The Denver Broncos announced two more coaches on Thursday morning, completing Head Coach John Fox’s 2011 coaching staff.

The club named Keith Burns assistant special teams coach and Sam Garnes assistant secondary coach.

Coaching with the Carolina Panthers last season, Garnes played seven seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants and Jets.  A former special teams standout for the Broncos, Burns won two Super Bowls with Denver during his eleven years with the team as a player.  He now enters his fifth year with the team as a coach.

A lot of experience on this coaching staff. Glad they kept some Broncos assistants like Gase, Burns, and Nunnely.

  • Vince_marine

If you notice the majority of the experience is on the defensive side of the ball. This is what we needed! Well done Fox!

  • TheTroglodyte

Too bad Wink got chopped. Wish we could have kept him on in some capacity as he really got the raw end of everything over the last year.

  • areferee

    OOH-rah!

  • areferee

Agreed. We'll see him again. Probably when we play the Giants, or (god forbid), the Raiders, who still need their DC.

Didn't Wink come from Oakland? I think he used to be there LB coach

  • areferee

Yes, and he interviewed for their HC in 2009.

Saw that on wiki … I'm not surprised there are teams out there that are interested in him.
