Report: Bobby Turner accepts Washington job

Another longtime Denver Broncos assistant is headed elsewhere: running backs coach Bobby Turner will join Mike Shanahan and the Washington Redskins as associate head coach, FOX 31’s Josina Anderson reports.  The move is expected to be finalized today.

With o-line coach Rick Dennison leaving for Houston, it truly is the end of an era in Denver.  Best of luck, all.

    It is said but we all have to realize that things are changing from the comfort of Mike Shanahan. It is a rebuilding time and that is ok. I grew tired of the mediocrity we had. This year ended mediocre at 8-8 but had its exciting moments from game one. I want to see where Josh leads this team. I believe in him and when all the Marshall/Scheffler drama went down late in the year, it says alot to me that Dawk, Champ, DGraham and Orton went to McDaniels and voiced a collective opinion that they needed to be held accountable. That is showing total respect for the Head Coach and the kind of relationship he has with his players. Also it shows we finally have leaders on this team which we haven;t since Al Wilson retired. Lets get behind them and root like Bronco fans of old and not the sheese eating whiners we have become!

    I agree with you kent s Coach McDaniels is a coach who demands that his players all should be team players and give 100%. We need to get rid of some baggage. The Broncos are wanting to become a more physical team up front on the offensive line and to get away from the old zone blocking scheme that never really seemed to work for the running game. McDaniels was going to get rid of his RB and offensive lines coach anyway. It's nothing personal they are both great coaches but they don't fit what the Broncos are trying to become next year. McDaniels has already picked up two offensive line men off free agency who are both about 330 lbs recently, and the talk is that the once great Ben Hamilton will be replaced next year by a bigger lineman. Denver needs to push teams up around up front the way that Pittsburgh and Baltimore did to us.

    I find it hilarious when a person will come onto a blog, and just start ranting and raving, but yet never really SAYS anything worthwhile.

    If you're going to say a team sucks. BACK IT UP with something that actually proves that. Otherwise, you're just wasting mine and everyone else that's reading's time.

    The Broncos showed this year that there's something more to this team than the 4-12 record many thought they'd have. And any EDUCATED football fan would know that there's no way a coach can come in and fill in the holes that this team had in '08, and become a super bowl contending team in just one year. Give them another year or two before you start making assumptions on how McD is doing. Stop jumping on the bandwagon when it's good and diving off the second it gets hard. REAL BRONCO FANS STICK BEHIND THEIR TEAM!!!

    On another note, I do have to agree that we won't be able to be a “contender” until someone other than Orton is under center. I'd love to see what Brandstater could do. He looked good in his full game last preseason.
