I’ve read every other predicter/sportswriter/blogger’s results from their Pick ‘Ems last week. And I’ve come to a simple, definite conclusion.

All hail me.

I had a great showing in Week 1, picking my way to 13-3 (counting the Colts, whom if you’ve read any of Power Rankings etc. you know I picked). So I praise myself and toot my own horn this week because I have a feeling these bragging rights will be short-lived.

The games this week are that mind-achingly difficult to predict.

Toughest Game to Pick – Packers @ Giants. If Eli plays, I’d pick the Giants. But it looks like he might not, so I went with the Packers.

Easiest Game to Pick – Chiefs @ Bears. One of these teams is an 0-2 caliber team.

Matchup kmonty Notes
ATL @ JAC JAC Stopping the run will be key for the Jags this time.
GB @ NYG GB If Eli was playing, I’d pick the other way.
HOU @ CAR CAR Tough one to pick… AFC usually beats NFC, and I like the Texans more than the Average Joe in the “David Carr Bowl.”
BUF @ PIT PIT Buffalo plays with emotion, and doesn’t deserve to be 0-2. Could be an upset in the works.
NO @ TB NO Although I think the Saints are overrated, they’ll still beat the Bucs without a problem.
CIN @ CLE CIN Cincinnati may be crawling up my power rankings soon…
IND @ TEN IND How long will it be until the Colts lose? (Hopefully Week 4).
SF @ STL STL My head hurts from pounding it against the desk now.
DAL @ MIA DAL Another NFC-AFC matchup, and I picked the NFC again. I’m gonna regret this, I know it…
SEA @ ARI ARI Cards swept ’em last year, and should have won last week.
NYJ @ BAL BAL No Ed Reed. No Johnathan Ogden. No Ray Lewis. Still better than the Jets.
OAK @ DEN DEN It’s Raider Week, people!
KC @ CHI CHI Fourth cross-conference match, and I chose NFC for the third time.
MIN @ DET MIN Vikings may be better than I thought.
SD @ NE NE Patriots looked about a billion times more sharp than the Chargers Week 1.
WAS @ PHI PHI Eagles bounce back in a close one.

Picks Against the Spread – Green Bay (2), Minnesota (3), Arizona (2.5).

With any luck, I’ll be riding my way to continued bragging rights next week.

There is not a single game I disagree with you on, except that I wish the Titans could do to the Colts what they did last year. I don’t think I see that happening, though.

I went 14-2. I took the Rams and the Ravens. Who knew?

I took Seattle over Az. All others the same.

Yeah – hail you. Went 11-5 myself – beating my worst enemy by 2 big ones. The one and only (thank god) Adam Schein went 9-7 for FOXsporst.com!

I am a Schein-a-holic myself, listen to him on Sirius Radio every chance I get. He and I have had our discussions about my Broncos on the air, too (hate to say he was dead on last year that my team would blow it).

He, Solomon Wilcots and Jim Miller ALL went 9-7.

Yea, this year it’s Pete Prisco who hit the picks in week 1. I think he want 11-5.

Which, ironically, is what I went in week 1. Not sure what that says.
