Red? At Mile High Stadium? Not in this lifetime.
Luckily, the folks at Mile High Stadium’s new corporate namesake agree. Sports Authority listened to Broncos fans’ initial reactions to their red sign and have adjusted accordingly. A more appropriate blue and orange sign (pictured right) will be unofficially unveiled Thursday, days before the Broncos’ regular season opener on Monday Night Football against the rival Raiders.
“The signage we put up we didn’t like,” a company spokesperson told KDVR last week. “We’re fans, too. We’ll put up a new sign next week that’s more representative with the stadium.”
Meanwhile, we’ve heard that the Sports Authority red has been appearing prominently in other places around the stadium. Not sure if this is true, but if it is, we’d encourage Sports Authority to just accept the fact that Broncos fans don’t see red in Mile High Stadium. They’d be better off just changing their corporate color to orange in the 80204 zip code.
