With football in some fashion now in the books, it’s official – the Broncos offseason is over!

Adding to this “officiality” is the release of Madden NFL 2008 today. Everyone knows once Madden hits store shelves, it’s time to play football again. As my senior year at NAU draws near, I’m very bitterly disappointed that I don’t have the funds to spare to go get the game myself… you know, responsibilities and such. If you can, go get it and rub it in. I can take it.

But I’m celebrating the end to the longest offseason of all time by changing up the daily fix… before it was a bunch of offseason articles that really didn’t mean much, and just helped fans kill the time. No more AFC West Watches, no more Pick ‘Em Mondays… no more “Offseason Awards” (as surprisingly popular as they were to some – I got more compliments on my BroncoTalk Offseason Awards than anything). And while I’ll still be posting several times a day, I plan on keeping some structure to this whole thing.

Without further ado, your new Daily Fix (to start in the next few weeks)…

MONDAY – POWER RANKINGS
After the games are played it is the tradition of every other half respectable sports and news site out there to list their rankings of the NFL teams at that point. I’ve always disagreed with these rankings… now I get to have my say. I’ll have preseason Power Rankings probably next week.

TUESDAY – WORST AND 10/TOP 10
I still like the whole “Worst and 10” idea, because it sounds cool and it’s original. You know… from worst to first in my weekly segment that sounds like “First and 10.” But it just doesn’t work with some topics, so it’ll only appear where it makes “sense.” For example: if I were to list the top training camp headlines, listing the “worst” doesn’t really make sense. If I were to list the best plays from last week’s game, it makes PERFECT sense, and would be a hell of a lot more fun. Either way, you’ll have your Top 10 Tuesday.

WEDNESDAY – WILD CARD WEDNESDAY
There are so many ideas I had this year that I never got around to writing into actual posts this offseason. I had one half-written simply called “Vince Young Sucks” back in May, but I lost it on the PC and never got around to finishing it… I was just going to show how overrated he was and how Jay Cutler was going to destroy him this year. Had a bunch of stats from both their rookie years and college… but anyway. Wednesdays will give me the opportunity to completely focus on a feature post of my choice – it could be a list, it could be a research piece, it could be a piece that looks at an NFL trend and how it will affect an upcoming game… but these articles will finally come to light. I’ve got about 12 already in mind… I kid you not.

THURSDAY – FANTASY FOCUS
I’m not going to try and be a fantasy football news source… God knows there are about a million of those out there. But any kind of editorial on all things Fantasy will be posted, and I’ll post my own thoughts for the week ahead. I’ll even update you on the 3 Leagues I plan on playing this year – a work league, a family league, and a Broncos blog league (hosted by Mile High Report‘s TheSportsGuru), and I’ll tell you the moves I’ve been making and ask for help as well. Last year I played in two championships, winning one of them, and hope to repeat that kind of success this year.

FRIDAY – PICK ‘EM FRIDAYS
The little brother to Pick ‘Em Mondays, I’ll run through the scheduled list of games one by one and pick the winner. I offer no professional expertise on the subject, and I don’t pretend to suggest that you should place your bets based on my picks – I merely offer a mixture of sports fanaticism, knowledge, and gut instincts that help me pick the winners each week. Oh yeah, and I’ll probably pick the Broncos every time.

Now you know what to expect in the BroncoTalk regular season lineup… subject to change if some bright idea hits me for Wednesdays… no Top 10 today though, I’m unable to sort my thoughts from all the excitement to objectively rank 10 or 11 somethings… plus I’m freaking busy.

IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON AGAIN PEOPLE!!
