[Josh Barrett]

The Denver Broncos have selected safety Josh Barrett in the 7th round of the 2008 NFL Draft. The prospect (6-2, 223) out of Arizona St. was projected to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick by many draft analysts. He had an underwhelming senior campaign, but he has all the physical tools that could help him develop into a stud safety at the NFL level. His free fall all the way to the seventh round (220nd overall) was surprising,

    very surprised to still see him available at this position. I like the overall draft, just would have to question the Jack Williams pick.

    I’m the same way, although the Williams pick has grown on me after considering that it’s very unlikely the Broncos will be able to keep both Foxworth and Paymah, who both hit the market next year.

    I too questioned it, but after reading up on him and seeing the combine clip, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are looking at him to learn Safety as well. Great moves, speed and stregnth.
