On Monday, the Denver Broncos released a letter to fans from Owner Pat Bowlen.  Among the subjects he touched on in the letter, one of the most notable was; “We will come to an agreement, and when a new deal is reached, the Denver Broncos will be ready to play.”

Read the full letter after the jump.

Dear Broncos Fan:

You have every right to be disappointed and frustrated with the lack of a Collective Bargaining Agreement that would ensure the health of the National Football League for the 2011 season and beyond. As owner of the Denver Broncos and co-chair of the NFL Management Council Executive Committee, I want to say that I share your level of frustration.

I am sorry the negotiating efforts have yet to yield a new deal. Although we had expected to reach an agreement by this point, I assure you that we are committed to this process. We have a shared responsibility to resolve this matter as soon as possible in a way that benefits teams, players, and most importantly, the fans. The fastest way to a fair agreement for everyone is for both the clubs and union to continue negotiation through mediation, not litigation, and we are eager to return to the bargaining table.

We will come to an agreement, and when a new deal is reached, the Denver Broncos will be ready to play.  John Elway, John Fox and Brian Xanders, along with the rest of our coaching and personnel staffs, continue to work hard in advance of the NFL Draft and the season. They are committed to building a championship team that will make you proud. We are making progress every day, and I am excited with the direction of our team.

Along with everyone in this organization, I care greatly about our players and am hopeful that the union resumes negotiations as soon as possible. It is unfortunate that this matter has taken the focus away from the game that we love. However, I am confident that this process will result in a long-term agreement that ensures the growth of the game well into the future.

I sincerely appreciate all of the support, patience and trust you have shown in the Denver Broncos. We will keep you updated and communicate regularly while maintaining an unwavering commitment to a resolution.

Yours truly,

Pat Bowlen

Owner, Denver Broncos Football Club

I love Pat Bowlen, but I'm not exactly reassured. I have this feeling (totally unfounded, I admit; it's not like I actually know the guy) that if Pat Bowlen were the only one negotiating, a deal would have been done already. Sadly…

pat, i know there will be football again, and i know we will have a season this year, because ther is sooooooo much money involved not to have football, but just please tell me KYLE ORTON IS NOT GONA BE UNDER CENTER WHEN THE REAL SEASON STARTS! if so then i dont care if there is football in denver.

No Practice, No Workouts, players have to limit private workouts..because no health insurance…The owners suit against the players is not scheduled until fall….everybody prepared for no season….players and owners….They planned this showdown…The baby has been thrown out with the bathwater… It will never be the same…trusts have been violated…not between owners and players, but between the nfl and fans…

    Agreed.

    What trust?

The only trust the owners and players have had for the fans is that they trust we will continue to show up, continue to shell out and continue being the forgotten partners in all of this money-grabbing.

Out forefathers rebelled in Boston over taxation without representation. Where has our fortitude gone? We need to have a voice in all of this debauchery. A voice that says, if you want us to pay, then you're going to have to play…on OUR dime, not yours!

    SIT DOWN, (together),

SHUT UP, (all the rhetoric) and

    GET THE JOB DONE!

Are you too stupid to realize you're killing the golden goose?

Odd as it is to say, even Al Davis would probably get a deal done. He was key in the last one. Like him or hate him but the guy wants these teams to play and for the league to get going.

To be honest, I'm on the side with the owners. THey put up the capital for these teams. Like any investor they want to see a significant return on investment. Players make too much money as is. Kyle Orton is going to make 9million this season. Last season all I saw out of this guy was the most uninspired quarterback play I've ever seen. I'd rather watch a Ryan Leaf choke session then see Orton under center anywhere. Lets hope there is football in 2011. Lets really hope it doesn't involve Kyle Orton as a Bronco
