Domonique Foxworth is not only off the table – he may be getting the longterm extension in Denver he’s always wanted.  Newsday’s Jets Blog reports that a source close to the negotiations between the Broncos and Jets says that Foxworth will not be traded.  Instead, trade talks are continuing for DT Dewayne Robertson, with another unnamed Broncos player in the mix.  We’ll keep you posted.

I’d love to keep Foxy, sounds like a plan. Keep up the great work guys.

Well that was a quick change of stance for Newsday. Wonder who the other player is?

If I had to guess, the most likely situation would be either Karl Paymah or Hamza Abdullah. More likely Paymah. But from what I’ve heard, the Broncos coaches (particularly Shanahan) may be higher on Paymah than Foxworth.

I don’t think Foxy is out of the woods yet.

One day the GM, who has an input into personnel decisions, goes and the next day its rumoured that foxy is getting his long term contract. Sounds like it wasn’t the coaches that preferred Paymah.

The other player could easily be Webster or Martinez.

Let’s hope the Foxworth bit is true.
