If you were following Von Miller‘s Twitter feed early Thursday morning you were probably startled. The Broncos’ second-year linebacker Tweeted the following at approximately 10:34 p.m. (MT):
>
Twitter is something else lol @Denver_Broncos: we are excited to announce that we are trading Von Miller to the Steelers for C Hampton.â€

The Tweet seen above suggests that the team announced via Twitter that Von Miller was going to be traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for defensive tackle Casey Hampton. This caused many to suspect that the Broncos’ Twitter account was hacked, but that was not the case.
A few keyword searches on Twitter led us to find the original Tweet (ironically from a Steelers’ fan — whose Twitter handle we will not reveal for their own safety), which merely made the comment as if it was a retweet from the team by adding quotation marks before @Denver_Broncos and at the end of the Tweet.
The Broncos had nothing to do with the situation, and their Twitter account was not compromised. Even so, it gave a fright to some Bronco fans, and Miller was quick to assure that he was staying in Denver.
I if I have anything to say/do about it, ima be a bronco for life!

It’s unclear when Miller realized it, but he ultimately discerned that the Tweet was not real. Yes, the Pro Bowler will be back in Denver this season.
Had to have been fake lol

After seeing Von Miller harass Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the playoffs earlier this year, Steelers fans would probably love to see Miller over in Pittsburgh. That’s not happening anytime soon, though. And if Miller has his way, it never will happen.
