It was a scary scene in Houston Saturday evening, but luckily, it appears the Denver Broncos and Louis Green have dodged a bullet. The great, great, great news is that Green, the team’s backup strong side linebacker and special teams ace, was released from the hospital this evening after suffering a concussion and neck injury. His MRI returned negative, and he flew back on the team plane to Denver Saturday night.

The team’s 16-19 preseason loss to the Houston Texans Saturday evening was also marred by an ankle sprain to starting strong side linebacker Boss Bailey. Bailey’s injury took place on the second play of the Texans first possession. Tests were negative on Bailey’s ankle, but there’s still no word on how long he will be out.

Post-Game BlitzJay Cutler looked very good, going 8-of-10 for 59 yards. On his final play, Cutler scrambled and ran past the Texans’ defense for a 15-yard touchdown. … First round pick Ryan Clady had a lot of good moments, and a few bad ones. 2007 third rounder Ryan Harris was penalized 4 times, by my count. … RB Andre Hall was the star of the second team offense, rushing 8 times for 43 yards. … UDFA Anthony Alridge fumbled, but had a solid game with three rushed for 20 yards, including a long break down the right sideline. … Matt Prater converted his 3 remaining field goal attempts after an initial miss from 30 yards.

Not bad… couldn’t care less about the final score. I’ll have a much more thorough review of the game after the NFL Network re-air.

Your typo of Alridge’s name reminds me; I’m disappointed. Half the media is calling him Aldridge; Dave Logan apparently never got corrected, calling him Aldridge throughout the entire game. I hope the kid has a thicker skin than I do. I hate it when people get my name wrong. =)

I didn’t misspell his name in this post… was it a different one, Earl?

  • myerda00

Hey Kyle, read the above post. You have Alrdige, at least Aldridge comes closer. BTW, misspelling is un-forgiven anymore given all the spell checker tools.

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

Wow! I even looked at it after Earl’s comment and didn’t notice. I’m retarded.

Well, regarding the spell checking, I write all my posts in HTML in a normal text editor. I Should probably run it through a spell checker of some sort but names are tricky either way.

so he misspelled a name. so what? lets discuss the game. not spelling and grammar. Selvin had 4 yards on 3 carries. that is terrible. Darrell Jackson looked like a man scared to take a hit. pressure on the QB was pretty much non exsistent all game. but on the good side Cutler was excellent, Aldridge was very good, Woodyard was all over the field on both special teams and defense, the foot is obviously fine on Scheffler, he had some good catches and moved well.

hey guys what time is NFL network re-airing the game?

  • Panamainan Bronco

I think we lost because of Ramsey. I think he is not a reliable backup.

  • rcsodak

reairing shows as thursday nite, 12a (cdt), on the TV guide, but it’s anybody’s guess as to when it actully will air.

Good job guys! That was anyones game, and of course game 1 of the preseason. Glad your guy will be ok. I didn’t get to see the game due to travel, but have watched your highlights. Best of luck this season, we both need to move fwd a bit. As an aside..i did win a little off a Denver fan. Now go kick some tail, as I hope we do.

    Off with Ramsey and Harris!

Seriously though, we cant have Ramsey be our backup because he is terrible. Harris is a yellow flag machine who cant even hold his own ground.

I’m not too scared about the D because of the lack of key players out such as Champ and D-Rob. If D-Rob is all that he’s cracked up to be then the pressure will get there on the QB.

Marcus Thomas looked good, that is an awesome sign.
