Kyle Orton

The Denver Broncos have waived QB Kyle Orton, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The decision is financially driven, per the report. The Broncos have no plans to use Orton the rest of the 2011 season with Tim Tebow now starting, and they owe Orton $2.5 million over the remainder of his contract. With injuries to Matt Cassel of the Chiefs, Matt Schaub of the Texans, and Jay Cutler of the Bears, the Broncos are hoping a team will place a waiver claim for Orton, letting them off the hook for the remainder of his contract.

Kansas City and Chicago both loom on the Broncos remaining schedule; if either claims Orton, the Broncos won’t be saying goodbye to their former starter for long.

You’re a hater of all that is Tebow obviously you don’t get the opportunity to defend yourself.
If Michael is correct we won’t have to endure this nonsense much longer.

I don’t understand how dumping him 4 weeks ago would have been a better move.  At that point Cassel, Cutler and Schaub were all perfectly healthy and the chances of someone claiming him on waivers was slim and none.  Had we done that we would have gotten nothing in return whereas now at least we might salvage $2.5M.  Also I fully remember a post from you earlier in the year saying that Tebow would be even worse than Orton.  I’m not claiming that you were an Orton fan but I think it is hypocritical to sit there now and say that the front office should have traded him for a 5th rounder before the season if you felt like he was a better QB at the time (which obviously the front office did as well).  Hindsight is 20/20.

I’m not sure what part of my post said Herc was a fan of Orton.  All I said is that he made statements that Orton was a better QB than Tebow and Tebow would do even worse when he came in to play.  I simply find it hypocritical at this point to say we should have traded Orton for a low round pick before the season given that the front office obviously felt the same way as Herc at the time.

    Not by his past posts.

Fair enough.  That being said nothing Herc said is even remotely hypocritical.  Stating that Orton is/was the better QB and saying that trading Orton would have been better than cutting him are nowhere near hypocritical.

Like the ones that say “I’m no fan of Orton”?

How is it not hypocritical to call out the FO for not cutting him or trading him before the season when at the beginning of the season Herc was supporting Orton over Tebow as the starter?  Obviously the FO felt like Orton gave us a “better chance to win” at the time and Herc was in the same boat.  Why would they have taken a 5th or 6th round pick if they felt that way?  To criticize them now is extremely hypocritical.  I agree that it in hindsight it would have been better to have cut or traded him but I’m not going to blast the FO because of it.

Yeah, he says that now that he’s gone!  lmao

    Shoulda, coulda, woulda.

    Hindsight is 20/20.

There’s a difference between defending a position and insulting/cursing someone.

All boards/blogs have rules against it.  Well, maybe not the Raiders blogs!  lol

You can’t have a rational conversation with that guy.  It’s like talking to a child.

The debate over who’s the better QB is completely divorced from the debate over how the team should have handled the situation.

Yes, I thought Orton was the better QB (still do).  Yes, I thought the team should have reduced their demand for him before the season or cut him as soon as Tebow got the starting job.  These are two wholly  independent thoughts on two wholly independent subjects.

There is nothing hypocritical about it.

Dude, you’re dumber than nine Kardashians.

I’m curious.  How old are you herc?  I know this is the internet, and you can easily lie about it.

Does it make you feel like a ‘big man’ when you insult someone?  Because when you do, you prove to everyone except yourself the opposite.  And believe me, if you were standing looking up to me face to face, you wouldn’t.

Oh no!  King’s gonna kick my ass!!!   Hahahah ahahahahah.   The last refuge of a moron commenter is to say “say that to my face”

Seriously, though.  Not only would I insult you directly to your idiot face,  I’d poke you repeatedly in the chest while I did it.
