Kickoff Week Power Rankings are here. You know what that means? Kickoff is here! You know what that means? BRONCOS FOOTBALL IS HERE!!!

1. [Colts] Indianapolis Colts | PREVIOUS: 1

I think we’ll all find out if Bob Sanders was really THAT good soon.

2. [Patriots] New England Patriots | PREVIOUS: 2

Anyone else hear the pre-Saturday rumors that Randy Moss might get cut from the roster? It didn’t happen, but if things are that bad for Moss and the Pats they may not be as dominant as most expect.

3. [Chargers] San Diego Chargers | PREVIOUS: 4

Chargers fans had a perfect preseason – uneventful and relatively injury free (when your worst injury is to your backup running back, even if it is Michael Turner, you can thank your lucky stars).

4. [Ravens] Baltimore Ravens | PREVIOUS: 5

Still, no one is talking about this team. Finished with #1 defense in both yards and points last year, and with another year in the system McNair could lead them to a championship.

5. [Bears] Chicago Bears | PREVIOUS: 3

Bad Rex showed up during the preseason after all.

6. [Cowboys] Dallas Cowboys | PREVIOUS: 6

I want a little revenge for that preseason game – Super Bowl XLII will do just fine.

7. [Broncos] Denver Broncos | PREVIOUS: 8

The last preseason game was better, but still did little to ease my fears. I just have this gut feeling we’ll pull it together in Buffalo on Sunday. I really do. I think this offense could be insane, and I think our defense could be more than good enough to make a run. We’ll see.

8. [Steelers] Pittsburgh Steelers | PREVIOUS: 11

Blame Sirius NFL Radio on this one. Especially Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan on Moving the Chains in the morning. The way they talk about Mike Tomlin and the resurgence of Ben Roethlisberger – this team could be scary good again, like they were the years before 2006.

9. [Saints] New Orleans Saints | PREVIOUS: 7

Another gut feeling: a rude awakening is coming for Louisiana.

10. [Seahawks] Seattle Seahawks | PREVIOUS: 9

Quarterback – check. Running back – check. Offensive line – double check. Defense – check. If they were healthy they could have been the #2 seed in the NFC.
11. Philadelphia Eagles | PREVIOUS: 10
12. San Francisco 49ers | PREVIOUS: 17
13. Cincinnati Bengals | PREVIOUS: 13
14. St. Louis Rams | PREVIOUS: 16
15. New York Jets | PREVIOUS: 15
16. Buffalo Bills | PREVIOUS: 18
17. Carolina Panthers | PREVIOUS: 12
18. New York Giants | PREVIOUS: 20
19. Arizona Cardinals | PREVIOUS: 23
20. Jacksonville Jaguars | PREVIOUS: 14
21. Detroit Lions | PREVIOUS: 27
22. Houston Texans | PREVIOUS: 25
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers | PREVIOUS: 24
24. Miami Dolphins | PREVIOUS: 22
25. Green Bay Packers | PREVIOUS: 26
26. Washington Redskins | PREVIOUS: 21
27. Tennessee Titans | PREVIOUS: 28
28. Kansas City Chiefs | PREVIOUS: 19
29. Cleveland Browns | PREVIOUS: 29
30. Oakland Raiders | PREVIOUS: 30
31. Minnesota Vikings | PREVIOUS: 31
32. Atlanta Falcons | PREVIOUS: 32

ON 11-32: The biggest dropper was Kansas City. The team looked worse than what I had thought they would. A lot of teams moved up because the Jaguars, Chiefs, Redskins, and Panthers moved way down. If KC doesn’t grab Leftwich, they’re just plain fools. The Jaguars will hurt now without him under center.

I have the same sense about the Broncos as well, However we have not done too well in openers on the road. (Miami, St.Louis) the addition of Rice will help for sure. I just am waiting (I’m sure like everybody else) for this offense to just bust open. It looks on paper that it has the potential to be HUGE! It just hasn’t come out yet on the field. I’m banking on it being Shanny only tearing a few pages from the play book. At any rate It’s the real deal and I cannot wait!!!
I look forward to you and J.D.’s insight and also the chance to discuss what we see on Sunday’s (my wife just doesn’t talk Broncos Football all that well).

Rice won’t play until Oakland according to reports (thanks to J.D. for seeing that).

Can’t wait to talk about SOME REAL FREAKIN FOOTBALL KMA!! Based on his disclaimer from MyDenverObsession.com and my own experience, I feel safe in saying our wives just don’t “get it” either.

Yeah, my wife “tolerates” my obsession with Denver. :)
