4. Knowshon Moreno has an uphill battle
Running back Knowshon Moreno‘s bulky knee brace will undoubtedly help him in his on-field recovery from last year’s ACL tear. It won’t help him in the metaphorical hills he has to climb, however.
Willis McGahee is the presumed starter after a revelatory 2011 campaign, and third round draft pick Ronnie Hillman is the presumed #2 back, with Moreno and Lance Ball battling for the #3 spot. For Moreno, a controversial offseason and mounting injuries have left him without any ground to stand on in the eyes of his coaches. In one sense, you could say he has nothing to lose. In another, you could say he has already lost it all.
