Denver Broncos CB Lamont Reid didn’t quite make it through the team’s training camp. A third year player out of North Carolina State, Reid spent his rookie season in 2005 with the Arizona Cardinals. After a knee injury prompted his release from the Cards, he signed with the Broncos, spending 2007 on the NFL Europa squad and ultimately the IR.

Today, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced that the team waived Reid, signing cornerback Wale Dada (wah-LEE, like the robot). Dada is a 5-10, 201 lbs. first-year player who entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He has spent time with the Jets, Seahawks, and Saints (until being waived Saturday).

Nothing much to see here, folks. Just kicking the tires on a new guy. Good luck to you, Reid, in the future. Official press release after the jump.

The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed cornerback Wale (wah-LEE) Dada, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Denver also on Tuesday waived second-year cornerback Lamont Reid.

Dada (5-foot-10, 201 pounds) is a first-year player who joins the Broncos after he was waived by New Orleans on Saturday. He entered the league in 2006 with the New York Jets as a college free agent from Washington State University and has seen time on the rosters of the Jets (2006), Seahawks (2007-08) and Saints (2008) during his NFL career.

Dada has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game but spent the final month of the 2007 season on the Seahawks’ practice squad.

In three seasons at Washington State, Dada played 29 career games (12 starts) and totaled 83 tackles (64 solo), nine pass breakups, one interception, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He began his collegiate career at Eastern Illinois University and spent one year at Saddleback Junior College (Mission Viejo, Calif.) before transferring to Washington State.

An honorable mention all-state selection as a senior at Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Ill., Omowale “Wale” Dada was born on May 31, 1983.
