6. Notable names miss practice and other injury notes
Recall that attendance at organized team activities is voluntary; here’s the list of absentees and injured participants anyway.
Defensive tackle Ty Warren and Matt Prater did not participate as each is not happy with his respective contract situation. The Broncos asked Warren to take a pay cut; his absence is troubling. Prater has yet to sign his franchise tender; his absence is more or less expected. Eyebrows will be raised in either case should they miss mandatory workouts in June.
D.J. Williams was absent to attend his DUI trial, which was ruled a mistrial and rescheduled for August. No word yet if he will participate in Tuesday’s session.
Top draft pick Derek Wolfe is not allowed to participate, per CBA rules, until his college class graduates. Cincinnati finishes its 2012 class June 9th.
Tight end Julius Thomas, wearing a large walking boot, did not participate in practice as he recovers from his ankle injury. Good to see the second-year Bronco out there, though. Running back Mario Fannin, an undrafted rookie last year, wore a right knee brace right alongside Moreno.
