San Diego Chargers nose tackle Jamal Williams

The Denver Broncos may have allowed another free agent to slip through their fingers.

Former San Diego Chargers defensive lineman Jamal Williams is expected to visit the New Orleans Saints later today, reports NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora. Williams was working out with the Broncos Monday; La Canfora’s tweet would suggest that Williams has left or will leave Denver without a contract.

Previously, guard/center Rex Hadnot and defensive end Dwan Edwards visited the Broncos, but the two sides couldn’t agree to terms. Both players remain unsigned.

It’s a different offseason for Josh McDaniels and Brian Xanders, who seemed to have a vice lock on every free agent that entered the Rockies in 2009 but have been less aggressive this time around. It’s a disappointing reality when a shiny football toy player is staring a fan in the face, but credit them for not paying a player more than what they have him valued, especially in this wild uncapped market.

Good, this guys a liability. Would have been good for depth, but I agree on not overpaying for old apt injured stars. It all about the draft.

Need to get younger and faster, not old and slower. Sign the free agents that can help, not maybe help. What about Restricted Free agents there are some good players in there. Think outside the box.

Brandon Marshall will be a seahawk next year. They need the talent and will over pay for it. I do not agree with the decision, but it will happen. Watch.

How do we take someone that can't spell words correctly serious? You don't even know how to spell the starting quarterback of the bronco's name right…? “realy”…Really?

You're right… Cause nobody ever over pays draft picks do they!… Also i can't remember a time when a nfl 1st round draft pick didn't pan out and become a star as was supposed!… You're an idiot… If you can find a solid starter that's proven capable sign him… Obviously don't over pay… but i don't suspect denver to break out the bank for this guy either, i know he doesn't expect them to!
