The Denver Broncos are playing it safe with starting right guard Chris Kuper. The seventh-year player, who suffered a gruesome ankle injury during last year’s regular season finale, has steadily seen his workload increase in camp, but the Broncos still will not risk playing him this Thursday.
Kuper told Darren McKee of 104.3 The Fan in Denver that he will travel with the team, but he will be inactive for Thursday’s preseason premiere against the Chicago Bears.
D.J. Williams, who has not been regularly participating in team drills with a six-game suspension looming, will also travel with the team. No word on whether he’ll play.
