Finally a, “Yes,” answer to my ever-present question, “Is it Sunday yet?” A lot of stuff I wanted to get out to you guys before it gets onto the talk shows. I’ll do my best.

Denver Broncos:

  • Real Scouts says, pressure on Jay Cutler equals San Diego Chargers win, but likes the Denver Broncos chances. [SN]
  • The Denver Broncos also have a slight edge over the San Diego Chargers in computer simulations. [SDT]
  • RMN has their Five Points to Broncos Victory. [RMN]

AFC West:

  • The countdown to a (defensive coordinator) Rob Ryan/Lane Kiffin confrontation is coming. [Fox]
  • In fact, according to sources, Al Davis is ready to fire Lane Kiffin before the season’s end. (duh). [MN]
  • Also, if they lose badly against the Kansas City Chiefs he could be fired by Monday or Tuesday. [MN]
  • DeAngelo Hall is the flashiest burnt-up corner ever in the history of the game. I mean, he gets burnt more than anybody else, and he all of the sudden is this great Pro Bowl cover corner,” says Warren Sapp. [SFGate]
  • Larry Johnson’s mother would like you to know that, “Football players are people too.” [KC.com]

NFL:

  • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offered Jeff Garcia to the San Francisco 49ers recently. ‘9ers said, “No thanks.” (Tampa/Atlanta game preview).[Fox]

Ok so this is it. Can we de-throne the Chargers from the top of the AFC West?

    Aw… what a touchy-feely story for those touchy-feely Chiefs.

  • 24zone

    Film

Was a great win vs the Raiders. Great coaching and execution.

    Offense
Ryan Harris-amazing job on Burgess, shut him down. Maybe he should be at left tackle?
Clady, nice job, keep improving hand/arm upperbody strength, core strength.

    No screens to nate jackson!!

    Colbert-aggressive run blocker-maybe more rotation?

Kuper-work on backside seal blocks for cutbacks

I think the OLine should cut block more..alot more

Andre Hall, great runs, and good blocking

Kern-be ready for the snap on FG/EXP

    Dam Graham-great blocking!

    Defense
Exposed against the Raiders, they have a sub par Oline, and still had problems.

Great Job-Dumervil-obviously pass rush, but keeps contain and uses great tech. D. Robertson, only one getting penetration. DJ-making tackles.

Entire front 7 as a group must play better. The entire D-line, with the exception of Robertson, is slow, bad reaction time, and has weak hand violence, very soft.

    Need more from Marcus Thomas.

    Ekuban and/or Crowder over Engleberger?

This Defense (by personel) is “designed” to Attack, and Blitz.
More stunts/games upfront, get the D line moving and attacking, more blitzes, specifically run blitzes, flow over the top playside or slant, and fill backside with the run blitz

Just my opinion, based on film.

    Awesome breakdown 24zone!

I agree on Harris, he outplayed Clady last week. Clady’s a rookie and has more physical tools to be a dominant left tackle. He still played really well, and I’m willing to keep him there at LT all year.

I don’t think cut blocking is the answer though. This is a team that just won’t be able pound the rock as effectively as years past. The pass can open that up though.

Thanks for your take! Welcome to BroncoTalk!
