J.D. covered earlier this week how the recent depth chart just didn’t make sense, based on what we had heard through the Broncos beat writers and our own general tape study. Well, it seems the coach has gone ahead and fixed that – several changes have taken place since then and now, and you can find the complete 2007 Opening Week Depth Chart below, along with my notes on what has changed (Depth Chart from DenverBroncos.com):

Changes Since Last Depth Chart

  • Brandon Marshall took his rightful spot at #2, over Brandon Stokley.
  • My boy Montrae Holland gets the nod over Chris Kuper at right guard.
  • The running back situation became what I thought it would be.
  • Tony Scheffler moves DOWN the depth chart – he was listed #3 before, now he’s behind both Stephen Alexander and Nate Jackson. Is it for health concerns, or is he in the ol’ dog house again?
  • Surprise! Simeon Rice, who it looks like will keep his #97, is listed as our opening day starter after only a few practices.
  • KMA

quick predict: Rice 2 1/2 sacks on Sunday!

  • 100%

I think Brandon Marshall, Javon Walker, and Daniel Graham are going to have an awesome year. With Travis Henry and Selvin Young bustin’ up the defenses will, Jay Cutler is going to make them pay. Rice and Moss are going to eat up opposing QBs because they aren’t going to have anywhere to throw to with Champ and Bly patrolling the backfield. I agree with the 2 1/2 sacks for Rice, but add another 1 1/2 for Moss as well. Go Broncos!
