ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported just a moment ago that while Champ Bailey made the trip to Charlotte, NC- he isn’t likely to play. Mike Shanahan likes his captains to travel with the team, but Bailey’s groin injury will force him to miss a seventh-straight game.

I heard it will be a Game Time decision. I hope he plays other wise Steve Smith will be a huge treat.

  • Bobby

    Yeah me too….Go Broncos!….Go Chiefs?

T-Money- It might actually work out for Denver if Carolina decides that they want to pass on the Broncos instead of running the ball. I think Dre Bly can hold his own against anyone, including one of the best in the NFL in Steve Smith. Though, I can see why some may disagree.

I think we’ll be fine either way. I like Champ over Bly but I like Bly too. It’s almost game time. Let’s go chiefs.

For future reference, groin injury = worse injury than broken bone.

any way to watch th KC game on the web?

  • AKscott

yeah thats a great point ian.. although i imagine it’ll be more of a heavy run oriented offense for them, with a few deep shots down field mixed in trying to beat Dre deep.
Barrett needs to have a big game in coverage, AND in run support, and webster needs to stay home and not over pursue IMO

  • Bobby

Is anybody watching the SD / KC game?

AKscott- exactly, Webster was not as good as he needed to be against the Chiefs. Hopefully with D.J. Williams back, the linebackers get their swagger back.

Bobby- I’m stuck with the Jets vs. Bills game which is starting to scare me because the Bills look great. A Jets loss could force Denver to win out to remain in that third spot in the playoffs.

    homertv.net for the chiefs game

  • AKscott

yeah ian, im still holding out hope that Woodyard is getting the start and they are being quiet about it like w larsen a few weeks ago.. although i highly doubt it. Webster plays with passion and i like that, but he is really just a solid back up, and not a starter

It’d be better that Champ doesn’t play. Last they need is for him to aggravate it and have a set back. They’ll need him in the playoffs more than now.
And as for Bly, at least he’s better than that idiot that was ‘covering’ Smith last week.
I hope it does rain. Cutler does better with a wet ball than most, especially Delhomme. The D just has to keep the Carolina running game in check, and make Delhomme beat them, otherwise it could be a looooong short game.

Well with the way the Chief/Charger game has gone there is no sense is risking him to worse injury.
