We’ve added a new main poll to the sidebar and would love to hear what you folks think. After a surprise 3-0 start, when do the Broncos lose their first game of the year?

We’re just taking a look up to the bye week, as the schedule looks a bit more intense after Sunday’s visit to always-difficult Arrowhead.  In Weeks Five and Six we have back-to-back home games vs. Florida teams (Tampa Bay and Jacksonville), then the Matt Cassell-led Patriots come to town.

Or, if you think we’ll remain undefeated through the bye week, you can make your mark there, too.  As always we invite you guys to discuss right here in the comments.  I’ll start.

The Chiefs are a fierce rival with their backs against a wall.  They will give us their all, but even then I don’t see a loss coming Sunday.  Tampa will try to unleash Brian Griese on us, but I think we’ll escape there with a win.  I see Jacksonville coming as our first loss of the year – the defensive line disrupts the o-line a bit, the running game doesn’t quite get going (it rarely does against JAC), and they’re one of the few teams with the tools to disrupt our passing game.  I’m not overlooking New England, either – 5-2 seems possible to me.

But 5-2 is great!  Bring it on!

When will the Broncos lose their first game?

A lost to New England?!?!? The Broncos are one of the teams in the league that can consistently beat the Patriots wherever they play at. I think the Dolphins showed how mortal they are and this Broncos team will easily take them out. I say 6-1 and I agree with you about Jacksonville. They will be tough.

I disagree. I’m going to say that our defense shows up to JAC and we have another nail biter. But we always beat new england. Even with Tom Brady. I think we have a really good shot at being 7-0 at the break. but nevertheless 6-1 is not bad either. But JAC will be our biggest test hands down.

we are gonna go 7-0. Jacksonville is not that good. their O-line has alot of injuries, they have no WR to fear, Garrard is WAY overrated. they dont have Marcus Stroud on the D-line anymore. and forget about New England. Bill Belichick doesnt believe in running then football, and with Brady out they cant get the ball to Randy Moss. i say 7-0 and maybe even further then that.

I see us beating k.c. easliy, then a homegame will get the win. Not to mention jacksonville is OVER-RATED! same with N.E. who we whip every time!

  • Denver Diehard

I’ll go beyond the break when they play Miami in week 9. Denver could actually be sitting at 8-0. Wouldn’t that be something? At the worst, I think 7-1 after Miami. The loss could come from Tampa or Jacksonville, but not both.

8-0 and off we go! When we are 8-0 they will stop talking about luck. Our defense can only get better especially as the weather turns, more and more teams will have to run first because of weather.

I also love the schedule after the bye… MIA, CLE, ATL, OAK…

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

This is a completely different team from the Jake Plummer / Rod Smith / Al Wilson / John Lynch era. Totally different. We haven’t played the Pats since Javon Walker torched them in his 4th or 5th week as a Bronco in 2006.

Anyone overlooking the Pats, even after last week, is asking for it.

I think we’ll be 6-1, but I wouldn’t be surprised to be 5-2 in the least. The losses will come from one or two of TB, JAC, and NE.

  • T-Money

IF THE DEFENSE GETS BETTER. we’ll beat new england. They are scary but they are not new. It’s the always the same thing that they bring to the table with denver.

I’m going to that Monday night game at New England! I can’t wait to have beer and fries thrown at me again as I cheer on our Broncos!

  • OC Bronco

I think we overlook the Chefs. And only win by 10…. Jax is my best guess as well. Just as long as its not the Chefs!

  • jchase8410

I said during pre-season that I thought the Broncos had a legitimate shot at 6-1 going into the bye. What I have seen in the first three weeks, I think they have a legitimate shot at 7-0. I love the first few weeks after the bye, so I’m saying 13-3 with a strong shot at the AFC title…but first things first, wiggle your big toe. After a lethargic lazy finish to last season, I find it hard to have complete faith in the “Mile High Magic.” However, two W’s against two strong, playoff caliber teams have me buying in.

    P.S.
(wiggle your big toe) means we have to get past the chefs.

annother thing u don’t get is that the running game in Denver, for the first time in a long time, is not the issue!

  • METALMAN5050

The other thing that u don’t understand is the fact that the Denver running game is not an issue! PASS PASS PASS AND! Wat do you need after that other than a good D?!

  • METALMAN5050

I am a little bit, no, very tired of the fact that this site is not very user friendly. I leave a comment and u say it is under review? I have left two comments cince. They were not displayed. Go to MHR.com, and find out how a site should be conducted!

    7-0.
GREAT POINT Danstall….thr doubters are saying our offense will cool off with the weather…but so will the oppositions and that will give our D the opportunity to win some for us.

  • Jeff Harrison

We should be 7-0 at the break. Only reason why we might drop one is because of the defense.
Aerobronco, get me a ticket and I join for the beer and fries shower in Foxboro.

I sent Metal Man an email. I don’t censor comments, even ones like that, only ones that don’t abide by BT’s comments policy.

    http://broncotalk.net/comments-policy/

Your comments waited 3 hours before I stepped into my office and checked the comments queue. First-time commenters have to await approval, then they can comment to their heart’s content. We received over 20,000 spam comments in 2007. It’s an unfortunate necessity.

I hope you’ll find that after that initial hiccup, BroncoTalk is plenty user-friendly. We’re all about the fans. We love MHR and hope you’ll visit both sites often.
