I’m steamed!!!

I watched the game today at my favorite sports restaurant (Beef ‘O Brady’s for anyone that wants to check it out). I sat right next to a very nice family of Jacksonville fans… I guess I’m glad someone got to go home happy — because I didn’t.

My main complaint throughout the game was our lack of control at the line of scrimmage. I felt like Cutler was rushed on nearly every play. Everyone along the line looked like they were getting pushed backwards into the pocket and we had NO running lanes. I mean, when the last time Denver’s star RB was held to 35 yards!? 35 yards!?!

I know that defensively we have struggled to stop the run, but allowing Jacksonville to gain 186 yards is abysmal. And in addition to allowing 186 yards rushing, we couldn’t get pressure on David Gerrard to save our lives. It seemed like Gerrard had ALL DAY in the pocket. Elvis Dumervil recorded 2 sacks, but they were most certainly the exception.

I’m so angry about our terrible line-play, I’m not even going to mention our special teams failures.

Unless we want to get blooded by Indy next week, our number one priority MUST be improving our Offensive and Defensive lines.

I’ll write more once I calm down…

The defensive line let me down a lot more than the offensive line, although they really didn’t open up any holes today.

I thought Cutler got about the same amount of pressure as ever, but I’ve yet to really break down the game from an X’s and O’s/line breakdown perspective.

I honestly think we may have the worst starting defensive tackles in the league…

I’ll be very interested in your O-line break down. Since I watched the game at a restaurant I don’t have access to take a closer look at the plays. However, while watching the game live it seemed like one side or the other (and sometimes both) were folding in on Cutler on way too many plays. That coupled with the lack of rushing yards certainly made it feel like we got beat at the line of scrimmage.

It may not have been as bad as the D-line, but it definitely felt that way…

I’m eager to see what a close inspection will show.

I was watching the lines play, and the defensive side just got blew up time after time. The o line didn’t play great either.

It is amazing how close the game was despite domination of the clock and on both sides of the line Jacksonville demanded. One catch away, possibly, from a sustained drive and a win in the 4th Quarter. And, of course, a fumble and interception for further damage — mistakes plague this team. I also thought the officiating sucked in favor of the Jags, maybe just a ravaged Bronco team sucking.

Special teams just abysmal and cost us the game (again). Amazing they have their offensive (Sapp) and defensive (Bailey) starters on those teams to make plays happen.
