Stealing Signs contest

Over the last few years, Detroit artist Mark Penxa has produced an ongoing series of original sports portraits called Stealing Signs, an homage to American sports legends past to present. The unique twist? Stealing Signs is a 100% crowd sourced series, where sports fans nominate and select which athletes are painted next.

In light of Tebow’s trade, Mark has painted “Timmy and the Jets” seen right, and is running a “Tebow-nanza Moving Sale,” offering $50 off all available Stealing Signs paintings through this Sunday, March 25th. Act fast – his paintings tend to move quickly!

Additionally, Mark would like to offer BroncoTalk readers the chance to win a custom commissioned sports portrait – any athlete of your choosing – valued at $300! To enter, simply leave a comment on this post predicting what position the Broncos will draft with the 4th round pick they acquired in the Tim Tebow trade. On draft day, readers who correctly predicted the position will be pooled and a winner will be selected at random.

Rules: One entry per person. Commenters who correctly predict the listed position of the player drafted with the Broncos’ newly acquired 4th round draft choice (13th overall in that round, regardless of team selecting the player in case of trade) will be entered into a potential winner’s pool. One winner will be randomly selected from this pool. Winner will be selected the weekend of the 2012 NFL draft; commenter must use a valid email in the submission of their comment to win.

    Well we just lost Spencer Larson to the Pats.

    Time for Elway and Fox to get over themselves and starting putting the rest of this team together.

    We’ve lost Bunkley
    We’ve lost Larson
    All three were solid contributors last year… not super stars, but good players.

    We’ve kept Prater… at least for another year… very good
    We’ve kept Woodyard… good
    We’ve kept May… big friggin’ deal

    I don’t know if it’s the new guy dealing with contracts, Xanders, who was noticeably absent this week or WTF, but we better wake up.  The defense still needs MASSIVE WORK.

    I love Larsen but he doesn’t fit in a Manning-led offense. Royal and Bunkley were paid too much, Denver was smart to not give them those contracts.
