F*** Denver’s overrated ofense that was exposed later in the year as a fraud (10 points against the Raiders?…7 points against the Patriots?…puhleeezzzeee!!!)

F*** Denver period. They have no one but themselves to blame for their meltdown. They proclaimed themselves unbeatable after a 4-1 start..yet here the Chargers sit, peaking at the right time. I’d rather back into the playoffs than blow a three game lead, not make it and then have to watch from the couch…again.

Don’t F*** Denver’s 8-7 record that would lose the AFC West at .500 with a loss. This division deserves better, but too bad, thats just the way it played out this year..

F*** San Diego’s wins over the Chiefs and Raiders that give them the tiebreaker edge in the division while the Broncos beat better teams in the Saints and Falcons instead…(I’ll leave this as is…its too funny to ignore)

F*** the Broncos, their pathetic barrell wearing fans, their rat-faced coach, their punk wide receiver and their quarterback who should’ve been cast in Dumb and Dumber. F*** ’em all!!

  • boston

god almighty enough the excuses. none, NONE of those 8 rbs were better than avg. its not like they lost baary sanders for the yr.
cutler couldnt hold elways jock..elway was the team, and took them to sb multiple times.

qb rating pct yds y/a tds ints

    cutler 87.0 61.9 4210 7.4 24 16

    rivers 104. 64.8 3802 8.3 32 11

    cutler: 0 playoff wins, 0 div.championships
rivers: 2 time defending div. winner afc championship game

give me a break.hahahahh not even close

KYLE: leader of the delusional”no qb asked to do more” really? how about peyton with addai being out?how about big ben having parker, and mendenhall out for a good part of season? how about whomever is playing qb for seahawks any given week? how about flacco and that miserable offense?
give it a rest Kyle!! cutler is a good qb, with a very good o-line, and excellent receivers nothing more. he is not even in the top ten.
and damn sure is no elway, and never will be!!!

  • thirdandlong303

I am a Broncos fan but they are to soft this year.
